David Wasn’t Built in A Day
September 26, 2011 by Brown Shuga
If you have watched Loyiso Gola’s show on eTV then you know who David Kibuuka, the eccentric foreign correspondent is. I’ve watched him on stage once, when he opened for some international act and I was sold. His 1 man show, David Wasn’t Built In A Day premieres at The Fringe, Joburg Theatre tonight and runs till Sunday.

David Wasn’t Built in a Day captures the chaos and downright madness that dominates the life of David Kibuuka and also showcases some of his most celebrated material as one of the country’s craziest comedians. He is regarded as one of the finest comedy writers in the country with his work gracing shows like The Pure Monate Show, Laugh Out Loud (season 1) and Font and Sons. He also wrote for feature film, Bunny Chow
David wasn’t built in a Day seeks to provide answers to questions like why Humpty Dumpty is not the president of South Africa or how a mule comes to own so many shares in Kawasaki and why Nelson Mandela never became a hijacker?
Tickets for the show are R80 and available HERE. No under 16′s
David Kibuuka is also part of Jozi’s reality show, where he features as their manager. He’s also said to be releasing an album in 2012. I think I must release one too. Every one else is.
