What do you think was going through his mind?
I couldn’t stop staring at this picture trying to figure it all out…
I’m very mad at him… but I still wonder what he must be going through?
How he felt when all those students threw stones at the police car he was in?
He is in the wrong, but surely it’s still bound to hurt?
I know we are mad at him, he was wrong, we’ve already discussed that so here’s what I’m asking:

I think when ths pic was taken,he was still out of it and in shock @ the same time,the fact that there was no expression on hs face watsoever says a lot.The eyes stand out though,as for the lips i can just grab him and kiss him,hayi mhle umtaka mama jackie shem. Its impossible fo one car to have hit all those kids,killed 4 and seriously injured 2..Both cars hit those kids but Jubi’s mini looks more damaged than Themba’s…I am actually surprized he didnt sustain injuries. I am sho @ ths point he is wishing he had died in the crash too becoz what he is goint thru nw and what he will or has to go through frm now on is worse that death.. .I so feel for hm.

KK, u are absolutely right sisi. I was thinking about that too when I saw the cars. He will be nailed for negligent/reckless driving but after seeing his car, it’s gonna be hard to prove to prove that his, was the one that killed the kids.
P.S.S. Who is this well known actress who was in Jub Jub’s car and fled when the car stopped? Maybe she’ll be his witness too.

I went through all the emotions :disbelief, anger…blah blah blah…but I’d be lying if I said I don’t feel sorry for the boy.
He participated in a STUPID act but we can’t exactly equate him to those coldblooded killers.
Let’s hope justice will prevail but most of all let’s hope this will be a lesson to many and prevent millions of similar acts of stupidity.

Their case is going to be a very interesting one! Wish I could attend to hear all the attorney’s arguments. My brother is an attorney by the way….and I’ve heard them argue the impossible in court.
His car hit the other car, which then overturned and hit those kids. It’s possible for one car to hit soo many people and kill them, remember they were travelling at high speed….it’s the impact of hitting them and they were walking together and they probably ran in one direction when the car came towards them.

@BS – Jub Jub should not have been driving in the state that he was in. Evidence shows that he directly caused the accident by driving in the wrong lane and then pulling into the right lane and pushing the other MINI off the road…I think it is crass to somehow try to absolve him of responsibility because his car does not look damaged. This is sad. Do not allow your judgement to be clouded. I suppose his lawyer will be foolish enough to try and make that argument in court. If I was the judge I’d have him jailed for contempt. Bringing such a piss poor argument before me!!

The argument as I see will be yes they knew racing cld result in death ie theirs or pedestrians or road other users, however they did not go out their with the aim to kill and injure those boys. The killings were not premeditated therefore this isnt murder but manslaughter. With good lawyers they can be squeezed out of the murder charge into a lesser one. RIP to the 4 boys and GWS to those in hospital

I’m all for justice but why isnt anybody saying anything about the driver of the other car(Themba Tshabalala)??According to one of the pupils who narrowly missed being hit,Themba’s BLUE mini wiped out the 4 boys who were ahead and Jubie’s mini (silver grey mini) hurt the other 3 pupils?
All i’m saying is Both Jub Jub and THEMBA should be lambasted,they are BOTH guilty.Its just a pity that Jubie is the celeb and will therefore be crucified more.
My heart really goes out to the family of the 4 boys that lost their lives,i still get shivers when i think about the accident.

The deaths of these schoolkids was accidental – inasmuch as the drivers, stupid and reckless as they are, were not intending to kill anybody. Thus murder cannot be proven as there was no intent to kill.
However the reaction of the school kids who are demonstrating and screaming for their deaths is illustrative of the mentality of blacks in SA today – they are at heart a murderous rabble, ready to vent their spleen without justification on anyone who they deem ‘guilty’ of anything that displeases them.
Strange is it not, that they are never seen chanting and screaming for vengeance when for example an incompetent taxi-driver kills numerous passengers through his own negligence and failure to maintain his vehicle – why the difference?

I do not mean to downplay the seriousness of this crime, but I find it ironic that this has garnered such vigorous and passionate public attention, when the white collar crimes being committed by our politicians, the stealing of billions and billions of Rands, is keeping these same protesters and their families poor and without opportunity.

School children pictured outside a court room, baying for blood. How appropiate. This raises quite a few eyebrows me think. Although I sympathise with these students for the loss of their friends in this tragedy, I cannot in my wildest dreams conjure up a picture of four children known by thousands of other children, it simply is not possible, so what were these children doing at the court house? Why were they not in school, attending classes as would any normal student that want to get educated would do? Please do not tell me they were too traumatised, if you are too traumatised to attend school, you are also too traumatised to attend a demonstration, trying to subvert justice and turn it into a kangaroo court. Why were this allowed and who allowed this happening when all of us know of the dismal performance of school each and every year?
Guys, get your P’S and Q’s together, no school system in the world can tolerate this type of behaviour and survive, you are doing yourself a very big disservice for which you will be aptly rewarded.

According to one of the pupils who narrowly missed being hit,Themba’s BLUE mini wiped out the 4 boys who were ahead and Jubie’s mini (silver grey mini) hurt the other 3 pupils?

@ Tshd21….you obviously didn’t see the sketches that were made on The Star newspaper about the whole accident scene as taken from the witnesses. Only one car hit those kids….and the other one is only damaged from the passenger side that hit the blue car

Jubjub’s car, in particular, had to be pushed from the side you are talking about back to its wheels so that a body trapped underneath can be retrieved… Geez

Like all the other cases, the attention will soon fizzle! The case will be remanded (sp) soo many times and draaaagggg on until everyone looses interest. Our justice system is not the most efficient. Look now, application for bail has been postponed….the case hasn’t been heard yet!

Thank you Miss H!!….The car that tried to swerve back to the correct/right lane(Jub’s car) causing the car at the right lane(Themba’s car) to hit the children is the one at fault,finish and klaar.!But unfortunately in this case they are both at fault because they were under the influence,so they both belong in jail.I am now feeling sorry for them because even if they get away with this,they will spend the rest of their lives knowing that they killed innocent young souls irrespective whether it was intentional or not.I wonder how they sleep at night know that they are in deep ish.

Muzi Nzuza was one of the first people to arrive on the scene of the crash on Protea Boulevard in Protea Glen, Soweto. He helped push JubJub’s Mini off its side and back onto its wheels so the trapped occupants could be freed.

Yes it was an accident, one that shouldn’t have happened had Themba Tshabalala & Jubjub have better thing 2do with their time & money. It doesn’t matter who knocked down the kids but they both had a role 2play.

Blue /grey what does it matter which car actually touched and caused the death of these young lives?,I just think its such a pity that a tragic event like this has now degenerated into such pettiness.Maybe it is the remnents of an opressive system that always quickly puts some peeps on a defensive and want to shift blame even in situations that just simply require acknowledging wrong.
Of cause,it might matter to their lawyers because they are on a pay roll to save their asses and negotiate lesser sentences. but surely for any decent adult I think its just clear that this accident was due to the irresponsible actions of two(maybe more) grown adults who chose to embark on such dangerous behaviour.They obviously didn’t wake up in the morning with murderous thoughts,but the reckless decisions they made through that day led to innocent lives being lost and harmed.

Sad as it may be those lives lost are gone and nothing except comfort their families can be done for now.For those who were involved I hope they do the right thing and step up to own up to their irresponsible actions.To the legal system of south africa I hope it alays our skeptisism and does the right thing by sentencing these guys accordingly-not because it will breathe lost life back ,but so that as a nation we can renew our faith in the system and give some sort of closure for the grieving families.
