Tour Details: Joyous Celebration 15

April 5, 2011 by

Joyous Celebration returns this year to celebrate 15 years of praise, with a six city national tour from 21 April to August 2011. Titled “My Gift to You,” the 2011 Joyous Celebration tour is sure to get believers and worshippers begging for more. The concerts will feature a wide spectrum of songs delivered in vernacular languages as well as  English and Afrikaans.

With this tour, Joyous Celebration also proudly announces its new sponsor MTN who will take them through the national celebration of “My Gift To You.”

“We are truly blessed to have MTN on board as our sponsor this year. We feel that the partnership with MTN will help realise our collective vision and dream for this year’s celebrations,” says Jabu Hlongwane, founding member of the gospel ensemble.

For Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer of MTN SA, the sponsorship is a joyful reunion with an iconic South Africa musical talent:

“We are delighted to be reconnecting with Joyous Celebration as its headline sponsor. Our focus on supporting and developing various local musical genres within the South African industry has been strengthened with this sponsorship. We are looking forward to partnering with this hugely popular gospel ensemble as it spreads its joyous brand of music across the country.

“Using our MTN Play platform, we will promote the MTN Joyous Celebration sound to our customer base, while growing the MTN brand among a new fan base.”

Delighting in the success of their teenaged project, Hlongwane boasts:

“I am deeply overjoyed to find ourselves here today.  Each and every member of MTN Joyous Celebration, past and present, on-stage and behind the scenes, has played a very substantial role in the success of our family. It’s been a divine journey.”

The first stop for “My Gift To You” will be the South African State Theatre in Tshwane with six shows scheduled from 21-24 April. Tickets retail from R150 to R300 via Computicket and bookings are now open.

Following the Pretoria concert, the next stop for the MTN Joyous Celebration tour will be :

  • East London Christian Centre on 3 June 2011.
  • Centenary Hall in Port Elizabeth on 4 June
  • The Grand West Arena in Cape Town on 02 July
  • The ICC Arena in Durban on 30 July and the last stop in Bloemfontein in August.

Mmmh… I”m just wondering. Isn’t it a bit tricky for MTN to be aligning themselves with “christians”? What about their other clients who are Satanists, Hindu and whatever else is out there?

I’m sure they thought it out though…

I think MTN knows very well that supporting Joyous is a smart move coz they are not hectic christians, they are actually entertainers more than worshipors. By the way, did ya’ll read abt the girl (the one who always has blonde bonding or braids, sings soprano, dunno her name) neway yenake, left her long time pastor husband for one of the band members…..sies….eish kodwa phela these people spend months and months together at hotels, rehearsing and performing on tour, so obviously IMPENE izovuka…..LOL
