Things That Annoy Me

A couple of weeks ago BS published an article titled “that’s so annoying” and I went on to turn it into a trending topic on twitter. I just thought that I should use this platform and articulate a few things that rub me off the wrong way. Now here is my warning, if you hate reading an article filled with bitching, moaning and complaining; then stop reading right now. Here we go:

BBM

I keep the ‘show what I’m listening to’ box checked all the time. For those of you stuck in the dark ages without Blackberry’s, this feature allows people to see the title of whatever you’re playing on your phone. I watch a lot of my series and movies on my Blackberry. Now explain to me, why are you trying to chat with me when you can see, ‘Greys Anatomy S07E22’ displayed next to my name!? So I must pause what I am watching and attend to you?

Do not send me purple messages, period! I do not care if it is petition in support of cancer victims! Me adding my name there and annoying other people by passing it on is not going to have an effect on the price of bread in Singapore.

Children

Look, I am not a fan of kids. It is worse when they are little spoilt demons. This is my constitutional right; you cannot crucify me for not liking kids just because you do. Just as I do not crucify someone that hates puppies. Keep your rowdy spawn of Satan away from me or I will say something to it that will leave it attending weekly therapy sessions until it turns 21. What’s cute to you is not cute to me.

You are aware that your child is no Halle Berry or Trey Songz and it is your duty to love and adore him/her as a parent BUT it is not mine.

Twitter

You have me on BBM and WhatsApp, why are you greeting me on twitter? Now 1580 people have to be subjected to us exchanging pleasantries?

You have 50 followers are you that over ambitious and naive to think that I will engage in a Twar with you?

Not everyone is like DJ Zinhle. Just because she offered her BBM PIN to the public does not make it a standard practice. Stop asking people that you do not know for their PINs. Some things are meant to remain personal.

Communication

I do not care whether you’re European, African, American or Asian, bad grammar pisses me off.

Fanakalo, is a Durban-based language used by Indian people to communicate to their workers. It is a sickening version of IsiZulu. E.g. Get out of here before I hit you = “Wena hamba lapha khaya, mina zoshaya kawena!” I cannot even describe how I feel when an Indian person speaks to me in that language.

Jozi People

Listen, Johannesburg is like America, it does not belong to any ethnic group. Just because your grandparents relocated here before me does not give you entitlement to this city. Calm down! This city belongs to everyone that wants to dwell in it. Nobody is from here!

Blogging

For you to publish your thoughts and expect people to read them, they have to be at least interesting. We are tired of reading boring, mundane and badly articulated rubbish all over the internet.

To those that comment on blogs; stop telling bloggers how disappointed you are in them for having a different opinion than yours. I, for one, don’t really care if you are disappointed in me. I am not here to be your mentor or role model. I am here to publish my opinion and open room for constructive debate.

Facebook

My relationship status saying, ‘in a relationship’ is not there as mating call. I am really in a relationship.

I haven’t attended any of the events that you have invited me to, why do you still bother?

I am in Johannesburg, why are you sending me event invites for parties in Grahamstown and Durban? To annoy me, perhaps?

Respect peoples walls! Do not just write whatever you feel like saying. Some people have family and co-workers as friends.

Beyonce Worshippers

You people are what cult horror movies are made of. Beyonce is not God’s gift to music. Yes, she is an amazing and dedicated performer and she should be respected for that but you people take it a bit too far.

It is NOT attractive that you’re a man that emulates a pop diva. It wasn’t cute during the Diana Ross era, it is not cute now!

STOP requesting that we listen to Beyonce at every event. I do not want to hear her at a Sunday braai.

Gossip Folk

Gone are the days when people used to keep secrets. These days you cannot gossip about someone without them knowing. Stop talking crap behind people’s backs! Me not confronting you about the things that you say behind my back does not mean that I am not aware; it just means that I don’t really care about your misinformed opinion of me.

Weight

Unless you have issues with your weight, stop commenting on other people’s weight. There are many reasons for people being big besides over eating and lack of exercise. Ignorance much?

Big people, have mirrors, they do not need your social commentary to remind them. The worst thing is that, it is the people that are a fur coat away from looking like apes that feel the need to make comments about people’s weight. Usfumba ubona uqhaqhazela.

