1. She’s Genuine.

There is nothing pretentious about this chick, what you see/hear is exactly who and what she is. You don’t get such people in Joburg so she’s a gem!

2. She’s Crazy

…You only need to listen to Dineo Live on Drive to hear just how crazy she is. Her afternoon show on YFM has become like an addiction of mine. It’s the best way to unwind after a long day at the office. Listen to her and you will kwa kwa kwa kwa kwa all the way, pure Hilarity!

Sometimes I cringe at the things she does/says and worry that she’ll get into trouble but I guess her mandate is to “have fun, fun, fun, fun” and boy does she do it well! I also enjoy the soccer debates with the guys in studio, that’s some original stuff.

I must admit though, the show has not always been like this. Something has changed, not sure what but something has changed and whatever it is, I like it. Maybe Bujy (her producer/sidekick) happened. Now if you’re looking for senseless fun, she’s your girl, if u want serious stuff then hayi, go elsewhere.

3. She’s a professional

When she’s on the radio, it’s not about her. She makes a freaking fool of herself, laughs at her flaws and is not worried about sounding great or ho i popnaiza (as we say it in welkom), she just does her job. I was impressed when she got a call one day from one listener who told her how boring she was.. Now, usually when that happens, you will hear a DJ go on and on about how people should change the dial but not Dineo. She laughed about it & ended up singing some song to the guy…it was hilarious.

4. She’s freaking Photogenic!

Dineo takes the most beautiful pictures ever and damn, what can I say, the camera loves her & I bet she’s any photographer’s dream!

Well, those are my reasons why I love her, I’m not into Valentines’ so this is my way of spreading love.

    Who is this Dineo chick anyway? Let me reserve my comments before i get into trouble.. Lesson #1 for her: She must stop acting like she has a LIVE virus. Lesson #2: She must stop seeking attention esp kwi public places (that,LOOK AT ME LAUGH) hayi suka she is not a comedian moes its not lyke people expect jokes frm her at the bank or @ Mr Price. Lesson #3,omg let me stop i am supposed to reserve my comments. My favourite dj is Gareth Cliff bcoz he does not knw when to keep quiet.He is not pretentious,if he doesnt like u he will make sure u knw about it.He knows where he is going and he is not a puppet.He stands for what he believes in like Phat Joe. I love them to bits..

    I luv her mostly for reason #2 she really makes my day. In fact when she was doing the weekend breakfast show I didn’t mind waking up at 6 just to listen to her. Like they say on her show “This chick is a sick individual”

    REAL PEOPLE dont seek attention their presence is felt and they get attention without even them trying. Dineo,Kiss kiss and those Yfm twins demand attention..bcoz they are too fake. They can yell, scream their lungs out when there are microphones or cameras around its ok bcoz they get paid for that. But who pays them to do that @ restuarents and banks..They must learn frm Siya Ngwekazi,the dude is loud in front of cameras bt he switches off the minute they go off.

    Now that’s sheer beauty,talent and charisma right there!!I cannot bear 2 miss her show with Bujy every weekday.She is real,honest and CRAZY no doubt.She trully is delivering after people feared she won’t be fit 2 replace Chilly but all I can say is that Drive time now is a slot worth the listen on Yfm.Keep it up Mam’Daddy

    I lovie lovie love Mam’Gwavament…i’m a loyal fan of her show…simply because of the craziness….and yes Bujy also adds the sparkle to the show.

    i love how she deals with the guys who keep calling and telling her how boring she is and that YFM must bring back Chilli…..i did not like chilli his show always sounded like it was more about him than anything else..and dammnit that guy had too much pride for radio

    the fewer times i listen to yfm is when i listen to Dineo,TholiB & Oskido. I like Dineo because she is real, not fake, & friendly. She is not full of herself like others, not pretending to be white like others also. but she must just learn to cool a bit outside radio, no need too much noise in shops,events etc because we all know her by now & we recognise her amazing talent.

    Hello Dladla,
    1. Yes you may ask a question.
    2. The last time I saw Dineo was at the 2008 MTV Base Awards launch. The last time I “communicated” with her was more than a month ago on Twitter. So if that means we’re close then yeah, we’re close.

    Except for point 4, everything I’ve said is based on her radio show, now whether I’m close to her or not, we all listen to the show & we can debate those reasons healthily without suggesting backhand tactics/ulterior motives.

    If I could say anything now to Young South Africans, it would be to say, “it is okay for us to love one another. It is okay to give praise/props where they are due, without expecting anything in return. Really, it is fine.
