Hush vs Minnie: Eye Witness Account?
August 15, 2011 by Brown Shuga

The following statement was sent to us and Melanie Ramjee, Hush’s Marketing and PR lady. This lady, named Morongwe Mokone, claims that she was sitting at the other table. The one with the London aka foreign national guests. Any spelling or grammar complaints should please be taken up with her, I’m sure you’ll find her at Hush, mina I’m too tired to fix them.
So this is part 4.
Part 1 you can read HERE
Part 2 you can read HERE
Part 3 you can read HERE.
Statement From EYEWITNESS – Minnie’s Hush Incident
I write to you now with sheer disappointment and disbelieve of why Minnie, would put out lies and false statements of what actually took place that night.
A call was made to Jason and Liezel earlier that Friday afternoon to book and confirm a Vip table for London guests.
On getting to Hush we were appointed a Waiter who showed us to our table. We were a group of 8 so the space allocated clashed with that of Minnies table. Minnie and her friends were rude to us and exclaimed on why we were “invading” her space and their table, when in actual fact they had no drinks left on their Table.
We called Jason from the back room to come ease the tension, as we had as much right as she did to be there. Jason came to restore order and was sadly punched in the face in the mist of miscommunication.
Minnie and her friends urged us to move from our table, suggesting the space was too small to have us there even though we were paying guests with more than R10 000 alcohol on the table. Minnie through a fit and asked the owner Stefan to remove us from the table.
Later that evening a random Gentleman came over our table asking who had hit Minnie, it came as a shock to all of us as that had never happened.
Minnie was simply not happy to share the space with foreign nationals. Its a shame that in this day in age we have TV personalities and a role models to a lot of youths out there who would act in the manner that she did. If anyone should be complaining, it should be Jason who not only tried to restore order but was hit in the face.

Haaaai I am in no ways taking sides. But this eye-witness blah blah comes off very one-sided and with a lot of HOLES! But that’s just me.

Hahahahaha that’s bullshit! Lies!!! Hush is trying to cover their story!! Did you see Uyanda Mbuli standing up for Minnie on twitter.

I think Minnie has grown a big head, she thinks she is as big as Bonang but she did not deserve to b beaten up bathong but oksalayo I think together with her friendz plus alcohol bayadelela, she must own up to her rudeness as well
Lela on Mon, 15th Aug 2011 9:19 pm
Mnxm even Stevie Wonder can see this is nonsense!
lorrelai on Mon, 15th Aug 2011 9:19 pm
Then who hit Minnie? Did she smack herself? Sorry Morongwe, I don’t buy it. I was hoping u’d get to a point where Minnie would get assaulted and make be attempt to make some sensr of it all? Look, we get it, Minnie and her friends were “allegedly” rude at some point. Somebody please explain to me why anyone felt that they had to smack her. Xenophobic undertones or not, immature divarish tantrums or not, why hit her and defend the culprit? Are we now saying its ok to be violent?
It’s sickening.
Melanie’s question is right there on the screenmunch, it’s not just Minnie’s response that’s captured
YolandaMeslane on Mon, 15th Aug 2011 9:21 pm
Uhm…. I’m only interested in the assault for now so I am concerned about who “was sadly punched in the face in the mist of miscommunication”? Was it Jason or Minnie???
Because “Later that evening a random Gentleman came over our table asking who had hit Minnie, it came as a shock to all of us as that had never happened.”
So where was Minnie assualted? or rather how did her face get swollen?
Maybe I should take something (which at the moment is this letter) with a pinch of salt
Nndivheni on Mon, 15th Aug 2011 9:23 pm
I find it hard to believe this witness’s account of evens based on Minnie and Hush statements…this letter screams the name of the person with hush’s best interest at heart than the name of somebody who is just trying to tell the truth, period.

Isn’t Minnie to young to be @Hush anyway?

Oh and she was great on MzansiInsider this evening. I’m glad she has a support system eJozi. Who’s Morongwe Mokone??? Udume ngani??? Why do I have a feeling that they’re also paying her w/ round tables filled w/ buckets of alcahol??? *claps like a possessed Shangaan*
The problem w/ Minnie’s management (Leblerh Artist Management) is that they’re reactive in dealing w/ the issue instead of being PROACTIVE. This whole story is spiraling out of control and Minnie’s brand (if she’s got one) is being mismanaged. This is a PR disaster. How can you let Minnie fight her battles on her own via twitter w/o even intervening to guide her on a proper public approach of the situation. This is utter incompetence coming from the side of her management. #NotImpressed *loox the other way* *SMH*

lamarOdom on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 12:38 am
Mnxm this Morongoe must go to school first. The fact that they bought alcohol ya 10 000 doesn’t mean they can sit wherever they want. They paid for alcohol not other people’s tables. Wa hlanya na?

