Still A Hot Trend: The Wild
July 4, 2011 by Dumi Gwebu
The trend this winter season is The Wild, not the soapie my hunnies, taking the walk on the Wild side and I don’t mean Become a jezebel.
Tamaria Motsepe
It’s all about having the confidence to bring out your inner Grrrrrrrr, to look dangerous and sexy.

Stacey Crouse – Fashion Buyer
Leopard print is the new black. It’s so big right now, that if u don’t have it in your wardrobe, you’re not even last season but you’re a fashion embarrassment. My recommendation : kill yourself or jump in a cage with one at your nearest Zoo LOL!
Dumi and Gina from Styling Concepts
Team it with black to tone it down a bit and don’t go all Tarzan & Jane on us.
Fezokuhle & Tumi Voster
To breeze through this winter without being hospitalized for double pneumonia, get think black opaque tights (R75 a pack of 3 Woolworths), they instantly turn a summer dress that u wanna wear in winter season appropriate . Leather gloves are a wardrobe must.
YFM Twins
Keep warm.

….I have this permanent mental block when it comes to animal print anything, even my favourite designer’s collections ( Mac Jacob’s) can’t convince me on this trend.
I will happily admire it on other people though, because some do strike the right balance and wear it well. Fezokuhle’s shoes for example look cool on her.

Leopard can be nice when done right.. Eg: keeping it minimal, this is the one trend u don’t want to go over board with. When done wrong u will end up looking like a Jerseylicious girl and that’s just bad. If u not to sure I suggest to stick to accessories cos then atleast that way u are safe..

I’m so so embarrassed. Came to work in jeans. First day at vacation work. I’m dressed semi-formal – nice shirt, trench jacket but for some unknown reason I wore freaking denims and its against the company policy. I didn’t know
The last time I was here was on a Fri & there were people in jeans. Only found out now that jeans areonly allowed on Fri b/c its a ‘casual day’. I’m so embarrassed. Ngilinde u-4 ngihambe. Such a poor first impression :’(

I do like ‘The Wild’ on other people when it is done well i.e. not OTT. It reminds me of Cherel De Villiers-Heins somehow
. I don’t YET have the guts to rock it

I love animal prints, I have a smallanyana collection. I saw these killer animal print shoes at Shoe HQ the other day and I so wanted to buy them but I hadnt budgeted for them so I decided first think about it.
What do you know, the next day when I went to buy them, they were all finished!!! And they had just arrived the previous day.
mamamia on Mon, 4th Jul 2011 2:58 pm
Animal print is back…i bought a leopard print dress like 2 years ago and animal print was in. if you ask me, i don’t think it left.
mamamia on Mon, 4th Jul 2011 3:00 pm
hau @Ms.Zie you make it sound like errbody is in uniform, is it that bad. i mean you are semi formal and that passes in most offices.
Ms.Zie on Mon, 4th Jul 2011 3:07 pm
There’s no uniform, but its the National headquarters in Sandton- so abodarkie are dressed to the nines. ONgamla look normal, uyabazi abana ndaba!
mamamia on Mon, 4th Jul 2011 3:27 pm
