The Jub Jub – LKG Interview
April 24, 2012 by Brown Shuga
Yes, the interview was difficult for Lerato Kganyago but given Jub Jub’s attitude, even Debora Patta would’ve struggled with it. I give respect to SowetoTV’s LKG Show and its producers for the exclusive interview with Jub Jub. The first TV interview since that famous accident.
Given the reaction on Twitter, I figured you guys would also have a lot to say about the interview so I’ll just post my tweet-transcript of the interview.
.
The interview started off a bit slow and boring because Jub Jub sorta gave the idea that he wasn’t gonna open up but he later made up for it. A lot of people who watched concluded Jub Jub was high, I’m no expert but he looked sober to me. He was arrogant, made Lerato uncomfortable and became defensive at times but I guess you’d also be, given the circumstances.
When he spoke of his son, you could see he loves his kid and his tears were real. I was sorry to hear he isn’t allowed to see his son, and I thought it was unfair to deny a child that time. But when you compare that to the pain those parents feel, it’s nothing because their loss is permanent. They will never ever see their kids.
One thing for sure, Jub Jub’s interview got me going TJO! I couldn’t believe some of the things he was saying… I can only hope that this case will be concluded soon. It’s been going on for too long now.
Yet again, shout out to Lerato and her team for doing this, it’s actually a HUGE deal!

this guy though I don’t want 2 judge kodwa I can’t help but be upset by he’s lack of remorse & ownership.
I swear life would be so easy for him if he can just say I messed up & live with the regret as well as harsh reality of all the wrong choices I’ve I made that evening everyday. So I can only imagine how much more the parents of the lost 1ns feel every second. I’m truly sorry & as much as nothing I do can ever re-vert the accident I pray something good could come out of this.
Some1 please tell him 2 say this as 4 there’s a lot of corruption obvious there is Phela people saw u drag those children’s body’s of the streets yet 2 years later ur still roaming the streets like ur man about town. I loath he’s lack of responsibility & this shows that he still hasn’t learnt much if anything.
call me prude & self riotous mara I don’t appreciate him saying its Gods plan he must pick up a bible & stop saying messed up stuff. What a tormented soul. Wish I could feel sorry 4 him kodwa he reminds me of all the weak men we’ve come 2 see. Their always laying blame on every1 but themselves just so that they don’t have 2 deal with the responsibilities of their actions.
Dear jub jub just apologies hai 1 nje & people will stop calling u names or ”judging you”

Helo bloggers ok. I don’t mean to be judgemental and you guys can correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t get some of Jub Jub’s complaints. Like the one where he says “if I was guilty of something, the case would already be over, but its been 2 years”.
Well isn’t Jub Jub and his lawyer part of the reason the case has dragged on & on, because of some of the excuses that they came up with to get the case postponed (O_o).

This whole thing is confusing me. So Kelly was the chosen one LOL, you know this celebrity thingi, one gotta be strong. I remember some time ago when he was quoted in one paper saying he is not the father of K s baby cos he alaways use condoms. Anyway hope this case will conclude.

Granted, everyone is innnocent until proven guilty (in the eyes of the law), but a case dragging on for a long time doesn’t prove innocense either, it sometimes means you have a freaking good lawyer. #justsaying Missed the interview so I’m just commenting on what I read, but shout outs to LKG show for the interview, and Jub Jub for finally speaking about it.

The interview was interestin n “different” from the norm. BigUp on LKG on lettin him be as comfy as he wantd to be.
The less said about the twitter “angels” who have never driven while intoxicated, the better. Fact is accidents happen to ANYBODY & if it happened to me too, I’d also fight, to my last cent, to stay outta jail…YOU would too!!
Did Mandoza go to jail?? Was he sober?? Weren’t those humanbeings too?? Are ppl still mad at him? Did his money bring those lives back??
JubJub has a point tho, this case has been dragging on for too long & I think that’s coz the prosecution is hell bent on nailing JubJub (cheeseboi/celeb) to set an example n get their CV’s to shine. They n the media r soOo focused on HIM that they make Themba to look like an innocent passenger in all this.
Let’s sit back n watch JubJub walk free. Even the police testimonies had holes n Ike exposed those loops!
Le yena JubJub should not play the whole “Soweto vs the Maarohanye fam” card. They aren’t the only “rich” ppl outta Soweto n for someone who nearly burnt down a crib ka Mpepo he shudnt blame boloi for this saak.
Anyway on a lighter note, I cudnt help laughin when JubJub said: “Excuse me but ur questions are making me BURP”

I changed the channel when I saw they were interviewing Jub Jub. I feel he’s given unnecessary publicity, and doesn’t respect the nor feel remorse for those kids and their families. The sooner he goes to jail the better, strange how we are not seeing exclusives of how the families are doing. May he be haunted for life, idiot.

