There is a new show on SABC 1 called Mzansi Insider and it’s on everyday at 18:15 hosted by your boy Tbo Touch.

There has been a lot of confusion about what it is about… but what we know for sure is that the it plays local music videos and it promises to go “behind the scenes” of everything, to show us the best of everything and having watched it a couple of times, I still feel like I’m waiting for it to start so I can see what it’s about because each time, the hosts keeps talking about what we are going to see on the show.

With the bit of an idea that I have about what it is they are trying to do, I think it will be really great but that will happen when the promises stop and the show actually takes off. For now it’s just confusing and ends before anyone can figure out what’s up.

I have to comment though that it’s rather confusing to hear the host link to a “behind the scene” look of who is dating whom and broke up with whom” only to have the next insert as an interview with some gospel singers.

We’ll forgive that coz vele they say “phoso e tsamaya le mohatisi” .

What I don’t understand though is why Touch says we must follow him on Twitter when he has deleted his Twitter account?

The account was deleted because people who do not like him on Twitter had started a trending topic called #UnfollowTboTouch and in all honesty, I would delete my account too if I was getting half the hate he got on Twitter.

Anyway, that’s besides the point, I’m sure SABC 1 can manage to edit that “follow TboTouch” bit because it was also strange that we’d be asked to follow the presenter on twitter and not the show i.e. @MzansiInsider.

So, JC readers: This is not a platform for people to trash Touch or settle scores but I need your genuine feedback on Mzansi Insider as a show. What has been your reaction to it?

How have your friends and family reacted to it?

Love it? Hate it?
Why?

What is it? Is it a music show? A documentary?  Or should we just enjoy the show and not worry about classifying it?

Oh ….and What did you think of Minenhle Dlamini’s debut on LIVE?

    I’ve never been more annoyed by a presenter,dat Minenhle gal has turned me off live completely,she is just 2much and i wont even start on the overuse of her hands. I dont knw much abt MI,only saw a lot of roses on the bed and thot it was a documentary or sex tips 4 boys. On that note still hopin 4 our very own tips 2 come back.*side eyes Candy*

    Wow um the first to comment. Ok i am still confused about the show what i like about it though it plays Mzantsi music i love that. As for the Live presenter Congratulations to you Mini even thou I would have felt beta if Nandi or Nkanyiso won. I think r you too CC lyk. U need to stop playing with your hair and repeating your self.

    Well the main Problem with the show is the Host, and I’m not ashamed to say I initiated that #UnFollowTboTouch
    For common reason with people who engaged in the hash tag, I shall not entertain that here though, and talk about the show…
    The show is pretty bleak in all honesty, I mean We get like 7 minutes on snippets of music videos and around 5 other minutes on certain behind the scenes clips.
    It is rather a show that just give the host to tell us what they are going to do on the show(like You said) and also have TboTouch blab about us following him on twitter and how best the show is… Errr like come on now!

    So what I say is that SABC1 could make millions if they used that 12 to 15 minutes slot on advertisement, than try to Create something they can’t really perfect. SMH! But at least its better than Unathi’s Ads lol! Let’s not even go there! Lol

    And Minie, she’s cool, I like her, just those hands, if she could just hold then still before someone gets hurt! Hahaha

    The name Mzansi Insider put me off completely and that made not to watch the show much. I think I have only watched it twice,and nami I can’t tell wat the show is about. There are more n more promises than action.

    Minnie is beautiful and very much Live. I am happy she won. I actually voted for her and Nkayiso. Minnie like everybody else I am worried about the hands,but besides that u r on the right track. Good Luck!

    I think SABC 1 must just play music for that 15 minutes, if they dont have anything better to show us. Touch is always lying to us, about what we gonna c on th show; and also boring us with stale news. The show is whack, in this case I think even if it was hosted by someone else, it would still suck cos of its content.

    About Minnie, not yet sure about her. She is still a bit nervous, and like everyone has observed shame her hands are getting a serious workout. Maybe with time, she’ll be better, re tla bona. I’m not sure about having 2 gals in the studio though; I foresee it turning into a very loud session.

    Off topic: What was with Our Gal B calling saying “Your Gal P”? Is there something we need to know about Phila?

