The Nedbank Cup’s Super 16!

April 21, 2010 by

The Nedbank Cup is in full swing…I haven’t managed to catch the first round of the tournament but I believe it starts getting interesting from here onwards.

Here are the confirmed fixtures for the last 16 contenders:

Nedbank Cup

My quarter final predictions:

  1. Ajax Cape Town
  2. Moroka Swallows
  3. Kaizer Chiefs
  4. Pretoria University
  5. Thanda Royal Zulu
  6. Orlando Pirates
  7. MP Black Aces
  8. Mamelodi Sundowns

In Other Sporting News:

Dane

I can’t believe Daine Klate is moving to Sundowns of all places! I am sad… he is a good player and good players should move overseas, not to Sundowns! Only a few players go to Sundowns and still manage to stay on the rise (e.g. Sboniso Gaxa) but I’ll keep Daine in my prayers and hope that he will not live to regret this move. All the best ?

I think the draw is cool the big teams avoided each other, and on Klate’s move…moving to Sundowns of all places! ungatsho kanjanalo kaloku nge team yam but jah i agree with you that may be an overseas move will be be good for him because at Sundowns we already have Franklin Cale between him and Klate one is going to fall because they cannot play in the same starting line up

The LAST 8 is where the excitement starts for me – but I’m pretty sure we’ll see one or two real upsets even on this round.

    Re: Daine Klate

I share your frustration – he is the perfect age for an overseas move. Sundowns? Was that the best his agent/s could come up with? Really?

Isn’t Sundowns supposed to be a get-rich-quick place for aging has-beens?

    SMH…

The last eight should be a cracker. So it seems like no-one is gonna play in Durban that is worth watching. Oh well
