NO WONDER talented people like RJ Benjamin gave up on showing their faces in this industry!! Its like an episode of modern day Generations or eKasi Stories #EpicFail

Hawu BS my girls Heels ove Head are missing in the Contempoaray Jazz category, mara why? Its thier debut album and they did it without Sindi Nene who left the group after the Idols hype. congrats to them. Really, u Chomee no Ntombi Ngcobo are SAMA nominees, thats just crazy. Maybe if it was an award ceremony for skanky artists I wound understand but in the SAMA’S,hayo khona.

  74. lele011 on Thu, 14th Apr 2011 10:02 am

Konje how does the committe decide on the ‘record of the year’ nominees? is it the most popular songs within that time frame or what? because i thought DJ Clock had some hits which people really loved. the politics of the SAMA’s are annoying.
I would really like to know the reason why was Simphiwe Dana not nominated. or didnt she enter?
was there no other talented artists entering for urban pop to have abo Ntombi Ngcobo? i mean really
Congrats to Professor, Dj Kent, Zakes Bantwini, Thandiswa,Liquid deep.

MY moolah is behind Dj Kent, Zakes Bantwini & Proffesor. Hope Siphokazi wins 1 too, humble schweet thing!

Sad that Joyous 14 wasn’t nominated, it was a great album and they had penned most of the songs in the double-disk album.

  84. refilweMK on Thu, 14th Apr 2011 11:14 am

Why are you guyz so surprised that chomee made the list? she does have followers you know & people actually like her hawu..

  95. MsRooi on Thu, 14th Apr 2011 12:46 pm

Bathong! The sadness I felt when I saw that Simphiwe wasn’t nominated! Haow guys, Khuli Chana was nominated last year for best hip hop and other categories! His album is not eligible, just like Lira’s new album.

And Liquid Deep’s song was nominated last year, not the album because they only released it after the allocated time period. Hence their nominated this year. The Grammy Awards do the exact same thing! Let’s do our research before making assumptions.

  96. MsRooi on Thu, 14th Apr 2011 12:52 pm

The SAMAs aren’t the Metro’s, not a popularity contest. Unfortunately..