    I read something like that gospel artist had the best debut album…pity I have no clue what they said his name was and my mom who loves gospel music didn’t know him either.

    Touch keeps saying he is live-chilling in the sun, but when the show is on it’s pitch black outside! WTF? It is a stupid show I don’t care who hosts it, the show itself is crap.

    I watched the show once and on the day the present wasn NOT Touch. It was presented by Zola. mmmmmmmhhhhhh. There was nothing much expect for local videos. So, angazi mina.

    I will reserve my comments on mzantsi insider, I do agree with everyone about minnie and the over-use of hands other than that i think she will be fine over time

    On the same note, I would like to say big ups to Bonang, wow the girl has matured so much and her presenting skills are now on point, I was watching her on tjovitjo and i was wowed.

    Eish I don’t know much about this Mzansi Insider show, I think they want to give us a preview (if that’s a correct word) of what’s happening locally & on SABC 1. The reason why they end up promising and not delivering its because of time, its too short!

    I don’t have a problem with Tbo Touch he’s doing a great job!!

    Oh Minnie the girl is cute and she was good!
    But she must drop that ‘intombi yomzulu’ line its out, she uses her hands to much & sometimes sounds like she’s shouting, but anyway she’s talented!

    Guys,with the limited time the show gets,I think Touch is doing a great job.He is trying to show us what the show would be like once it plays for longer.

    I dnt think this article was really about the show,I think it is the continuation of JC not liking Touch.I have been following the blog for quite a while to know that nothing Bonang or Touch does is good in your eyes,especially THE BLOGS CHOSEN ONES,they know themselves.Many people turn to agree with them cause they live with this people and have scoops.

    Last week we spoke about Debra Patta and her bad journalism.I think JC is going the same route where no matter what other people do,we will always have bad things to say about them.Touch is living his life like its golden.Lets be happy that a brother from SA can have friends like AKON.When SBU went to have a party for his “overseas” friends,nobody saw anything wrong with it.JC ddnt even have any scoop from the party.We all know that SBU has a big ego like Touch,why dnt you the chosen ones talk about him?? Is it because he is your friend or you like him as a person of-cause.

    Lets balance the gossip and stop attacking individuals.Touch is doing his thing.The show lacks a bit of direction at the moment but the time doesnt allow him to showcase everything,give it/him time…

    Proud Of Tbo Touch,the show does need room for improvement and direction. *Bonang is a star and has her presenting game down. Damn! Minnie will follow suit too, she’s still new but has raw talent. I was with Nandi the Live presenter finalist over the weekend at an audition and WOW she is so Beautiful inside and out, hilarious too and humble. I love that she said with grace that she’s not a party girl and will never be one. All these Girls(and Boy) are going far, and with that i guess they’ll always be hate, lies and rumors.*damn shame*

    Honestly i dont understand the whole concept of Mzansi Insider,it seems they repeat scenes frm Music Lounge e.g the Jamali music video shoot.The music lounge presenter #nuffsaid.And this playing music videos for 3secs is a NO.

    As for Minnie,we should gv her chance.One dsnt become a pro at something over night.Like all other presenters she will get there.Shes quite cute yena shem.

    Shame, i grew up with both Nandi and Minnie Umhlanga DBN (who have known each other for the longest time). And they both are amazing girls. Nandi is your in doors, kind-a-girl.U’ll never catch her at a club. while Minnie loves a good party. Both these girls are lovely and talented. I guess people,will always try find something, even when there’s nothing on others. For those who know them, they’ll know they are really cool,sweet girls :) DBN Represent! Show’ Dem :)

    This is the kind of show that should be used as a stepping stone when grooming young talent & 1 would have thought that maybe Nandi or Nkanyiso would have been more suited for this & not an already made failure like Touch. Plus these behind the scenes are quite outdated. As for Minie she’l come good but just needs to stop smilling & nodding her head as though she’d been asked for an opinion otherwise the 1st show gets a 6

    I have said much about Mzansi Insider on twitter and I think that it is complete TOSH! What garbage. The link yay zolo about behind the scenes of a soapie, then BOOM showing us a Pastor Mbhobho and gospel star dude I was like um okay… *blank stare*
    I think the show is a waste of time and honestly I think that airtime could have been used better coz Music Video’s are just not on and that chart is very suspect. Anyway that being said the show CAN be fixed and really be MZANSI Insider instead of Music Videos, et. al Insider.
    Minni… I don’t know, because I preferred Nandi coz she had that Different element that she could bring to the show. not that Minnie doesn’t but she’s too much like her female co-presenter. The hands… But she could be nervous and that’s teh only way she could calm down, by using her hands.
    But MI has got to go.

