Society Recap Anyone?

March 10, 2010 by Brown Shuga

When I got home from work yesterday, I decided to take a nap and wake up at 8pm so I can do the live blog. I asked my helper and cousin to wake me up and guess what, somewhere during the nap I got up, and checked the time, it said 21:15! I wanted to strangle them! “Why didn’t you wake me??” I screamed. She says she did try to wake me and I said “Ok”. I don’t remember any of that :-(

Anyway, long story short… I missed last night’s episode but I hear it was awesome so can you guys please be kind enough to update me? I’m sorry that we didn’t have a live blog… :-(

Ms Brown… Mandla left Luis. DAMN HIM! I hate that guy. I really do. I mean, the poor woman made a mistake and she apologised sooo many times. Now, he is making it as if it’s the alcohol that’s the problem, while it’s his anger that made her drink, again.

The one part that seriously got me -thank God I was alone- was when Luis begged him, she went down on her knees, and tried to pull him back into the house. She was holding and pulling his hand, Ms Brown…. But, no, the mean Mandla walked out Mtshana.

    Tjo… Ha-ana maan, I reaaly didn’t like that.

Anyway, on the lighter side, Ino, has gone all spiritual now. She got baptised and then she took the pastor and his wife to her home, where her mother rubbished’em all. LOL’… But, that was mean and evil.

LOL’.. Akua, LOL’… She asked Cruis uba what was he doing in the 70s because bebengenanto yoncokola. LOL’.

Manaka Ranaka, that woman never dissappoints. She was mocking Beth because she was teaching them karate trick instead of soccer tactics. So, Manaka did something which I thought was very funny. Weell, I cannot describe it. Les hope someone else will. LOL’…

Otherwise, Ms Brown Shuga, don’t ever do this again. Don’t ever sleep on a tuesday evening sisi. That’s just not cool.

I was so furious. I even thought something was wrong with my cheap cellphone.

Thanks Lady Gaga for understanding *side eyes Dladla*

  4. iconic on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 8:01 am

And Akua killed me when she was teasing Crous saying, kiss me mkhulu, kiss me mkhulu..lol

  5. Nonkawu on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 8:01 am

Soceity bathong, this divorce ya Mandla n Lo is gonna mess up my expectations.I was hoping @ some point Mandla would cheat with the maid….Eish!!

  6. Sivu on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 8:02 am

Lmao!! Dladla, Manaka is the shit hey!!! She said something like “Wayija papa na?” in a chinese accent and a few other things too!!! It was sooo funny!!! Tl tl tl…..

  7. Makgotso on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 8:11 am

I laughed when Akua asked mkhulu about the blue pills she saw,en mkhulu said they are the back up plan. As for Mandla that was cruel

  8. PS on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 8:37 am

Lol@Inno’s mom sitting outside with a couch, tjhe mme oo!!SMH…ba teng vele bomme ba jwalo or these people are just exaggerating?….hayi she’s plain rude calling her child a ho in front of the pastor!?!She needs Inno’s prayers period!

  9. Nonny on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 8:38 am

The one part that seriously got me -thank God I was alone- was when Luis begged him, she went down on her knees, and tried to pull him back into the house.>>>> That scene was copied from Diary of a Mad Black Woman. And knowing society the same thing is going to happen, when Lu has moved on with the doctor, Mandla will want her back………….very predictable.

  10. stix stonez on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 9:16 am

    RECAP -
    • INNO gets baptised.. (in a massive bath ye zinki)
    • Khanyi mbau and theunus crous r chilling in bed (akua asks bout the blue pills, he says its 2 help the old broom get up)
    • LOIS gets served with divorce papers (drinks Ice Tea with no rox and no dash #lies)
    • runs to AKUA who asks her y she drinkin.. she cries for Mandla and tears Divorce papers to try and win him back
    • BETH shouts at the cops says they not doin much (she goes to trainin and does some karate moves..tht was a funny scene)
    • LOIS organizes a candle light dinner for mandla (mandla is pissed and leaves.. lois cries and begs, goes down on the floor, starts hitting the floor)
    • INNO brings back her mate and ps home (ipeleng is chillin in a couch sipping on beer and says INNO will never change, she a ho, etc)
INNO cries and goes back to the lady (whos daughter died) and stays with her

    thats about it really..

  11. khafo on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 9:34 am

Inno’s mom_she cracked me big time_moitshwara tlhepi (Nakedi Ribane’s style aka Senthaulele).
Crous and Akua have a good thing going for a change_kiss me mkhulu.
Bertha she really fit perfectly into this character.
Poor Lois, its not about alcohol but the cheating.

