Minnie’s Team Responds To HUSH Statement
August 15, 2011 by Brown Shuga
Following the statement issued by HUSH accusing Minnie Dlamini of lying in telling her side of what happened at Harsh Hush Club in Rosebank, this past Friday, Minnie reacted with disgust on Twitter:

There were a few more attention seekers (in Xhosa we call them Oosebekho iinja’ zasezilalini) who also threw twitter rants but we’ll skip them. More importantly is that Minnie’s management team issued their own statement, in reaction to the non-apologetic statement issued by HUSH. You can read HUSH statement HERE first to make sense of this drama.

STATEMENT FROM MINNIE DLAMINI’S MANAGEMENT
Johannesburg, Monday 15th August 2011. LeBlerh Artist Management would like to state that we also do not entertain negative publicity based on false accounts of events involving our clients but in this case we would like to make an exception regarding what happened at Hush on Friday (12th August 2011) when in the early hours of Saturday morning, Minnie Dlamini was assaulted by Hush’s manager and a patron. This is in response to the inaccurate press release by Hush’s publicist Ms. Melanie Ramjee.
The statement issued by Hush depicts a few accurate events and we would like to highlight them; Yes, Minnie arrived there in support of DJ Nasty, whom she interviewed on LIVE that night. Minnie and her friends were accommodated by Hush into their VIP area and given complimentary drinks and a table. At 2am, Minnie did get involved in an argument with a patron. As far as accuracy and true account of what happened that night, that is where it ends with Hush’s press release.
Around 2am, Minnie Dlamini and her friends, stood up from their table to dance only to return and find their table occupied by a male patron and his lady friends. Minnie went on to express to the patron that they are occupying that space to which the patron responded to them that he had bought a magnum bottle of Moet and he doubts that he was going to be the one moved from the table. The manager of Hush then stepped in during the argument and automatically sided with the other patron. Minnie asked for Stephane Cohen, the owner of Hush, as he was the one that placed her at that table. The manager completely ignored her and signalled the bouncers to remove Minnie from the table.
During this encounter, the patron threw a punch at Minnie and as she was trying to recover from that, the manager threw a second blow. The bouncers went on to manhandle Minnie. It is at this point that the patron disappeared. Stephane arrived at the scene and informed the manager who Minnie Dlamini was. They took Minnie to the kitchen and Stephane pleaded with Minnie not to open a case and that he would take care of their bill for the rest of the night. Minnie rejected this offer and left the club with two of her friends (Ms Busisiwe Nkuna and Ms Aurelia Nxumalo). Before exiting the club, whilst Minnie was busy with Stephane, Ms Nkuna was also shoved and scratched on the face by the girls that arrived with this patron who still remained at the table when the “unknown” patron from “London” disappeared.
We reject Hush’s statement about Minnie’s undertones of xenophobia. Minnie was simply describing the patron on the tweet that she sent in a fit of rage. We are disturbed by Hush trying to shift the whole incident to make our client seem like a xenophobic liar. The next morning we did take Minnie Dlamini to see a doctor at Netcare Rosebank Hospital where a doctor at the casualty ward confirmed that she was swollen on her right cheek. This information was passed on to the police at Rosebank Police Station as we opened a case of assault. We stand by the statement the first punch was thrown by the patron, then the manager threw the second punch and the bouncers manhandled Minnie Dlamini. We are in possession of a conversation between Minnie Dlamini and Melanie Ramjee that happened before she wrote the press release for Hush and we are upset by the fact that she knew that Minnie was not accusing the bouncers of hitting her and yet Melanie Ramjee proceeded to insinuate that Minnie was accusing the bouncers.
Signed,
Blessing ‘MaBlerh’ Cele
LeBlerh Artist Management
Below is the conversation between Minnie Dlamini and Melanie Ramjee, on Saturday 13th August, where she asks Minnie as to whether the manager did it on purpose or not:

Ok we get it. Can the case be resolved in a lawful way. Do screen munches and tweets hold up in court? Can we find this foreign national. Clearly if he can buy magnum what what, he will surface again at some other club. Punched twice? And everyone just watched? Not one person came to the rescue. Ya sad ne

Good luck to Minnie and her team, this is gonna be a long week for them.

