They drive flashy cars, live in mansions, have infectious personalities, grab the attention of many in the country, young and old and anger the nation so badly but are able to soothe that anger again with a couple of kicks. These boys have amazing bodies, lots of baggage,  stamina that makes a nymph like me look like an amateur and with all that said I’m sure by now you’ve guessed it right I’m talking footballers.

I’ve dated a couple of Mzansi footballers and it was only when a friend said a line from my favourite snack amaPringles that I realised that dis waar “once you pop, you can’t stop” and I blame all of that on my ex #1, he was tall, handsome,had a great body *duh*, spoke perfect English with an accent nogaal and had that “I’m the man you’re the woman” authority in his voice that makes me weak at the knees (ngasho ngim halela futhi). Eish anyway we went on bush holidays, random outings and had such steamy sex it made a sauna look like a room with glass windows that just takes up a lot of unnessecary space.  He was perfect until the day I realised that I wasn’t the number 1 I thought I was, but his number 2 maybe 3 and actually I was a makhwapheni! Tjo I turned into a psycho! Would call and sms declaring my love until the day he picked up his
phone and told me that he was sitting with his “woman” and I should leave them alone…ouch!!!

I men longed for that attention he gave me, cuddling, long phonecalls from camp, the crazy sex and ofcourse the regular trips I made 2 the stadium to support him. Nxa bloody dog, does he know how much I paid my friends for petrol??? Anyway a couple of months later I met  Ex #2 who also started the relationship the same way and I later learnt he was gay…needless to say we broke up and I told myself I was done with these ball players because if they not cheating they bat for the other team…sies!!!

I wish I could mention their names so someone could then pass this message on to them that “I’m greatful for all the crap I got from them” because if it wasn’t for them I wudn’t have met  #3 whom I’ve broken up with countless times and loved like I’ve never loved another human being before!

This man is amazing, not only because he managed to love me flaws and all but because no matter how many times I busted girls at his house, got phonecalls from random girls telling me to F#*k off or find me cheating, we’ve always managed to fix the broken glass and love each other unconditionally! He’s amazing and treats me like a queen but my question is why am I so drawn to these ballpalying badboys  and I know you’re probably thinking “is this girl stupid???” But I’ve realised that there’s no perfect man out there, it’s either you fix the house you’re in or settle for an RDP house ko Braamfischer, which in this case is an even worse man, who cheats, has a small penis, calls you a B grade whore and has no intentions to make you anything either than a shag so basically, better the devil you know!

With all that said I’m sure ya’ll have written off footballers but truth of the matter is I’ve realised that these ball kickers are also human they do what most men do, which is cheat but are more victimised because they in the public eye. They have feelings, breathe, eat, love and are humans just like us so I’d like to wish a happy LOVE month to the love of my life that I’ve ill treated all month because of my insecurities… I love you my cheating lying and jealous angel!

Abafana bebhola bayafana bonke in my eyes, they’re all heartbreakers and it’s up to you whether you wanna sink or swim with them so I salute all women out there who have been able to swim, u are really a rare breed because football dating ain’t for the faint hearted!

P.S Ladies it’s too late to bag a footballer in time for the World Cup unless you’re looking for one in the NFD who’ll only afford to pay for entrance at a fan park so pls stop harrasing those of us who do have them already. They don’t have free tickets, won’t be making millions and you won’t be sitting in a suite with Victoria Beckham!!!

    LOL Candy I’ve never trusted these ball boys there is some shadyness nje in them. Im sure even those gals who are married to them are not safe. Maybe they are just kept to make the house warm while the footballer is away or maybe just to make him a man amongst man since marriage is one of the things that makes indoda emandodeni. Most of them marry while they are young I’ll never want to be married to a 25-year footballer or any man for that matter whom I know hasn’t had enough of joling and ubumnandi. They do have all the flashy things and great bod to attract all the girls but one must not be in a relationship with them hoping to be the only gal otherwise you’ll have a heart-attack. Its good thing you at least have one you are still holding onto Candy. Yes when things get sour their girls decide to go to media and splash all dirt there which is wrong in a way for them. But I still want a footballer bathong for World Cup Tickets and Bafana jersey lol, these things are expensive tjo. Maybe Candy you should give the name of your footballer since you always forgive each when he cheats LOL. BTW it would have been nice to know the names of the guys you’re talking about ;-) .

    I was just about to blame it on the travelling and all that – but I doubt that sportswomen make babies with different men in every city they play in. So the verdict is dudes will be dudes.     @Miss Candy i really understand your story coz i have dated the famous footballer for many years and have a baby by him, until i gave up on him and left… but as you have mentioned dating them is not for the Faint hearted.

    All i miss from him is his great Body and the godies that used to came with being a footballers fiancee.

    Sport stars, footballers in particular are not different from other people or men, their profession in footbal, just like other men who are accountants, teachers, actors etc… I don’t see why their behavior should be scrutinised and treated differently…

    Prez Zuma is no footballer, but he can put some that you talk about here into shame when it comes to being a playboy

    we might as well profile accountants or doctors to find out what kind of lovers they are!

    my only beef with some local footballers is that their faces look very rough and unhealthy..it’s like they party too much or drink a lot…
