Nonhle & VuzuTV Part Ways

Here is the press release issued by Mnet. Read it and make up your mind…

M-Net’s youth channel Vuzu and presenter Nonhle Thema have mutually decided to put their on-screen relationship on hold.

Nonhle Thema has been a familiar face on Vuzu for the past two years after several stints on M-Net’s Channel O. Once a week, she kept Vuzu audiences in the loop of the latest entertainment gossip in the popular magazine show V Entertainment and earlier this year, she had the tongues wagging with her own reality show Nonhle goes to Hollywood.

Solly Moeng, Acting Channel Head of Vuzu, says Nonhle will be pursuing her own projects for now.

“Vuzu is a dynamic brand which give young talent the opportunity to shine on television. It’s our vision to launch the careers of many more local personalities while we continue to enthrall our viewers with the entertainment Vuzu has become famous for.

“Vuzu stars such as Nonhle have contributed to making Vuzu the second coolest TV channel in the country, as voted for by participants in this year’s Sunday Times Generation Y research. Vuzu would like to thank Nonhle for her contributions to the channel and wishes her well with her new ventures.”

Nonhle commends M-Net for giving her her big break into the industry.

“It has been great being a part of Channel O and Vuzu, but it’s time to move on. I will always have fond memories of the shows and people I worked with and look forward to a bright future for me and the channels. We need to keep on growing.”

If Nonhle’s recent tweets are anything to go by… she’s starting her own channel and is going to be the next Oprah. Mmmh.

Anyway, I doubt this was mutual, her behaviour must’ve cost her the job and I’m glad something like this happened…. Hopefully she’ll realise that she’s messing up, get back to her senses and stop whatever she’s “doing” … I am one of those who are disappointed that someone who’s held it together for so long could just mess up like this. “Just Twitter” or not…

Nonhle get help love,  we need your old self back.

P.S. What do they mean they’ve put the relationship on hold? Like is she going somewhere, e.g. Twitter “rehab” and they’ll reinstate her when she comes back?

    Starting her own channel!? A Show maybe,but a channel is something huge that requires a lot of research. Who is she trying to impress!?

    I REALLY do hope she is leaving Vuzu for something “bigger”,because if what is happening is as a result of her tweets she’ll commit suicide shem. *prays for her*

    As much as I was dissapointed in her, I really did not want something like this to happen. Seriously Nonhle please gather yourself………. Please act like the grown woman you are. I pray for you.     If only you knew what the real story is. The trouble started brewing months ago even before her rants. From what I’ve been told be insiders it has nothing to do with her rants and everything to do with certain execs (which happen to include her) gave the repetoires (runnin with the reps a raw deal). Those execs, including her have been fired

    Nonhle is not only a TV host, she’s got a lot of other things she does… She’s a business woman too. Whether she’s the Face of Dark n Lovely and Vuzu or not, fact remains that she got paid for what she did. She’s got moola, enough to not work anymore only at age 30.