Its pointless having their people and her people releasing statements. Obviously one is gonna make their client look like the victim in all of this. Weren’t there any independant witnesses around?

As much as I don’t understand wy people like clubbing so much cos it always brings trouble one way or the other, I’m with Minnie on this one. Don’t they have cameras in that club? Wy don’t they release them and prove that Minnie is lying as they claim? And Melanie is a hypocrite, on YFM this morning, she said Minnie is a good friend of hers and then she goes and stabs her on the back like this. Mncm.

The Hust statement has holes.
They claim the child was hit by a stray punch which was meant for the manager.
Why would anyone hit a manager of the club who came to break up the commotion?
Hush are at fault and they are trying covering their asses

I guess we must leave this to the courts to decide but I think Minnie must sue whoever hit her by mistake, okusalayo umshayile, they must prove to the court that it was a mistake

A march, really???? mmmmkkkkkaaaaayyyyyy….
Okay so I really dont understand why people are blaming u Melanie when she was merely doing her job.
It’s not like its her who’s saying all those things as she was obviously nto there (at the club), just like MaBlerh was also not there (I stand to be corrected)
As a publicists or a PR person she released the statement on behalf of Hush, just like MaBlerh released this statement on behalf of his client (Minnie).

I zoomed-in on every inch of my 42″ HD plasma ka 18:30 and i couldn’t see di-left overs of the punches that Minnie is said to have indured…thanks to the power of make-up (I think).
MaBlehr must advice his client to sue Hush as well. There is CCTVs ko Hush, so why don’t they just replay the happenings of that fateful night? Maybe what we will see will not be to Hush’s advantage. Hei inzima lento.
Kakapana, wena you are the future, sometimes people get carried away waitse.
Is Sgoloza/Alexis the same chick? Just Curious!

Eish this story must nw be put to rest. And the way people are going on is funny. Was just wondering to myself had this punch come from say a Zimbabwean,Mozambican or Malawian and not( London nationals) would we still be laying the blame at Minnie’s door.

MUNCHED… lmfao
MaBlerh on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 10:47 am
In my personal capacity: I now understand why women don’t report abuse in this country. They have to run to doctors and police stations. After all of that they have to stand on a public trial where they are scrutinised and called names by people who weren’t even there when the incident happened. I’m really disappointed that on Women’s Month, Hush and some people here on Just Curious would victimise a 21 year old girl when she is the victim here. It doesn’t matter what she said or did to those men, they had NO right to touch her. We see a lot of women falling victims to men who are animals at entertainment venues and we never hear of them opening cases because they are avoiding this. There is no “but” to this story. They should not have hit her! Period! As to my management company being reactive, we totally did not anticipate that Hush would go so low regarding this matter. It was a real curve ball to us. We did not think they would in turn victimise Minnie as we know Stephane. Guys, this is no different than saying to a rapist: “I’m sorry this happened to you BUT you should not have been there and you must have done something to entice the man that raped you.” Thanks all I have to say regarding this matter. Evil only prevails when good men to nothing.
KevCare on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 10:52 am
So instead of exposing the “woman basher” aka the “patron” aka the “national” Hush is even more throwing punches at Minnie?? If Hush really had NOTHING to do with this then they should just expose the person who is responsible coz thats the only thing that will clear their name!!

In my personal capacity:Blessing, i am disappointed that you do not see that the whole negative public euphoria is borne out of your client’s itchy fingers on Twitter.
Running to the police station and a press release from her management were two actions that would have sufficed in this case.
You need to teach your clients that Twitter is a monster and its use and benefits must be clearly understood, else they should keep off it completely. Same goes for Facebook.
She has cheapened a very serious issue of violence by her itchy fingers which have generated virile tos and fros of lies, claims and disclaimers.
It is about time these stars of ours realise that not all fame is good publicity.
Some of these stars need to be restricted to Nokia 3310s or have their fingers chopped off.
The choice is yours.

MaBlerh pls dont let it go without justice bein done, Hush should be made an example to all these clubs that allow such horrible things to happen to young girls…
Dont they have CCTV camera kanti. if they have’nt deleted them by now..
