DJ Shuga on the Curious Mix!
April 9, 2010 by Brown Shuga
This has been a heavy week in South Africa so I thought I should compile a few awesome songs that are bound to bring a smile. There is a message in some of the songs, relating to what we’re going through right now but mainly this is just to remind us of back in the day “When SA Musicicans Could Still Sing” and did not rely on remaking this or that song.
(side eye to Stoan & Speedy)
To kick off my mix… here’s the legendary… Shangaan musician, Paul Ndlovu with Tsakane!
Aaaaah, Chicco Twala…where are you?
Even today Manelo still sounds hella good
You remember his We Can Dance ??
It had the kids on it and we went like this…
“Come on, come on , we need it …
Say what you want my children, say what you want
We know, you need us, we know we got talent…
We can dance and we can sing
Love and happiness we can bring
*whistle*”
Chimora…
our own Destiny’s Child came up with “Mayibuye iAfrica” how relevant…
Lucky Dube’s always preached about us being one… eish…
You didn’t think I’d leave out ma Brrr right?
Too late for mama… this gave me goosebumps!
What happened to Freddie Gwala??
Tshidi Skelekele u dula Zola… right? heheh
Lazarus Kgagudi saying “This Place Is Boring”…ska nkatamela tsotsi…
remember how we used to swear trying to sing Hita famba moyeni by Paul Ndlovu…. ayi!
Aaaaaah, America ain’t got nothing on this…
And this one was back when Yvonne Chaka Chaka’s music made sense … Mamaland
Happy weekend y’all & a big shout out to Gwai FM I’m audition for a DJ Job lol

Le cox? does that mean I’m old? Yeah, I am heheheh.
Hi Observer, am not sure i understand. You mean I haven’t been giving my opinion on this week’s happenings? Eish… I didn’t meant not to…
Malema vs BBC journo – Malema is disgusting
Visagie – I did give my opinion
Eugene’s death – he didn’t deserve to die the way he did, no one deserves such a death
Observer on Sat, 10th Apr 2010 11:41 pm