  12. Lahvee on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 9:43 am

    Me, im gonna critisize :)

    1. Inno’s wig was baptized, not Inno! Then it means when inno changes hairstyles, she will revert to her old self :) hahaha

    2. Mandla typed those divorce papers himself :) . I have never seen divorce papers before but aren’t they supposed to be official documents (with a letterhead and all?)? There was no letterhead there, instead she gets depressed and head to the bar to drink! Double Whisky neat (no ice) and she drank it like its the sweetest thing. He face didnt twitch or anything… Its Ice tea for real :)

    3. The lesbian storyline is getting on my nerves. Thuli seems to be back to normal, she’s taking pics again and she cooked a romantic dinner for Mubi (konje what her name) and thanked her for respecting her wishes (laying charges for her even she doesnt want her to do). Thats when Mubi felt a lil uncomfy coz they were thanking for something she already did.

  13. Dladla on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 9:52 am

Ms Brown Shuga, don’t look at me like that, or else I will knock you off with my Mini Cooper fist. Or, will I hit a palm tree?! EISH…

ANNYWAY, Sivu, did you see her (Manaka) when she jumped up with a kick, LOL’, and her head LWKMD…

Nonny, you’re predictable, a SAcan who always jumps at the chance to critisize and compare SA production to overseas ones. How I wish we could just get over that. Better yet, let’s leave it to talk show fans.

As for the scene you’re talking about: even if it was copied, I still loved it. I loved every second of it. Same applies for the scene you’re talking about on DOAMBW, I loved it and I believe it was very good.

If it was copied, I love the fact that I didn’t pick that up when I was watching it. I so pray that your prognosis is a puff.

PS, I wish they would just let Inno’s mother stay like that and not take her to church. Also, I heard that Inno’s sister is Phathu, but they said Patu. LOL, I couldn’t help but think of JC Phathu.

  14. thefirstletter on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 10:03 am

and Mandla called Lois intsango (an embarrassment) oho!! Crous is such a sweety, where do they make them like that i want my own tjo

  15. Nthoentle on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 10:03 am

BS nna ebile I thought u r out wa groova or ona le Mr Man pushing passion and abandoned us,LOL! Sleep is important,we all need to rest. Next time, I hate Mandla guys! I kept trying to put myself in Lois’s shoes…shame man

  16. Nthoentle on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 10:17 am

Kwa kwa kwa @Nokwawu. Plus that made aint bad looking at all

  17. Shy Girl. on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 10:54 am

For the first time, i was looking forward to live blogging with my new phone… then I thought its me ongakwazi ukusebenzisa i technology…
Manaka went chinnesse… that was funny. i think u Berth is taking this thing way too serious, she must chill before she does something bad and regret…
ooh Akua and mkhulu… that was so sweet shame… I’m sure umkhulu uzizwe ana 21…

  18. Anni on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 11:15 am

The drag queen lookin chick with the wig makes me laugh,I think she could do very well in one of those Nigerian movies, lovin the series some of the acting doggy though.

  19. Makgotso on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 11:22 am

Why Mandla asked Lu about her whereabout en why she did call him, mnxim angani uyamdivosa

  20. Stho on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 11:38 am

But guys all of the first season and part of this season we had to watch Mandla endure Lois pushing him away and not wanting anything to do with him and also sleeping with another man even though they agreed that during their separation they will not see other people. Let’s be sympathetic to him shem, I guess they are trying to show us that he has had enough of her and had bekezela’d enough shem. Lois deserves an Oscar for begging Mandla like that.

@Dlala I also found the scene with Manaka very funny, she reminded me of why I think she’s a brilliant actress.

I am not happy with the person that does Inno’s make-up unless the make-up was done like that for a reason. Those black lips are just not on bakithi.

  21. Namo on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 11:39 am

I concur with you Dladla, i really didn’t pick up anything copied from diary of a mad black woman. so Nonny, as predictable as Society is to you, you might as well tell us what’s in the next episode…Let’s learn to appreciate home brewed productions..

  22. gudgal on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 11:40 am

oh cruis is so sweet man, dd u guys see wen he went to take the cups, he was so sweet. Yho mna i want my own mkulu.

  23. stha on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 12:01 pm

@ Nonny I agree with u have a point there @ Namo we do appreciate home brewed productions that doesn’t mean we can not criticize them, like generations is the most watched soap ,that doesnt mean they have the best acting in a south africa production,Theres something there wit Society but as Anni says most of the acting and general qaulity is a bit suspect some times it does feel like Im watchin those nigerian movies

Im sorry to say this but for me 4play beats Society from the acting ,story line to its general picture quality so far.

  24. Mogwanthi on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 12:01 pm

Tjo BS me and you woke up @ the same time, and both we had planned to wake up at 20:00 *sigh*

  25. Mogwanthi on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 12:12 pm

    We both had planned, Tjo!

  26. Dladla on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 12:55 pm

LOL @Stha: “…but for me 4play beats Society from the acting ,story line to its general picture quality so far….”

    You cannot be serious?! LMFAO!

  27. Bee on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 12:58 pm

Nonny gal are you writtin society? If No the SUKUXOKA couse you don know what’s gona happen. How about you wait and see what’s göna happen or jst make your self a tea while you tuned to ANIMAX bukele amaChina there. Bcouse SOCIETY is ‘predictable’ for you.