    Gotta be objective and agree with KK. Got a sense that this wasn’t really about the show, but a continuation of hate on Touch cos he’s ugly and likes ‘beautiful people’s things’.

    That’s old and starting to irk the freak out of me. Let’s keep it original and on point…………. OBJECTIVE too.

    We’ve seen some rather horrid presentation on our screens. NO NAMES MENTIONED!!!!!

    There have been worse ppl on our TV screens, Lelo included! She really sucked on real goboza and she sounded a bit tongue tied( da english tjonaweee)!! But not to bash her or anything, just tryna prove dat tv aint for everyone! She is better and hand written communication :D

    As for Minnie, she is nice,cute and she is well on her way, hands aside; gal is ok and she will b better.

    I don’t like Touch one bit, never have and never will.
    He needs to come down from whatever cloud he is at and place his feet firmly down on the ground. He is just to stuck up,arrogant and proud for my liking.

    Big Ups to Bonang, we didn’t appreciate her until we see how apalling people can be. Carol is alos another spectacular presenter. I know I can never be able to do it.

    Its seems that everyone with energy and a female on Live is trying to be Bonang.SMH! First it was Nandi (whom I thought she was very different from Bonang, besides her having more of an Afro- Glam look. But somehow she was still trying to be Bonang *blank stare* coz i dnt remember any similarities in them both). And now its Minnie! who is more of a natural cute look, and has different way of presenting(voice including).

    Eish! I feel like everyone is too harsh to the females on the show& sadly its generally other females who are being unfair. No one to me on the show has EVA come across as trying to be Bonang.

    I think Minni was the best choice out of that bunch!!!! The thought of Nandi on my Tv screen on Fridays made me wanna puke!!! I don’t think I’d be able to deal with her “devil-ish” facial expressions and her dancing all around da studio all night long! Its not theater dear!!!!

    Ah.. Im indifferent about both Mzansi Insiders and Mini.. I figured that if I cant stand them, welfare tv has 3 more channels I could tune into, 4 including Soweto tv (chuckles).

    @KK-not everyone will like a person, and if the majority of the people here don’t like Touch so what? And u think being friends with Akon is an achievement? Kwa,u r a small boy shem!I don’t like him cos he is ugly n can’t present, I also don’t like how he used pout his lips on Live (annoying). I watched Mzanzi Insider once n I think its WACK, BLAND, 1/10! Touch needs to get off his high horse,like really.
    How can u even put Bonang n Touch in 1sentence? I agree that Bonang was hated on because I think that gal is the IT GAL of SA entertainment right now,she works bloody hard. I believe she was hated n envied by a lot of women here. As for Touch, Touch who?

    Lelo le wena stop writting about Touch already, u know he thinks u r out to get him so just leave him alone tuu!

    Mini is pretty man,she will get the hang of it,give her a chance.

    *CLEARLY THE CONCLUSION IS* That we all have DIFFERENT opinions about the people on our screens. E.g Nandi was my fav. coz she was super &original! Minnie I kno will do a great job! Touch needs to improve here and there. Bonang is Fire and really talented(didn’t start out that way, she has grown into her own). Lelo during the RGB was new and i’m sure given time would improve. But thats MY opinion and all of our opinions will VARY.(its human nature)

    This article is about Touch and Mini. If we are going say something about them, lets give constructive critisicism. Esp. Mini who is still very young.* I don’t think its neccessary to use HARSH words to describe how u feel about one’s presenting style. Coz then clearly ure using this platform, for your own insecurities.

    So i say, BIG UP! To all those mentioned in this article and replies. No one is perfect, so take notes and soon u’ll be good at what you do. e.g Bonang is now a great presenter.

Lelo aka BS was the worst thing to happen to “welfare tv” & my child would always ask why she wants to cry! & I agree wth th otha user abt Lelo leaving Touch alone and the shows he presents coz its so LATE!!!
