MTV Base’s MAMA Soiree

On Thursday, MTV Base hosted one helluva party to toast the South African artists nominated in the 2010 MTV Africa Music Awards. The do was held at the swanky Jabulani Lounge in the Hyatt Hotel, Rosebank. As I walked in, the first person I spotted was Azania Ndoro who is loooking uber uber hot! The MTV peeps have promised me pictures so hopefully you’ll get to see what I’m talking about but I managed to get a couple so will share them with you.
The soiree was hosted by MTV VJ Sizwe Dhlomo, yeah he still works for them, can you believe it? Well, he couldn’t stay for long because he had to go do his YFM show so rapper AKA took over MC duty when he left and did a fair job of it too. I had to ask who he was coz honestly shem, I can’t keep up with all these new faces… even saw L-Tido’s face for the first time… I mean, I know his music but didn’t know what he looked he like…. eish. old age..
Anyway.. on to the party. The SA artists that were being honoured for their MAMAs nominations are The Parlotones (Best Video : Life Design), Jozi (Artist of the Year), JR (Song of the Year : Show Dem), Big Nuz (Best Anglophone), Teargas (Best Group), Black Coffee (Best Male) and Liquideep (Best Song ? Fairytale). Jozi, JR, Teargas, Big Nuz gave stunning performances for those who attended and at one point I forgot that it was a school night and that i had work the next day… damn MTV Base, keep on this lane and you’ll def give SABC 1 a run for their money in the party stakes! We had an awesome time!
Now, who was there…. mmmh…
A day after winning the Fag Hag of The Year, Dineo was out of the bubble wrap and out and about. Spotted on the red carpet with her friend, Karabo Modikwane.
DJ Fisherman of the “Happy Song” Fame was there too, hanging out with Kwela Tebza.
It was good to see Zonke again… been a while but she’s still looking as hot as ever!
Your gal B came was there, looking uber sexy. Love her hair!
Alex Okosi who is a Senior Vice President and Managing Director of MTV Networks Africa spotted having a bit of fun on the red, with Penny Lebyane and Lesley Mofokeng. I hear there’s a trail of broken hearts in SA lol… niyalayeka.
Sbu and Trevor were there to vandalize the do!
Nominated for artist of the year, Jozi were there… mmmh Da Les is a charmer hle… tjo.
Bongie Alexander from Red Carpet VIP seems to be quite the socialite these days… spotted at this and that party. Someone asked me how she got an invite to Connie Ferguson’s do… lol don’t know why they were asking me… Anyway, she’s spotted here with Fashion Blogger, Maque De Gorgeous, who still needs to explain the whole “man clutch” bag thingy…
Big Nuz… sigh.. Don’t know why the other one wore the green Heineken thing… it was hot as hell.
My Word! Thapelo Mokoena neh! Hotness… He was there with his girlfriend Lesego, but I couldn’t photograph them together so I stole a moment!
Damn, I promised not to write about them but sorry, they’re just too cute together… you should read their tweets. Awww! Hope they stay together for a long long long time to come… I love happy endings 
We also said goodbye to Bonang, who left to take part in the Tropika Island of Treasure in Thailand. So if you don’t see her this week on LIVE, you know why.
JR was there, looking all stylish!
Teargas has been booked to perform at the MAMA ceremony in Lagos.
I so laughed when Sizwe told them that even though they do Hip Hop, they do not look like hip hop stars….
This guy said it’s because they don’t want to “intimidate” anyone lol…
Jozi also did their thing on stage and Sizwe did a bit of a Q & A with them… I love Ishmael to no end but shame, I always feel like he’s more comfortable singing than answering questions lol… I have an interview with him, which I’ll post as soon as Youtube allows me 
DJ Zinhle is fast becoming a “must have” for any party… the girl does her thing on the decks and you gotta love her! She is looking damn sexy too and I loved how that LBD hugged her well toned body… mmmh!
It’s always a pleasure watching Big Nuz perform… Durban’s taken over!!!
I don’t think there’s anyone who attended the do and didn’t have a great time so well done MTV Base and DSTV for being such great hosts! The champagne was enjoyed by all! Now let’s take this to Lagos neh!
