What’s IN & What’s OUT?

June 17, 2010 by

Let’s get you chuckling, giggling, wowing and curious as I break my blogging virginity on this great site (Just Curious), I thought I should compile my list of the INs & OUTs. Lot is happening, some things need to be addressed and I (don’t know if I was fortunate) took the initiative to work on these. This is not about celebrities but about South Africans in general!!!
As you are sitting there you notice some new things that are taking place and those you wish they must end already, have pointed out a few that we all know!!

INs

Soccer is in, and its seems to be the sport that has received so much love and support, cricket and rugby are great but soccer is slowly but surely taking the cake!!

Blogging is in, world cup is here, work is here, the employer doesn’t want to get off your back, you’ve got a two months old to breast-feed, but that doesn’t stop you from visiting blogs!!

Fathers: paying child maintenance and showing love to your kids is in, a real man knows his duties and doesn’t run away from them, while you at it, ask Mathew Booth about being a brother for life!!

Naomi of Rhythm City is mos def in, hate her or love her, this woman can act….she makes Rhythm City in, you don’t wanna miss it!!

Screaming is in, whether its young girls screaming their tongues out seeing their favorite celeb R.Kelly in Sandton, or people screaming at their most loved football players…

BlackBerry is in, communicating with a non-BB user is expensive, drop that Alcatel for a BB. BlackBerry Messenger is the way….I will preach about it, till you buy it!!

DJ Qness is in, that lady who sings ‘uzongilinda’ has a great voice, now that’s an album to buy…please also include Drake on your shopping list!!

Cleanliness is in, dress the way you would like to be addressed, and that’s the only way people will start paying attention to you!!

Siphiwe Tshabalala & Unathi Nkayi are in, whether its about their ads or the fact that they both have dread locks or that super great goal Siphiwe scored! They get you talking..

‘Yawn’ ‘Hides’ ‘Dead’ are in, people can’t finish a sentence without them!!!

aaaaaa

OUTs

The word ‘exclusive’ is out, clearly people don’t know what exclusive means, if taxi passengers are already talking about it, its no longer exclusive…mostly used on TV!!

Piracy is out, learn to buy & give back to our artists, pirates are quick to point fingers at poor celebs, don’t be a thief, that’s out!!

‘Do you have mxit?‘ ‘Are you on facebook?’ These pick-up lines are out…leave these for Justin Beiber and other kids!

Ladies & Gentlemen bragging is out, we embrace your success but stop showing off, my former gardener is driving that car already!

Complaining about the soccer and World Cup in general is out, if I was foolish I would say relocate, but then everywhere they are feeling it!!

Still on the World Cup, being absent at work just to watch all the soccer matches is very out, remember World Cup will pass & you’ll need your job. Be SMART now, you were denied leave, deal with it!!

Mohawk is so out, this hairstyle is like a virus, even the security guard has it…Drop the idea of wanting to do it while you still can…looks better on Dj Cleo & friends!!!

Lying is out, being honest is the best policy, think twice before you tell lies, maybe your partner will think twice before he/she cheats on you!!!

Arrogance is out, smile & be down to earth because that’s where life is enjoyable, maybe you will realize how people you regard as inferior, are actually great!!

Its 2010 people, discrimination &  xenophobia are extremely out….last thing we need are foreigners complaining about how xenophobic South Africans are, we’ve got a vuvuzela crisis to sort out, so don’t you dare!!!

I know reading this has automatically made you think of your own INs & OUTs….share with us, s’funukwazi!! Lol

-out :s-curl & cut. Ask Romeo Kumalo, Nimrod Nkosi& Robert Marawa
    -in : vuvuzela
-out : shaving eyebrows (chiskop) & drawing them back(scary like those thriller zipoki)
-out : Men with that 1 long nail(pinky/ucikicane). I think they use it as a toothpick substitute 4 ukuvungula

Wena you want to bankrupt us, how much is a Blackberry?

    OUT:
UGG boots, I dont know why people dress to kill with them but they are just glorified sleepers.

NAME DROPPING: You know I bought this shirt while I was about to board at HEATHROW and I found myself sitting next to AKON… and the 1st time I wore it was on that day when I went to the gala even with PATRICE MOTSEPE… blah blah

  13. HoneyBee on Fri, 18th Jun 2010 12:23 am

I do believe you missed 2 important INS:

Twitter is in. All the cool kids play there and you’re most likely to get the latest news on any subject or anyone there. Usually first hand account from celebrities themselves!

The Vuvuzela. It is the most talked about topic along with the Oil Spill on the Gulf of Mexico. Today it was blown during a tennis match in Europe. It is widely available around the world!

    OUT

The Rihanna and the Keri Hilson. It is better to just leave these hairstyles to these trend-setting superstars who’ve got world class hairstylists and don’t get their hair done in back room in Soweto.

Uyanda Mbuli and DF Corture. We could safely say Gert Johann sucked the juice out of that one.

    ZOLA. Nuff said.

Lace Wig – It is the normal wig that you find eRAF. The difference here is that it is 100% (so they say) and you glue it to your hairline with a special glue or use double sided sticky tapes. It looks very very real. ngisaba nje mina le glue.

Remmy Hair – is Indian hair. You will find it eRAF Hillbrow.

