R100 000 Bail For Bees?
August 31, 2010 by Brown Shuga
Yho, this story is very dodgy. Have you guys figured out what could have happened that day? I’m still as confused as I was when I first heard.

I’m referring to the story about Blue Bullls player , Stephanus “Bees” Roux and how he brutally murdered a metro cop. (STORY HERE) The story raises so many questions…
- Like why was the cop in Bees’ car… was it really because Bees was suspected of drunken driving & the cop was driving him to the police station…or home ?
- Where were Sergeant Mogale’s colleagues when he was being assaulted?
- So why was Bees’ credit card used at a McDonald’s 30 minutes after he was locked up for murder and who used it? Was it the cops? or Was it stolen before he met the cops?
According to the latest reports, Bees was granted R100 000 bail and will remain in custody until he can pay it. This raises more questions.
- How exactly is bail determined?
Jub Jub and his friend killed 4 kids and got R10 000 bail each… , the Eugene Terreblanche accused was granted R5 000 bail…
- In Bees’ case, he asked for R5 000 bail, the State asked for R20 000 bail, so how did the bail end up as R100 000? Or is it because a cop was murdered?
Mmhh.. this is going to be an interesting story to follow… This is South Africa so the fact that he’s white, Afrikaans and killed a black man is going to be a huge issue with the public. Whether he was a gentle giant or not!
We’ll be reading as it unfolds. Have you been following?

The story is indeed very dodgy. I dnt understand why the cop left his car behind. That to me just doesn’t make sense. And I hate the fact that it is going to be turned into a racism issue.
If the cop was indeed tryn to steal his car then I am on Bees’ side.

going to drive Roux’s car home because Roux was drunk.”
“But we don’t know why the
colleagues didn’t follow them or see

Usually when the police take your car and drive you home because you are drunk, his collegues follow with the police car. So why didnt they follow this one? This is dodgy.

…And here I thought when you are caught drinking and driving, you get arrested immediately no questions asked. Whatsup, nje in the first place, with being driven home or wherever they were driving? I see the outcome of this going as far as Bees liking and doing the men in uniform. #hides
This is very very dodgy…

There is something very fishy about this story… if u read the link to The Times there were witnesses and everyone is asking why did Bees’ colleagues and those witnesses why did they not stop Bees when he was manhandling Mogale? And I thought when one was drunk they chuck you in the cop van and drive u to the cop shop, since when are you driven home? I hope whomever used the Cr Card at McD will give us the true version… And SA being SA, we know this is going to be a race issue…

@ Beewiz… if u have not noticed… the justice system in this country does not apply for everyone, had Bees been some black random guy or person, his bail would R10 000 or something… but because he is a high profile person and never mind white(as I do not like the race card) therefore he pays a lot of moola.. go to the courts and see the bullshit in our justice system…

“Bees” story is just confusing…. but nna staying in Pretoria.
I have witnessed the Rugby players beating my boyfriend at the parking in Brooklyn mall. And my boy friend was covered with blood and hospitalised for 2 weeks. The police came but there was no arrest even today.
I feel sorry and angry about this whole story… Maybe this bouncers tsa Rugby will stop with this abuse’s. Whether Mogale was stealing the car or not he did not have the right to kill him.

kk on Tue, 31st Aug 2010 10:18 am
The story is very dodgy indeed. Why are his colleagues not working with the investigators?? I think its a bribe went very bad.
As for the bail issue,it is determined by how much worth is the accused. So we might commit the same offence but as you are brown suga and moneyed more that me
, you will be charge more than me.
I guess BEES finances are good hence he was charged that much…
Flawless L on Tue, 31st Aug 2010 10:20 am
They beat him coz they were chilling ko parking and when we asked them to move so that we can move the car they started pushing him around saying ….you think you’re tough “Kaffir”
But the case is still pending.
kk on Tue, 31st Aug 2010 10:21 am
This is what I got from one of the articles:
“The state did not oppose bail but demanded a significantly higher amount than the defence’s offer of R5, 000.
Roux, who earns R850, 000 a year and has R5, 000 in a French bank account, posted bail and left the court in a black Hummer with his girlfriend, Karen du Toit, about 40 minutes after the hearing. “
kk on Tue, 31st Aug 2010 10:26 am
Flawless,I can also say I have had alterations with PTA police. They think they are above the law.The take you in for stupid stuff. I was almost arrested for walking with my friends who were a bit tipsy, mind you I dnt drink. After I threatened them with my lawyers, they decided to let me go,my friends were not lucky though,I had to pay fines of R300 each.
Ba sele mapolisa a PTA,PERIOD…

