Connie’s Fabulous Night!

This past Friday, actress and business woman Connie Ferguson hosted a posh event at The Venue in Melrose Arch to celebrate 21 years in the entertainment industry, to bid farewell to her 16 years that she dedicated to Generation, as well as celebrate her 40th birthday. She couldn’t get our attention in June when the Boatengs were here so smart woman that she is, decided to wait till her exit on Generations before throwing the bash!

(Damn… I can’t remember the last time I kissed someone)

Connie looked beautiful in this dress from Honey Boutique in Cresta. I want to call it “pink” but these days colours are different from what we were taught in primary school so I’ll wait for some fashionista to tell me what colour is the dress.

She and Mr Sho were nunus as always…

Garnier were kind enough to present Connie with this beautiful cake and opportunistic enough not to forget the branding heheh.

The event was attended by Connie’s friends, family and colleagues and it was an intimate but enjoyable affair.

Here are some of the guests that were there.

Mr Generations, Mfundi Vundla and his beautiful wife Karen were there. The old man is starting to look his age now…

He gave a speech about when he first met Connie and about her time on Generations. It was a serious and emotional speech.

He kept his hands in his pockets the whole time and I believe Kuli asked him the most hilarious question about why he kept his hands in his pocket. Let’s hope they’ll show it on Headline this coming Thursday :-)

Carol Manana did a brilliant job as MC.

She is doing much better than the last time we saw her in August.

Super socialite and Connie’s Generations colleague Sophie Ndaba arrived fashionably late. I think she was coming from Generations… judging by that typical Queen hairdo. I liked her dress in front but not quite the rope like kris kros at the back.

Aaaah man! Sonia Sedibe must be the most beautiful pregnant woman in Joburg. (Well, make that “openly pregnant” seeing that some are hiding their baby bumps). She’s posing here with the sweet Pastor Kabelo Mabalane who complained that I follow him everywhere heheheh. Kabelo also arrived late because he first had to start at Loyiso Bala’s CD launch.

Palesa Mocuminyane also graced the event.

If you were wondering where she’s hiding, Palesa is now hosting Gospel Gold on SABC 1. For a Godly show, Gospel Gold sure chops and changes its presenters. Can they not pray for ONE good  & holy presenter who will stick around for a while…

Proverb and his beautiful wife were there. Proverb performed for Connie… 2010 has been very good to him.

My gal, my star, my diva, my hero Redi Direko came with her hot husband… tjo, don’t let the pictures fool you, Redi’s man is beautiful and I’m sorry that my photographer didn’t capture them together. I couldn’t help but go “awww…” when watching Redi and hubby together… giggling, chatting away like they’re new lovers…  You can see they’re still very much in the honeymoon phase… love it :-)

I had never met Redi before and I had to sit down and think about what I was gonna say to her lol… She was cool though…

Rami Chuene and her hubby… I’m sorry but I always forget his name… hubby is Mr Sho’s colleague on Scandal….

Connie’s mom, dad and mom in law came to support…

Okay, I would really like to know… how does Nthato Mashishi get invited to every event in town? Not that I mind coz I think he’s a very sweet guy… I just wonder how it’s possible? He looked stylish as always and I love Tshedi Mholo’s short hair. Really looks great on her… do you still remember she used to have long locks?

She performed Destiny and another song that I didn’t like… It wasn’t about me though, long as Connie enjoyed it and she seemed to.

Winnie Modise aka Khethiwe was there and for a change without her hott husband. She wasn’t talking to me at first coz I missed her birthday party a few months ago but by the end of the night we were talking again… Shwashwi didn’t like her dress.. shim whispered to me… but we’ll read what the column says.

Penny Lebyane is quite the socialite these days and I she’s  on some “Penny got her groove back”  tip , rocking them minis well! She’s here with Lupi Ngcayisa, who’s also, always looking fresh! Love this man!

Thandy Maila and Sonia Sedibe. She’s clearly carrying a gal, see how hott she looks? lol.

And I loved Sonia’s hair, don’t understand why it can’t also be beautiful on Generations. Her “boyfriend” (as she calls him) Leslie wasn’t there.

My my my my…. how hott is Terry Pheto bathong?? Terry baby, those braids look beautiful on you (mara the day you take them out you’re gonna sit them).. your make up is on point… and anyone who still looks beautiful sitting next to Doris Msibi is HAUTE so yah umuhle ntombazana!

I love Doris, she’s much taller than I imagined… and no, Thabiso Tema over there wasn’t her date, he came with another lady, not sure if she’s his wife.

The couple of the moment sharing cake… They are too cute for words, no wonder people spread rumours.

During Tshedi Mholo’s performance Connie took to the dance floor to show us her moves….

So did Proverb and his wife.

According to Sunday World, Mr Sho is leaving Scandal in January 2011. He and wife are also shooting a new movie together… There was another guest at the party who “sort of” gave me and my “sidekick” a hint on what the couple’s next move could be… We’ll keep our eyes open heheh.

As soon as the “VIPs” left, Connie got out of her VIP dress and we started “gubulizing” on the dance floor with DJ Sbu and Trevor Madondo…

Yho, this woman can dance shem… it was really a fabulous night, spent with equally beautiful people.

It was also great chatting with Bongie Alexandra who shared her peace pipe with me and thanked me for “promoting” them. hehehe I love Joburg!

Thank you Connie and Mr Sho for the awesome night… and the goodie bag was so heavy, and you know “heavy” is good, right!

Here’s to another stunning 40 years Mrs Fergie! I wanna look like you when I’m 40! :-D

    1. Love the short hair cut ya Connie, the best hairstyle on her ever IMO. Loooove the dress….the colour of the dress i believe is CRIMSON PINK (that was my graduation hood colour,but hey i could be wrong by 2% of a shade..this new colour schemes are just too much)

    This must have been the best Event I have attended this year. Wow,everything was on point and I mean EVERYTHING. Mr & Mrs Ferguson,you are loved.

    Kuli is an angel,love her craziness. She was just hlanyaring on the dance floor all by herself.

    Rami & hubby Tshepo are soooooooo cute. Rami is a fun person to be around,she always has a way of making me laugh.

    Ok,so Mrs Verb was there? I remember one day I was minding my own business on Twitter and I came across a conversation between Mrs Verb & Dineo Ranaka about people who lie about their age. Dineo was questioning DJ Sbu’s age but then Proverb’s wife said Connie Ferguson also lies about her age and has been 33 for years. I was shocked and I asked myself where she was in June because Connie tweeted about her 40th back then and everyone wished her well. SMH @ you Mrs Verb.

    People were looking good :-) With the exception of Kuli, but what the heck… She’s Kuli into zakhe mos lezi. I think ‘Queen’ lol, is to old to be wearing things with a cut out detail.     @MamakaG…when I got pregnant I gained so much weight and I cudnt loose after delivering. Even namanje Im struggling to loose weight. Went from a size 32\34 and manje Im 36 going to 38.

    Kwaaaaa MamaKaG I love the gym…its like a drug to me.
    I do races as well, I was at the Spar Ladies Marathon, did 10km and I did 21kms ku Pick n Pay marathon…tjo I almost died.

    Terry has such an honest face just like a baby. She’s beautiful. i think Redi’s face has suffered from over-exercising, still love her thou she has achieved and she’s good at what she does.
