This is Part 2 of my interview with new dad Teko “The General” Modise.

Brown Shuga: So are we gonna see your wife and baby on a cover of Drum Magazine one of these days?
Teko: Never! Nna?? Nka o patala! It will never happen! Ke tshwere ncosi ya ka on a cover of a
magazine le medi ya ka??

BS: Why would you not do it?
Teko: Coz it’s been done before and I don’t wanna be a statistic.
BS: Even if they offer you a R1 Million for the exclusive?

Teko: Ha joe c’mon!

Drum Magazine give me a million bucks?!? It’s a baby man, what exclusive would they want with a baby?

The baby is mine, my business. People must judge me and my football.

(Teko gets up and I ask him about his low hanging jeans )

BS: What’s up with you boys dressing up like this? Can’t these pants go higher?
Teko: What’s wrong with my pants? Hahah you must be used to these guys who tuck in their striped Markhams shirts in neh! heheheh

BS: LOL shut up! So when is the white wedding day, coz there has to be a wedding?
Teko: Says who?
BS: Hawu, aren’t you going to have a wedding?
Teko: No man, there are so many things happening right now and I’m not even thinking about it.
BS: Okay so maybe later?
Teko: I might not joe.
BS: But every gal wants to wear that dress…
Teko: Yeah I know but the day I do get married, no one’s gonna know about it.
BS: So it will be something small? (tjo bathong! If anyone knows where I was going with these questions, please enlighten me!)

Teko: I might not joe, matsatsi a teng after lenyalo. What’s the point of spending big money , getting people to come and eat your bloody food but tomorrow they won’t be there when there are problems? & Anyway most of these big big weddings, di fela hampe maan. I’m not gonna be doing step joe. I don’t know but right now, my career is the most important thing. I wanna focus on that.

BS: Which Websites do you visit when you’re online?
Teko: Youtube! I love Youtube for the music… I’m not an internet freak but I love Youtube. Bo di Kickoff what what, I hate football news and reading about this and that. It’s just that there are politics every day and I don’t wanna know about them. Just because I’m a soccer player doesn’t mean I must now always have Laduma, Kick Off, what’s that Walter Mokoena magazine?
BS: Soccer Arena..
Teko: Yeah, Soccer Arena, Soccerlife ka mo…hayi!
BS: So which magazines do you read ke?
Teko: Yho! Heat!!!!!!
BS: Hahahah
Teko: Heat, bona, heat! And obviously these international hip hop magazines that are expensive for nothing! There’s no way I can travel without a copy of Heat. Just to update myself on what’s going on.
BS: So what do you think of Kim Kardashian?
Teko: Yho! Ska bua!
BS: Hahah
Teko: Kim is hot…u know what I said about eras? There was a J.Lo’s era, now it’s Kim’s era.

BS: Speaking of Kim, what do you think of people who do “home” videos?
Teko: People do it coz they’re in love and when you’re in love you do crazy things that you wouldn’t normally do. It’s done out of love or just coz you’re kidding around but because of the tabloids people start using it against you. Mara anyway bo darkie don’t usually do that ish, they just get huge mirrors hahah.

BS: LOL Okay, so you’re known to be a huge Pro Kid fan, what is it that you love about his music?
Teko: He talks about stuff I can relate to. He speaks lingo ya ko kasi and ke tswa ko kasi. I don’t know where hip hop started, I don’t know what is hip hop, I can’t define hip hop but when he sings, to me that’s hip hop. He’s what I call hip hop mo South Africa.BS: Do you rap?

Teko: I suck! I do rap over songs but I would never record..
BS: Would you ever be on his music video if he asked?
Teko: I would want to do it but I was advised against it. There are so many people that wanted me in their videos but I was advised against it, to protect my profile/image.

Miss Lebo,..If you had the previlage of hanging out with him and the other fellas he hangs out with,..you will be in stitches the entire time. I once hanged around with them in Centurion,..ijo ijo ijo,..I neva thought he is that crazy,…ha ha ha…The Blackberry story killed me in the first part,..”di wele ne..”? kwa kwa kwa kwa

Hey Siphiwo! He did get married, it was very intimate & more of a traditional ceremony really (mahlabiso). We were discussing a “White wedding” in this interview.