To the topic: Well enjoyed the show last nyte uyeke nje uBeth who always in the mood to attack people. Mandla i thought he was a darling i bt not after last nyt i mean every1 makes mistake. I thk yena seneProspects out there.

  28. Bee on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 1:09 pm

OMG 4play beats Society lol. Wait let me think how many episodes of 4play have aired so far? so few(i thk even less than six). Eish ngala bantu bahlale baphaphel’izinto ezintsha. @Miss BS u should have set your alarm yesterdy. Bt don worry you off the hook for this 1.

  29. GA on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 2:10 pm

    just had to chuckle a little @ Stha..hi hi…bua..

You guys i swear the tv was on, but i dont remmeber much of what you guys are saying. But the visuals are killing me..Manaka going chinese…Akua saying “kiss me mkhulu”,,nxooo…i cant wait for the rebroadcast of this season coz i missed so much…

But i did see lois begging mandla to stay….that was amazing acting. I have watched diary of a mad black woman and i did not relate that scene to their, perhaps because the backgrounds to the scene in question are so diffrent, but we percieve things diffrenetly right…Nonny saw what she saw just as Stha thinks 4play is better than society and that society is compairable to nigerina flicks in quality (this one kills me Stha…lol..)

And Inno and the oath she was doing with the pastor…too nice, i love the ways a bolelang sepedi…it just tickles me…

  30. stha on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 2:22 pm

@dladla I watch and i enjoy both shows (and i said so far which means from wat ive seen so for) look at yourself deeply and think about it you probably the type of person who thinks shows like Zone-14 are the best thing ever,we’re tired of watching uncreative ,dull, story lines ova done shows we need competition and to be critical about our shows on TV in SA instead of tolerating whatever is on screen.

We need more creatively done shows in SA (BS im sorry about your issues Portia Gumede) but its people like her and many others who tryin to get better quality shows out, for-goodness sake her show went all they way to the emmeys nominated for one of the best dramas in the WORLD,thats what we need come guys some of the shows on SA TV are still stuck back in the 90’s

  31. Bee on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 3:23 pm

Off topic BS have you seen/ heard Tear gas’Mhlobo wami? Damn the song is nyce so is the video.

  32. Dladla on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 3:43 pm

LOL @Stha: Uyabhuda nyhani kengoku… LOL, but I mean it’s how you see things, really. For that, I cannot say no more.

As the type of person (you think) I am, uyiphuncule sele uyibambile maan lhulhuza. Mamela ke ndikuncede:

    - Yes, I loveD Zone 14, but I am not into it now that they are repeating it. Back then, it was good. However, I’m the type of guy who believes that Jerusalem (with Rapulana Seiphemo) is the best thing, EVER.

Now, I would suggest uyeke ukubamuncu and look for the right definition of “creative”, while you’re on that, quit le mentality yakho noPortia Gumede wakho and start to appreciate what SABC (the limited stuff, I mean) dishes out to you.

Yours is to just acknowledge and appreciate the fact that SA production are along very well.

Of course, it will take time (most probably never) for SA to catch with US production standards.

Here’s my assumption about the type of clueless freak you’re: You’re the type of person who knows nothing, but refuses to come out and say akazi, or better yet, SHUT_UP!. Hence you’d say that 4play of yours is the best thing, compared to Society.

But, I must give it to you, you’re funny… “…but for me 4play beats Society from the acting ,story line to its general picture quality so far….” LWKMD… If you were a tape cassette, I would make you repeat that one line, again and again. LOL’

Save yourself the embarrassment and go and hides, far away. Waaay far from TV. LMFAO!!

  33. Bee on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 3:59 pm

LOL@ uyeke ukuba muncu kwakwakwa@Dladla. Stha it simply mean don be SOUR hehehe.

  34. stha on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 4:21 pm

@ dladla just the responts i was expecting from someone like u,first of all portia gumede (was using as an example) and i are not acquainted so im not sure wat mentality we have you on about.I will drop this because i realise some one like you cannot comprehend with the couple of issues which you simply did not attempted to deal with, all you’ve done is attack me and my character.

This has nothing to do with the SABC I was simply making a comment about some shows and there shows i enjoy on SABC,You see i know you i figured you’d love Zone-14 nothing wrong with that just simply means that’s what you see as entertaining

If you wanna debate what creative means check out a dictionary
first then come debate with me.

  35. Dladla on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 5:10 pm

By the look of things, it’s going to rain tonight. Mhh, anyone see what I’m talking about?!

The higher road, Stha, it’s where I’m heading.

  36. sponono on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 5:36 pm

4play = Ackermans and Pep — looks good and promising but no durable quality

Society = Edgars and Truworths mite not appeal to everyone or the same people but the best quality in evri sense

  37. Nthoentle on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 6:06 pm

Dladla and Stha please play nice hle…

  38. Nthoentle on Wed, 10th Mar 2010 6:08 pm
