We Miss You, Where Are You?
May 3, 2011 by Kiki
The Entertainment Industry launches new faces every time and when we have a new kid on the block, then we are bound to have those who choose to quit the industry & just disappear, or those who get kicked out by it. We also have the veterans of the game and it’s those that have managed to stay on top of their game simply by either luck, chance, blessings, talent, fate or by any means necessary. (We will do an article on them too, just to encourage them to keep going)
I decided to compile a list of those that left a mark in the industry and would love to see back on our screens doing what they are good or bad at. It’s quiet strange that 99% of the people on my list were on Soapies. These are the people who at some point made our jaws drop. I know some of them might have chosen other avenues but guys we miss you, where are you?
Dini Nondumo

At some point he was considered one of the hottest men in the Industry. He played the role of Tendai on Backstage and went on to steal more hearts as Vuyo Nogabu on Generations. Last time I saw him on TV was the day Vuyo came to take Lumka to London.
Zolile Nokwe/Tafadzwa Kuuya:

Don’t know which name to use because naye he used both. He was Noah on Generations, the guy who almost got married to his own twin sister. There were days when he used to drive me up the wall but the most memorable moments for me were his scenes with Khaya Motene. Where are you TafaZoli?
Charl Timotheus:

I think Ziggy was such eye candy. I used to enjoy watching him on Backstage and there was always something new ngaye nje. Memorable moments for me were the days Ziggy was dating Keketso which was played buy Katlego Danke and when Backstage brought in his ‘twin brother’.
Carlo Radebe:

This dude was classic. A lot of people hated his voice but that’s what kept me glued to the screen for Backstage. Duke was a business man and a hard core criminal, very street wise. But the day he faked his own death and just rose from the dead when people were mourning him takes the trophy. The last time I saw him on screen, he was playing some side kick to another criminal on the drama A Place Called Home.
Keren Tahor.

Nirvana was EVIL on Scandal. From stalking people, lies, backstabbing and crushing on the married Stan to an extent of stealing his sperm? Hai drama shem. She played that part so well pity I never got to see her again except on that Life Insurance Policy commercial with Joey Rasdien. I hear she is from Israel,I guess that explains that sexy accent.
Camilla Waldman:

Another evil madam this one. I fell in love with her on Gaz’ Lam and that was before she went on to play Anne De Villiers on Generations. Heheheh the 1st thing that comes to mind was when she took control of Busi. SMH
Rudeboy Paul Mnisi:

I remember Lelo & myself used to have a crush on Rudi. There was just something about him. He had ubuntu this guy. He was good in everything he did: Radio, Music and presenting Lilizela Mlilizeli. He went on to present The Kids Are Alright but I must say I felt like he lost his Mojo the day he cut his dreadlocks. I have searched everywhere for him with no luck, not even on Twitter.
Mandisa Nakana.

Former Yo Tv presenter. OMW this gal was always surrounded by drama. Rumours of her being in a relationship with both Rudi & Badboy at the same time. She was also rumoured to have fallen pregnant during her presenting on YO-TV. Poor child, it was too much. I must say Mandisa made YO TV worth waching. She was good. I last saw her presenting some grave yard online casino kinda game show. She is now Mandisa Nakana- Taylor.
Mandla Hlatshwayo:

Heheheh this Siphiwe made dating older women so attractive shem. His relationship with Zinzi on Generations was the isht. I heard he is now a DJ, no idea where? We miss you on TV Mandla.
Pamela Nomvete:

I have absolutely nothing to say about Ntsiki. We all know how brilliant this woman was. Where is she bandla?
Abena Ayivor:

I remember her mainly for her role as Lerato on Generations. I can’t believe this lady has disappeared just like that? I hope she is still acting wherever she is because we wouldn’t want to talk about talent gone to waste.
Portia Joel:

Portia Portia Portia. Do you guys remember Sonny Jacobs in Generations? I had no idea that he is Portia’s father. She played Randy Adams on Generations and was at some point in a relationship with Bradley. I then saw her on Home Affairs in a small-nyana role. It’s sad to see young talent disappearing without a trace. Portia, waar ookal jy is.. weet dat jy ge-mis word.
Chichi Letswalo:

She is known for that husky voice of hers that some people loved. Thinking back to her days on Backstage, it was rumored that she was in a relationship with Leroy Gopal on and off screen. On Generations she played the evil Zandi chick that kidnapped Lumka. Chichi is a good presenter too. We miss her.
Leroy Gopal:

This Zimbabwean born actor reminds me of Akin Omotoso. So laid back but straight to the point. His role on Backstage stood out. Those who watched the movie Yellow Card where he played a soccer player will agree with me when I say ‘there goes talent’
Charity Sehlohole:

Wow! The first time I saw Charity on TV, she was on Teens On A Tight Rope with Lesego & that Queeneth chick. She went on to Yizo Yizo and made all the Supatsela guys lose their minds. The role she played on Mzansi was the best for me but I’m sure most of you remember her as Thandeka Mashaba on Generations. It’s sad that her so called ‘friends’ have been running to the papers saying she is/was suffering in the UK. We want you on our screens gal. There is no place like home.
Loyiso Mangena:

Chippa made his mark on Backstage and I will never forget his fights with Duke. He then moved to music, joined forces with Mzambiya but he has gone quiet again. To think he presented Ba Kae? and now we are asking ourselves gore yena o ko kae?
Well, there are a lot of our stars that we would love to see on TV again. Xolile Tshabalala, Felicity Shiba, Thembi Skosana, Pushy Pushy, V-Mash, Stephina Zwane, Thobi Mkhwanazi etc.
Which other ones come to your minds guys? Let’s go down memory lane.

Abena Ayver and Pamela Nomvete…i get Chills just looking at their pics recalling their great delievery on screen.
Heee, nna ne, i fell inlove with Camilla Waldman on this drama that played when i was in high school…”The Res” i believe it was called, i remember Melusi Yeni was also in there. I loved her character, she was a sweet lady, the total opposite of Anne on generations, to the extent i never quite accepted her role as Anne, to me she will always be that sweet varsity music teacher who was so “Zen-ish”.
And yebo yes, nami i loved Duke’s accent on Backstage.
Kiki on Tue, 3rd May 2011 8:40 am

Last i heard was that chichi’s American dream was not working out well.lady had the most amazing hips for a thin lady and her voice was simply orgasmic.the chemistry and skill of the presenters of the wedding show was world class. I hear Xolile is going to be in a new soap coming soon. I hope Faye will be there too.she brings out the best in Xolile
Mapakisha on Tue, 3rd May 2011 10:18 am

*Mandisa Taylor is also living in the UK with hubby and two kids and she is presenting a kiddies show atleast she is embracing the English with her presence on their tv Screens…
*Charity Sehlohole the so called rumours were true, she was having it hard, she has a toddler and because of the child is a citizen there she probably has her papers now… It’s really sad that people with talent make hasty decisions for the wrong reasons.

That Leroy Gopal guy (I didn’t even know his name)I think its him that plays a truck driver in Paradise Stop.
Ntsiki lost her mojo when he left generations, I last saw her on Muvhango and she was not looking good.
@Kiki I think you forgot that British Guy Hakeem Kae Kazim (of Mazinyo.Q fame), I met his brother in Germany and he says he’s doing well as an actor in the US. big up to him.
Do you guys notice that when actors leave generations it’s like the end of the road for them. *sad*
