Mad Love 4 Brenda!

January 27, 2010 by Brown Shuga

If there is anyone in South Africa who should be in the headlines, be the talk of town and grace magazine covers, it is Brenda Ngxoli. A young South African woman who has wow’ed me more than I thought it was possible.

ngxoli

There is NO single episode of Home Affairs (well, the few times that I get to watch),  that I do not get amazed and so so inspired by Brenda and her amazing talent. Her ability to transform herself and just get into whatever role she is put in, now that takes a special person.

brenda-ngxoli

I love that Brenda just does what she has to do, no matter what. If the role requires her to be a tomboy, she will be one convincing tomboy and if required to glam up, she does that very well too. Remember her as Mimi in Tsha Tsha? Give her a challenging role and this modest young lady steps up to the plate. I hope she gets paid very well because she 100% throws every inch of her into the roles she takes up. Talk about being committed to one’s craft!

What I admire most about Brenda is just how humble she has remained throughout her successes. Truly an African Princess, I respect your hustle sisi, you have really come a long way.

brenda

Yeah sure, uyayenza into yakho ntombi, what an inspiration you are! Halle Berry should donate her Oscar to you hun, you deserve it more than she does.

Catch Brenda as Vuyo on HOME AFFAIRS, Thursday nights on SABC 1!

when you talk about people like her, one gets to understand why we have the word celebrity.
these people must be celebrated for the talent they have. and because through the years they are still humble.
    i love you mabrrrrrr

She’s a legend, besides the great storyline in HA i think she makes the drama what it is.

  14. Cnglema on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 8:18 am

I’d love to see her in a non-dramatic character and see how she pulls it off.the tomboy isht is too much 4 me to stomach-ibaxiwe.

  15. Lady gaga on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 8:22 am

i also love her work but eish i wear, iyamukhipha!!

  16. Sslave on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 8:37 am

I’m a groupie too. True Legend.. She gives her all.. I adore her. Wena Lady gaga leave her wear alone maan.

  17. Ruffnek on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 8:39 am

I also adore her work … she’s got loads of talent! But hey she has to work on “people skills” man. Saw her once here in PE e-town — wonke umntu wayambiza ngapha nangapha, ba makasiphoxe ke usis’ wakho — didn’t even utter a simple “hello”. Hay’ shame, i was disappointed by her attitude. Nonetheless, she’s talented yena kakhulu!

  18. Johnlegend on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 8:40 am

I love the way she uses the Xhosa language…she really makes appreciate my language more. She will come up with some phrase zasezilalini. I love her

  19. Renegade on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 8:44 am

I remember when I first saw her on Home Affairs. She looked familiar, but I refused it was the same girl who was on Thsa Tsha. After some research, I found out it was indeed the same girl, and then I think for the first time I understoon what a talented actor/actress is. When you can be so convincing in one role, and be so convincing in other completely different one! That is amazing.

She was also on No1 Ladies Detective and was so funny!

    Respect girl!

I am also a major Brenda Groupie. Love her acting. The other episode where she was coaching the kids and starting singing, “awudede was a classic”, not forgetting, “ek se Thabani”. Thabani is the sweetest. I love Home Affairs!

  43. Renegade on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 12:34 pm

Off topic: I must be the only person who no longer likes society, it’s dying a slow death for me. Everything seems so rushed, as for the tha Mandla crying scene, hai no! Louw’s acting on the other hand seems to be deteriorating. Akua i’m still ok with.

  44. Sasha Fierce on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 12:48 pm

Renegade..wherent u touched at his crying?it was soo convincing…I just wanted to get a better wife for him

  46. Bee on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 1:36 pm

Yintoni wena Mpumi abazali bakho khange bakunike uthando le nto uhamba ulikhangela ecaleni kwelanga? Hayi maan hlukana noThabane.

Even though i love her acting bt HA season 2 is just not doing it 4 me. And her script nah. At first it was enjoyable bt lets face it which guy wud let his galfrend call him Ekse/Jo and let her walks like dat? That doest exist in my own world.

Of topic: Yho shem uLouw should have told that guy to stop sending her sms’s or call. Mna i was gona say ‘Babe this person is stalking me’

yhoo i meant the homewrecker,,, excuse its not my mother tongue

  55. Cheesa on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 2:46 pm

I like her too she is a great actress. She really cracks whatever character she does. Vuyo is my best one. She is the main reason why I can’t miss Home Affairs. I can’t wait for the day they give Vuyo a make over. I am also praying she would stop making Thabani seem like he is a joling with another guy. “Ekse Thabani okayyy uzile joe” lol but those things make me laugh.

Ruffnek I can agree with you on the people’s skills comment. She really doesn’t respond to people in a good way and one can say she is rude. My friend who is her cousin told me the same thing about Brenda. She said she was walking with Brenda and people recogised her. It was was when she was doing Tshatsha. And she ignore all those people. When they asked if she is not Mimi from Tshatsha she would say no she is not. I understand she doesn’t like the celebrity thing and people coming to her.

But when people love what she is doing they can’t help but compliment you and give you love. I have heard her a couple of times in her interviews talking about this thing of being approached by people like it’s annoying her or doesn’t like it.

  56. Mogwanthi on Wed, 27th Jan 2010 2:59 pm
