JCTV: Bongani Denies Rumoured Malaika Split

We all read the headline on Sunday suggesting that Afro Pop group Malaika is breaking up. We caught up with Bongani Nchang at the Big Brother Finale to find out if there are any truth to the rumours reported on Sunday World.

Bongani admits to us that he and Tshedi have been performing separately but says that he has his own songs so he doesn’t perform Malaika songs. He says their new album will be out in 3 weeks or so and we shouldn’t believe everything we read.

Is Malaika heading for splitsville? Time will tell. but for me it sounds like there is some drama going on because it doesn’t make sense for him and Tshedi to be performing separately. Wish I had more time to chat to him.

Do you care if Malaika split or not?

I am not sure because I like both of them. On the other hand, it kinda worries me about bands splitting because ‘we’ grow to love them as bands. I think bands like this should enter an agreement from the beginning of their projects, agree who is gonna bring what input into the project. The brand thing like other JC family members said before.

Think its time for the duo split the profits, cut the losses & drop their mics!!
While we still appreciate the music but they’ve out stayed their staying power.
