Hastings At The SAMAs

So the much-awaited SAMA17 finally took place on Saturday. Fashion strikers, offenders and all the different classes of celebrities came out to play despite the limited invites rollout.

As the twiporters have already put it out there, chaos and irritation were the opening act. There were too many people everywhere and “exclusive” venues on every corner. The maze-setup also didn’t help. An attempt to get to the MAIN yellow carpet was as unpleasant as a bimbo model trying to explain a heart transplant.

Moving the event to Monte was also not an entirely dire alternative to Sin City. BUT could have been way better perhaps had more competent individuals been deployed?

With a world-class hostess like the first-lady, Bonang, and talented controversy king, Phat Joe, no one can go wrong. They held it down to the core… and did so in equally impressive bravura, given the unfavorable circumstances.

Enough talking! Let’s see who popcorn-ed.

Self-proclaimed “Hottest” 35 year old and fashion striker, Penny Lebyane looked rather ok considering she has set very high standards. Yes, we refuse to settle for less than your best Penny!!


Another Fashion Striker, Uyanda Mbuli, ravished but not much as she always does. Thing is, when your name is Uyanda we always want to use your pictures to define “best dressed”. Perhaps she was giving other kids a chance to shine?


Does anyone care to explain why Khanyi Mbau is so calm lately? Premature old age perhaps? She opted for a female tux, while the masses went for prom dresses.


Spotted Jen Su with one of her many headgears. Lisel scorched up in sneakers. Uyanda has started a cool trend… and it works when the right person experiments with it, like Lisel did.


Still on headgears, it seems Jen Su has a fan in Mo Flavo’s co-host ,Eda-Rose, who also rocked one (head gear).


VOW FM DJ/ YOTV’s Karabo looked age-appropriate and effortlessly glam. Keep it up!


Shall we have a moment of silence in celebration of Ntombi Ngcobo’s happy chest?

Queen of gossip, or Egypt, Mika Stefano clearly has issues letting go. How else do we explain the Egyptian theme carrying onto the SAMAs? It’s been a week already Mika, get over the (party theme) hangover already.


Anyways, I’m trying to pave my way into heaven… so I’ll let the pictures do the rest, after all, a pictures is worth a thousands words.

    Jen Sue’s fabric doesn’t work at all. Looks like a designer rain coat. All that’s missing are amabhuzu to go with it.

    That Ada Rose chick, she should have kept that outfit for the DBN July. And she’s such a groupie, it’s annoying. Always taking pics with celebs, you can see she’s new in the industry shem.

    I think Khanyi’s tux worked but it would have been perfect if she rocked men’s formal shoes with it. Speaking of her, when is she gonna admit that Professor is playing in her cookie jar?

    Rumour has it all the only miss Zama Ngcobo shared or is still sharing a bed with mr Kunene, one night at zar- kenny managed it very well by keeping Eda in a seperate v.i.p but zama couldn’t help it, she made sure that it was clear tht kenny is not taking Eda home tht night…I can assure u tht aint the only one who saw that drama when the international artists we’re at Zar…miss ngcobo u r such a bully?