Jozi Drivers

Besides, many cars and crappy off ramps, another large contributing factor for unwarranted traffic is the curiosity of the drivers in this city. Please explain to me, the road has 4 lanes, why does everyone slow down when there is a broken down vehicle on the side of the road!? That is just ridiculous! It is not even like the car is blocking any of the lanes but now we are all driving at 40km/h because of a few nosey morons!

Nonhle Thema

This is getting serious. What is wrong with this woman!? As someone that studied marketing and branding, I am not oblivious to the fact that this could be one big marketing campaign to get the nation talking BUT if it is, then an idiot is behind it. It is all good to get people hyped up about your brand but not to a point where it hurts the band identity. Especially when it is an established brand that took years to build. Nonhle has moved from being SA’s sweetheart to a national joke among her peers and the general public. Everyone is convinced that she has completely lost.

Unless her tweets are a preparation for her new reality show called “Nonhle Goes to Fort Napier”, they need to stop.

I think I will end my little rant here and open the floor for those that want to condemn me for the things written above and for those who wish to add on to it.

Is it just me or has Mablerh reached is JC sell by date??

Cause lately irrespective of his strong persona most JC bloggers have developed a Mablerh allergy.

Nothing that he writes is ‘appreciated’ anymore and I recall being a silent blogger when he was introduced to us as Blessing and all intro ‘biography’ and everyone was so happy to have a breath of fresh air..

What happened?
Did his style of writing breed halitosis?
Or is this what happens when a writer over-stays their ‘path’ and what was once appreciated has turned into decay where people just thrive on nibbling on each and every article with clouded criticism than actually reading an article for what it is and commenting about the merits without ALWAYS feeling the need to feed of the writer in this case Mablerh..

I must say JC has changed and I look at it as a positive change..

The evolution of this blog has humbled me as I love reading anything just to stimulate my braincells and reading people’s opinions and objections without or with limited biased is awesome

And the bloggers (you guys) are what makes this site great among the rest (I believe as I never even bothered to browse and see what’s out there)

The gossip , the sclebb ground breaking news and nton nton is all nice (sometimes) to read and discuss but what you Kusi and the rest have to say about life and all its merits from YOUR point of view makes JC website hits all worth it..

@softy – I do think that Mablerh’s confidence (and arrogance sometimes lol) can come across as a bit overbearing.. I know that sometimes, even though I appreciate his articulate writing, I get put off by his seemingly overbearing opinions. Onale AURA ya bo “know -it-all” and “I’m smarter that everyone else” even though that may not be the case…

So @ Dexter say what you said above is true and that this whole annoying article is actually about Mablerh’s colon defect, you want to tell me that what he is actually telling us, if one reads between the lines , is that his kilimanjaro-poep is not due to letting himself go (God knows where) but the VAT is actually due to medical condition???

I hear and understand perfectly what u said, and my take as a devil’s advocate is that sometimes what u think you pick up from someone is actually ur own energy and projection towards the particular person (in this case our very own Mablerh)

Let me give u an example
I often refuse to type a message to a friend and always feel compelled to add animations , if not the LOL’s or GOL’s if not any add-on that would showcase the mood or mode I am in when I typed what I said and mind you this is someone whom knows me by now and how I flow with words and Joneigh’s Aura..

The reasin why I refuse to do that is because by now as my friend , as someone I have been connected with thru AEIOU exchanges you SHOULD know by now when I am kidding , being light hearted, serious, sarcastic, bored, or just plain witty coupled with dry sense of humor..

You Sushi as my friend should know that by now.

As I feel like this is the same principles that should be applied when it comes to blogging and chatting with pseudo data bundles u never met, BUT you have formed a cyber relationship over a period of adjusting to Mablerh’s writing and what he says if not how he says it..

By now you should know when he is being jesty (sp)
By now u should know and understand when he has hit a writers brick wall (block)

By now u should be able to pick up when he is just-Nje writing and when he is brilliant at is projections.

Just yesterday he wrote the Shaka Curse article, and it was so well written, so properly researched that his ‘haters’ (lol yes I am pulling a Nonhle on u) didn’t comment, couldn’t comment, cos they saw nothing wrong with his article..I’m sure some even used binoculars to see if he might have put a . (Dot) instead of a , (comma) and they would have moaned about that (afraid to say bitch)

Lastly

When you have formed a negative Aura against someone for whatever reason that energy acts as a barrier, it doesn’t matter what they say, how they say it , you will always projects fault finding towards that person