Security guard Richard Motenegi, who was working at a local business in Schoeman Street, witnessed the attack.
He claims to have seen noticed Roux’s white Polo moving “extremely slowly” towards the N4 in Hatfield. Then the two men fell out of the drivers door.
“I saw the big guy on top of the metro cop. He was punching him in the face and hitting his head hard against the tar road.
“I was shocked because the metro cop was not fighting back, he was powerless because this guy was way bigger than him and he had overpowered him. He was already bleeding from the punches and his head hitting the ground,” Motenegi told The Star.
Roux momentarily stopped hitting the officer as he noticed his car about to leave the road, ran back to bring it to a halt, then returned to the police officer.
“He started beating the guy again, lifting him off the ground and slamming him down so that his head would hit the ground first.
“While he was hitting him, he was busy saying (the cop) was trying to steal his car. He kept saying ‘You’re trying to steal my car, let’s see you take it now!’
“When he saw me getting closer, he jumped off the cop and started charging towards me, angrily asking whether I was one of the cop’s friends trying to steal his car,” said Motenegi.
Motenegi said Roux eventually halted his onslaught and ran back to his car, where he started hitting the steering wheel with his hands and holding his head.
“He then ran back to the guy he had beaten and tried to wake him up. It appeared that he had realised what he had done, because everyone there could see that he was very, very drunk.
“When police came, they found him next to the metro cop, telling him that he needed to be strong as he could still make it,” he said.

On this eye witness account alone, it will be extremely difficult to convince the judge (and public) in the eventual trial that Bees was acting in self defence.

This story is just plain suspicious shem and I have been worried about it since I heard about it. The problem is that mina I have no faith in the law, and all these things could have just been fabrications. I read the story that KK posted and cannot understand why that security guy looked on and did nothing, which makes me think that that was just a witness dictated to in order to protect both the dead cop and his colleagures.
On the other hand, for someone to beat someone to death, I really think you have to be high on something, even beyond alcohol, and I am not sure what this Rugby guy was tested for, because if he indeed just killed this guy nje like that, there were other things at play.
As for the credit card, who uses a recently stolen card at McD’s? Really? Fishiness right there.
Another thing that confuses me is the decision to drive him home? Or to the police station? I am not sure what the legal process is as far as this is concerned, but I did not realise they do this, in fact, the cases I have heard of, they take you, and arrest you nje. No courtesy driving.
Nothing in this story makes sense, and mina I have a sequence of events in my head nje that I have pieced together from speculation. Basically – bribe gone horribly wrong.

Whatever happened between him and the cop, he had no right to kill him. So he must face the music.

motlatsi on Wed, 1st Sep 2010 11:53 am
I’ve never heard of a metro cop driving a motorist’s car claiming to take him home, they must be very generous. This is the first of it’s kind, if that is the case why didn’t Mogale’s colleagues follow them coz they were using state’s car? Bees lives in PTA east, how did he end-up in Pretoria central. It’s a fact police are corrupt and who knows what the cops’ motives were. People/cops shouldn’t be so worked up because it’s a black man who is dead or because he was a cop. What if the cop killed Bees, people will be saying he did it in self defence. It’s high time that the cops realise that being in uniform and driving a states’ car doesn\’t give them the right to do as they please. Hope this is a wakeup call for them. Let the law take it’s cause and let us not turn this case into some political matter

dodgy or not, a man was ruthlessly killed, a wife (if any) was robbed off a husband, kids were robbed off a father, the public was robbed off a public protector. Speculations are inevitably gonna be there yes, but we’ll never know for sure what exactly went down. All we can do is offer our sincere condolances and prayers to the affected families and friends.

I’m scared of this dude just by looking at him….am sure so do flies…hence he could never kill one.
On a more serious note, Bees….(just a minute, I just realized that it’s not Bees as in more than one Bee, but Beast…ok) he must have been quite drunk….

I remember telling a friend of mine that this Bees guy is not gonna go to jail at all and like all the other high profile cases this one too is going to disappear like the others.
When the use of his card being used @ Mc D came up, I just knew that this one the ways to get our minds set on something else besides the killing of the poor police man.. There were allegations stating that Bees was defending him self from the guy because he was stealing his car, like WTF??
If you think the Ocean Basket R9.90 special siphele too soon well here’s another thing… This story is so fishy and I’m going to follow it… True what some of u guys say ‘It’s going to about race’ BLEH !!!
