Dickies’ Soweto Experience

I’m one of those guys who suffer from FOMO (Fear of missing out), so when I got the invite to the Dickies “Out Of The Box” Soweto experience with Dickies i knew I wanted to go. The event took place in Panyaza, Soweto. I’ve always seen a lot of tweets about this place so I was a bit curious to know what the hype was about. It’s quite a chilled ghetto place, nice for a Sunday visit.

Event Organiser, Jerri Mokgofe made sure that we were really ama VIP vele.


Free booze, free meat (braai’ed) and free snacks. The thing with me is that when I see a lot of food, I automatically become full nje out of the blue. My tummy only starts making sounds when I get home.

I thought I was gona see new faces, but I guess I was wrong. Same faces, but at least I never get tired of them as they are great company. There weren’t a lot of celebs, you will see from the pics but we still had fun noetheless.

Mina and Xolani at the VIP section. tl tl tl it was not bad neh? And the music was great too.

Sade was also there with Michelle. It was good seeing this fun and lovely lady as I hardly see her at events.


Somgaga also showed face, tjo these chairs looks like the ones I used to sit on in primary le ezilalini.


Linda Moeketsi was also there, I actually thought he stole his younger bro’s t-shirt but he said it was his.

All in all thank you Jerri for taking care of your guests and thanks for the out of the box Soweto experience, I think ya’ll need to try out this Panyaza place but mina it was my first and last time going there *winks*

    I like what Sunshine is wearing. It says easy, township look; but also put together with effort.

    Dumi is such a stylish guy and handsome. Nka mo dira. Only, apparently cats are not his animals of persuasion.

    Somgaga…something doesn’t look right with him. Both him and tha Linda guy actually have the same starved look.

    haha Lebza, you know when you say you automatically get full once seeing alot of food blah blah blah, I know exactly what you mean. It happens to me as well!

    It does look chilled here, mara they must renovate this place, get proper chairs etc…

    This event was so much fun. Big ups to Jerri and Dickies! Let’s hope this set the tone for other event organisers to be original with their venues.
