New Year Resolutions: ‘Believe In Those?

January 4, 2011 by

Wow, finally, we’ve said goodbye to one of the best years of my life: 2010! Best because of all the lesson that I learned, all the people that I met and the experiences enjoyed. Now it’s 2011, a new year, new experiences will follow, new people, new challenges, new gossip, new celebs, new music, new everything… and as usual, at the start of a new year, some people make plans and resolutions on what they are going to do to improve their lives.

I don’t really believe in sitting down to write New Year’s Resolutions but some years I do come up with one or two things that I plan on doing or doing better. Obviously, I do hope that each year I will grow and be successful in whatever I attempt but I don’t know if that’s what “New Year Resolutions” refers to really? Or whether it means stopping to do what you did the previous year and doing “new things”? Whatever it means…

Here are a few things (ones that I can publicly share i.e.) that I have decided to leave in 2010 and STOP doing:

And in 2011, I will:

  • Pay more attention to the business side of JC.
  • Be a better mom
  • Unlock my heart, give love a chance and stop being a “flight risk” (as my friend calls me) and running away at the first sight of imperfection.

hehehe did I just write down “Resolutions”? Now it’s YOUR turn…

  • Do you believe in making resolutions?
  • What are your resolutions?
  • And if you were to write down new years’ resolutions for our SA Celebrities, who would you write resolutions for and what would those be?

Happy 2011 JC readers and thank you for staying with us. :-)

This year, I’ll get my diploma. Get my licence. Work on my body and lifestyle and start my little nail and lashes business.
Khanyi Mbau should work at being a more involved mom to her daughter… Penny Lebyane should find a man already and so should Chomee. Sizwe Dhlomo should just focus on working behind the Mic and away from our tv screens while the twins should get rid of those hideous haircuts.

Kwaaaaa Thuli, I feel the same about the twins hair.
I don’t believe in resolutions as such but I set goals for each year and I mostly achieve them.

    Happy New year errybody!!!

I decided this year I’m not gonna have ‘resolutions’ but call them ‘the plan’. I plan to do things that make me smile. I love the feeling I get after running in the morning, so I plan to do more of that. I plan to visit places in our country that I’ve always wanted to see (bought flight tickets to one for march already nge bonus heheh). But mostly ngiplana uk’ba happy. Let go of things that I can’t control.

I hope Freshlyground have shows around the country. I’m obsessed with their music but I don’t know where to see them live

    Happy New Year to ya’ll.

    Resolutions

    * kickboxing classes (need to kick ex hubby’s ass for not maintaining his child) for fitness too
    * Dance Class (am very stiff, need to loosen up)
    * Pass first year of the course I’ve registered for at Wits Plus (don’t drop out or fail)
    * Find means to make extra cash by actioning that business idea, to think dollars have been passing right under my nose, *sigh*
    * Change Job
    * Buy my first house
    * keep a note book/diary (for the whole year in good condition)
    * Find that rich shag *hides*
    * Downgrade car (wanna go to more holidays than paying expensive car instalment) and get a diesel one(petrol is expensive)

I’d like to achieve 70% of these resolutions….even half would be great.

On toxic on & off affairs, another relationship helps to get over it, well a good one, bad ones after him make him look good, hence keep going back.

Am glad I managed to get rid of mine, tho we still keep in touch I don’t have the urge to see him like before

I generaly don’t make resolutions, but 4 this yr I made an exeption…. I resolve 2 stop bringing work home – if I can’t fit it in 40hrs a week, then sory Boss…..

As 4 celebreties – KZN hip-hop/ kwaito/ house artists must loose some kilos shame….

It would also b nyc if there can b no new gospel artist dis yr, hayi basixakile obubuninzi nkosi….

Its also local gov elections dis yr – many tv personalities wil take up piece-jobs as field reporters – I wish 4 Siyabonga Ngwekazi not 2 take this job- he is a gud al-rounder, but now he is just everywhere…….

  29. MAESESLA on Wed, 12th Jan 2011 2:19 pm

Ressolutions nhe… do you remember during our high school years, U’d get those guys who wud try/pretend to be serious during the first months of the year( coz last year they nearly failed and they were condoned). every time u’d find them reading a book. Theyd sit and study in class even when the teacher is not there. they’d even study chapters that the teacher hasn’t dealt with yet… that is done Jan,Feb & bigining of March. come april the spirit is no longer… U will be the one telling them u guthi ” ni ya rasa” if U were that kind of person in high school… please sweety nawe bhuti… don’t bother ngama ressolutions… they are not for U.

  30. lejazz on Wed, 12th Jan 2011 2:28 pm

There is no need to write resolutions because one end up beating themselves up especially if things are not going their way.

So what I will do is just set the goals and try to work hard at them cos as for writing them down NO NO NO