Nxa!! This is utter bull!!
I’m not a minnie fan but anyone can see that this Morongwe statement is utter nonsons! So Minnie got bruises on her face but wasn’t touched by anyone?? & the doctors @ the Rosebank hospital must’ve also been high on chemicals to also confirm that ngwana batho was indeed assaulted??!!
SIT DOWN wena morongwe! For all we know, you may as well be the nutcase that attacked her minnie’s friend!
I know how bitchy girls can become in clubs especially when you see prettier looking girls than you.
dejane on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 7:12 am
Was Morongwe thinking when she wrote this statement?I like how she says “we” paid for this and that. Like we’re supposed to believe she contributed to that bottle of what what that cost 10 grand. GOHWTBS.. The only reason she wrote this is to tell us that she drinks expensive booze and hangs out with people that blow money fast on expensive booze. So she feels more ‘symphathy’ for Jason who supposedly got punched and had to restore order? Like really?
Ora on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 8:16 am

Is this Morongwe person really a woman? i mean, another woman was punched in the face by Men and all u wanna share is the expensive alcohol u where having, and label her a liar?? yazi abanye abafazi, SMH!!!
Vesa on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 8:54 am
Minnie and her friends urged us to move from our table, suggesting the space was too small to have us there even though we were paying guests with more than R10 000 alcohol on the table.
The above statement stands out from this witness account, and it’s the same sentiment echoed by the PR statement!
So the feeling is that because they were spending more money than Minnie and her crew, they felt they were worthy of being at that table? I guess it’s a business afterall
Fezzy on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 9:25 am
So there are people who spent R10 000 on a bottle of alcohol? Hayibo! I can pay my car installment twice with that amount.
Im sure u just get drunk from smelling lobo tshwala.
mamamia on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 9:35 am
Hayi the more people ‘attempt’ to tell the truth…the more they sound like lies.
Morongwe must sit down \____/ a bench for you madame to recover from that moet hangover cos’ clearly she’s not a credible witness. Who the heck is Jason and how does he fit in the story.
Morongwe how much did Hush pay you to come up with this twat of a story? could it be a bottle of Moet, cause it sure sounds like the going rate for turning a blind eye.
Hush is guilty finish and klaar and if this is how they decide to handle bad publicity by raping a woman’s image and integrity – on women’s month nogal – then they deseve bad publicity.
So because the londoners were splashing on expensive alcahol they were within their rights to assault ‘poor’ minnie and crew?
If i was Minnie’s management team, i would have her renounce women abuse on a bigger media platform like Mzansi Insider and Live and use herself as an example. She’s got the platform to do it moes so why doesn’t she, she could be a national shero and aspiring role model to abused teenagers.
morning JC

I don’t think it matters whether the people were SA Nationals or not, it doesn’t matter whether Minnie took off her clothes & swore @ the guy ka mmae, she could’ve sworn at the jezebels he was with or whatever else, n!gger just shouldn’t have laid hands on a woman. He’s a sorry excuse for a MAN!!
KewlGal on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 10:40 am
tjoo Fezzy u must be drivin a nice car neh, R5000 for instalment.. noyce sista!!
@Mamamia i full agree with you, Minnie can flip this bad thing to be a positive. If i was her i would use this as an opportunity to call an awareness against women abuse in this country. I’m sure there are lot of women who have expirienced what she did and maybe even more. As a public figure she can encourage these young women to speak out against this. cos bheka how many who be taken to the kitchen and bribed with a bottled of moet to shut up and they would take it? its gotta end shame. Our mothers fought against it so that we can enjoy living in a country that respects us as women, things like these are like spittin in their faces for all the hardships they went through so tht we can enjoy freedom. Its also upon to continue the struggle they started if no change has happened.
I also think SABC as Minnie’s employer should support her in such a campaign, she did go there b’cos of her job anyway. Hay shame we cant be quite anymore otherwise we are still gonna be isgubhu zase Ziyoni, with man always bashing us.

Night clubs are literally a deadly grave to pre-walk into just to get a feeling of how hell or heaven (depending on which master you u rejoice and dance to their tune)
And each time, each recurring habitual night shift I accidentally find my toned calfs rejoicing and applauding my heels on how great the music is, I am consistently reminded of the sickening need of doing this over-and-over-and over again, weekend in and weekend out…
And in a sickening way I must applaud under-age-nymphs like Minnie for taking a punch (if not two) on our behalf as toned legs sistas for now that its a phlebrity who got the taste of clenched mertacapals on her even toned face then this ‘hushed’ matter that saw other unknown , never-to-be -unidentified estrogen who were/have been once upon a time in a not so distance dance floor saw them being,’manhandled’ by bounced (caressed as the devil on my stope is whispering the correct version),,
Maybe just maybe now that it was a ‘live’ actually acknowledged person who got the wrong end of a stick, I do hope that from now on, as of today, all the club owners, managers, bounces, bathroom maintenance staff, residential pimps and whores,’ would stay clear of intimidating and literally abusing their ‘walk-in’ bread and butter..
With that said, dumelang kaofela.
I really do miss you lots like jelly tots….