  115. MsParie on Fri, 18th Jun 2010 11:21 am

Gosh, these micr link hair extensions are very expensive:

A: Price can vary depending on your needs and desires. Many clients simply wear Hair Extensions in order to add fullness to their hair and not length. In this case cost can range from R 1900.00 to R 2500.00 On the other hand, if someone with dense hair is looking for additional length, more hair must be added in order to maintain density from root to the new end, therefore cost increases between R 3700.00 – R5550.00. Exceptionally long hair can go as high as R 8000.00. A consultation is the only way best to find out where in this spectrum you fall

He went on, “There are players that seem to be guaranteed places in the team, despite their lacklustre performances. We were let down by the same players against Mexico and were at it again on Thursday night.”

“We were told about Diego Forlan since last week. The guy was allowed ample time on the ball and the less said about his first goal, the better!”

“This is really bad because there are guys who can do a better job but they’re not even being considered. There’s a lot of unhappy faces in the camp and it will be interesting to see what happens in our last game,” concluded the source.

Kwaa kwaaa.. @ all your comments. Jerrr people can talk..
LET ME BE Tjatjarag and explain about who or doesn’t need a BLackBErry..

I must say that Blackberry is a thee “IN” thing BUT it also goes with your needs…

    The cheapest blackberry is 8320 and it’s R2,800 cash… If u take it on account u pay R160 / R170 a month..(Depending on where u get it)

    1. BLACKBERRY is for people who like surfing the internet/wap,(u can use it for business purposes say maybe u Communicate mostly via emails with other businesses…Your emails get to find u wherever u are because they will be sent directly to your BB there and then…(U can reply, attach files etc) everything tht u do with your emails when u sitting at the office/ internet cafe…

    2. If most of your friends have BlackBerry trust me u’ll be forced to get it they’ll tell u that it’s expensive to chat with u bcuz they have to use airtime and it is expensive to chat to u.. which is true (Well I was a victim of that and had to get a blackberry, I was a nokia person and loving BB now)….. Well I know someone said mxit is OUT buy hey BB has a more advance mxit called BLackBerry Messenger (BBM) u only chat with ONLY with people who have a BB no one else..

    3. Blackberry makes things easier especially if u don’t make calls and u are not using a contract…u can just send sms’z via wap or chat/ leave msgs on BlackBErry Messenger 24/7.. U also can go into your favourite social sites FREE whereas u have R0.00 worth of airtime.. U get to access ur Facebook Fast, your Twiitter even more better etc

NB: if your BB is from vodacom (I believe MTN does the same) you only purchase a R60 airtime every month …u get to exchange it for what is called a “BlackBerry data bundle” it last you for a month 30 days.. U then surf / download whatever u want within the 30 days FREE

    4. Some BlackBerries have navigators (I will only mention a few things, otherwise there is a lot that u will discover on your BB and tht suits your needs) etc

But if u feel u don’t need all these things then stick with your phones… If all of the above applies to u then u can get a Blackberry..

WARNING : BlackBerry is addictive… Once u have it, you can’t put it down..

    ** NO I DON’T WORK FOR BLACKBERRY nor DO I WORK @ A CELL PHONE SHOP !!

    :-)

@ Tweetweet. Thanx 4 the BB info. I’ve laways used Nokia & told myself I’ll neva eva abandon Nokia but now BB is tempting, I cant resist, I wana buy 1. I like the “email finding u part”. I need BB 4 emails, internet, chatting & navigator. What’s the latest & how much(cash).

“U also can go into your favourite social sites FREE whereas u have R0.00 worth of airtime”.
Can u pls explain this 2 me cos u also mentioned R60 airtime. That R60, is it for 30 days internet & chattin/calling BBM users only? What if I wana call an MTN user, do I nid extra airtime on top of that R60?

eerr BS – come here. Dont make me go fetch you kwitwitter. Taken from A – Z article. Amablogger have spokend. Sesigrand.

C-Comments closure- A control or order exercised over bloggers if their comments are getting out of order and spoiling the fun of the blog in the process.

I-immaturity…this u get mostly on ppl who decide to leave twitter n cum n blog here bringing with their kindergarden brain cells!

O – off topic – this tendency is very popular on JC and in most cases it leads to comments being closed by BS.

  244. tweettweet on Fri, 18th Jun 2010 9:38 pm

    @Bruised Ego….T’was only a pleasure Loved the article…

    @LG…
I must apologize the BB that is thee cheapest is 8520 CURVE = R2,800

Here are other BB’s and their prices… (I stand to be corrected with the prices but that’s where they range)

    BB 8900 CURVE = R3600,
    ,BB 9520 Storm R4700,
    the latest is BB 9700 BOLD2 = R4699

The exact data bundle is R59, so u buy the R60 and they deduct R59 airtime from the R60…. So this R59 is only for browsing the wap/internet on your BB not for making calls and it is called a “Black Berry Data Bundle”. If u want to make calls u buy airtime….

Yes, the bundle lasts for 30 days only. Which means every month u need to top up your bundle with R59, so as to surf/ go to the social network sites and download for a month..

On a BB u access each and every site, it’s like the computer hence it is referred to as a ‘device’. BB is not a phone but a device/ smart phone in simple english!!

All the best LG , you will love it trust me ;-)
