At Savannah’s “Party Hard”

September 12, 2010 by

All roads led to Latinova Club despite many other DRY parties in town on Friday. The queen and darling of proper parties, Melanie Ramjee, and Savanna threw the Savana Party. The only pap thing about party though is that only the self-respecting and well mannered cracked the invite.

With the massive turnout of a bevy of hot thangz one couldn’t help but anticipate drama, and catfights over sugar daddies and the free drinks that come with that. You know how weave wearing creatures can be with booze in the system boss. #hides under my orange mink blanket#

I have to give it to Khanyi, the diva that never dies, and Crouse for being social trendsetters and role models to masses. There were more young black chicks (kanti vele where do white girls party?) from UJ and Wits hooking up with Caucasian sugars and vice versa. The trend, it seems, is to date them wrinkled, monnied and from a different race. Rainbow nation finally.

Anyways back to the party, the red carpet was rolled out with a free Savanna on arrival. This fooled most of us (the broke goodie bags and freebies- loving peasants) into thinking there’d be free Savanna doing rounds the whole night and all that jazz. Why else would it be called a Savanna party? Common sense is clearly not that common. Kidding!

Remember Eric Macheru? Does the name Soccer Kings fork any lightning? He is the first recognisable face one noticed on arrival. He is a very chilled kinda dude and still has groupies. Tjo! One wonders if it has to do with him winning that competition or just pure pretty boy swag.

Mokgadi Seabi and Janine Jellers didn’t your journalism lecturers teach you that it’s journalistically unethical, biased and unobjective to look as hot as you did? Should I call Kabelo Mabalane to remind you that journos ought to be unkempt, fat and utterly stuck-up?

Shux it’s hard not to love beautiful women with brains and killer personalities.

Remember Cindy Nkabinde, the articulate yellowbone who presented some show on SABC 2 a while back? She pulled a Penny Lebyane on me refusing to be photographed saying she was working and later confessing she doesn’t do online what-whats. The last time I had to convince any female so hard and long was when I asked my best friend’s girlfriend out and succeeded. But this time I failed, harde bloggers.

I’m tempted to describe how she (Cindy) looked just to prove to her that one doesn’t always need pictures to get ama-bloggers talking, but I won’t. It’s not worth my time.

Lanky funny man, Loyiso Gola, also refused to be photographed because “It’s a party”. Let’s hope he did not mistake me for one of his groupies because I’m not and never was.

My favourite comedian DK (David Kau) also showed face and yes he just posed for picture without any questions. Thanks boss. Kweeeee!

The twins scorched up in black and blue mini frocks looking comfortable and dancing like… hehehehe rather not say, let’s just say with such dancing it’s no wonder they have great bods. In as much as I hate being unable to tell apart who is who between them. It’s hard not to love these girls. They have spunk, style and humility with an alluring dose of divatude. Graceful divas are the future.

Gossip Gangster Mika and his bubbly self were there air kissing everyone. There’s this incredible aura about Mika that makes him breezy. Maybe it’s because he is just happy with himself and what he is. Keep it real like that bhuti.

Being a Jonny Motsamayi, I had to miss out on the rest of the party when my wheel man wanted to leave, denying me the chance to wait longer for Khanyi as I was told she was making her way there . I love this diva because it’s always a given that you’ll always get a picture or ten without any questions. Let’s hope she did pitch eventually because Theunis left a few minutes before I did.

Still on Theunis, I almost wet myself cracking up over one of the bouncers who was star-struck when he saw indoda ka Primrose. Never thought bouncers can and actually do smile and display any excitement.

All in all a great party but next time ke kgopela free booze tu please. Economic recession is not a rumour for me as the case is with many people from the northern side of Jozi. Oopsi I almost forgot to applaud the Naked DJ, Naves, Sphe, Vigilante and other DJs that played after my departure for dance mongers busy on the dance floor.

Yours in curiosity