@KevCare you make some valid points true accidents do happen. Again you are right in saying that most of us have been guilty of driving while under the influence…I get that part, it would be hypocritical of us to act holier than thou as if tragedies such as this one are not common place. Where I lose my sympathy for JubJub’s plight is the drag racing aspect! True we all have been guilty of driving while intoxicated, but most of us had the presence of mind not to drag race aswell, Like it or not because of his fame JubJub is going to be made an example of…The point of putting people through the justice system is two-fold, it is not only to punish the wrong-doer but also to act as a deterrent to someone who is considering engaging in the same behaviour! In JubJub’s case yes, he had not intended to kill those kids! It would be silly to believe otherwise. But the fact is he engaged in behavious that made the death of those kids likely. And for that he needs to be punished.

Mandoza was charged with culpable homocide (killing without intention), Jub Jub is charged with Murder (killing with intention), people who drink and then decide to drive home cannot be charged with murder because their intention was to go home. Those who drink and decide to drag race in a small busy road are charged with murder…
Maratahelele on Tue, 24th Apr 2012 8:13 am
@lolo,the drag racing is also human. I have done it before with my friends,it was stupid but the aim was not to kill anybody. Imagine one day you were late for a meeting, speeding and you suddenly jump a robot and kill a family of 5,would you still say you deserve to go to jail??
One last thing that I never understand is how the media has persisted persecuting Jub Jub while Themba has never denied that it was his car that killed those boys as stated by Jub Jub and some witnesses. I still aintain that JubJub will win this case and people are going to cry foul while they are overlooking facts.
As for the holier than thou like Gareth Cliff,Dj Sbu,and all those who were caught driving over the speed limit,I just wanna say imini eyeza nakuwe, one day it will be more than just a speed ticket but a horrible accident….

That interview was rather interesting. There were times where I though he was trying too hard to prove his innocence. He also made it seem like Themba was solely responsible for the accident, as if the poor guy was drag racing alone.

It does not matter whose car actually hauled those kids; Jub Jub and his friend went unscathed while school children died because of a silly decision influenced by drugs! he has proven time and again tha he is immature i.e: he goes on National TV and says he has never had unprotected sex meanwhile he has impregnanted his Chosen a baby mama lol) he leaves a reality show cos of his manhood and people want to take this guy seriously!
I say still he is immature, and now he had to face the real world with a bang shocker!

@Odom,all I was trying to prove is Jub Jub has every right to fight for his innocence. People are acting like JubJub should admit he was wrong,go to jail without even a fight. They also acting like JubJub did something that nobody has never done. The guy who killed the runners in Midrand never to so much slack from everyone. I agree that people are just happy that it is JubJub,somehow I feel like they are punishing him for being a spoiled brat and being a son of MaMa Jacky,I know and understand how people can be if you come from such a family…

Hay @Maratahelele I dont even know who that Mama Jacky is or what she is famous for, but what Jub Jub and his friends did was so not human, the moment you get into a car drunk and drugged you know the implications involved but people do it anyway but to actually do drag racing on a busy road is rather foolish and ungodly.

We can never compare Mandoza’s accident with that of Jubjub. Mandoza did what most of do…..drove intoxicated and had an accident and unfortunately people lost their lives. That can happen to anyone of us. Even judge Motata had the same thing, but fortunately no one was killed.
Jubjub went drag racing on a busy street ko kasi broad daylight a le high.I know a lot of guys go drag racing, but it’s always outside of the residential area because they know that there is a greater risk of colliding with other cars and killing people.

Did not watch the interview but from what I gather from the tweets, this guy is trying to buy pity from everyone. The “I am not allowed to see my son”, he wants us to feel sorry for him, there’s reasons why u not allowed to see ur son and deal with it dude, and u know them very well.lol@”I mean look at me, hahahahaha”…
As for wanting to buy tombstones for the graves, smh, how will that help the families, this guy must put himself in the shoes of the parents of these kids and then he must open his mouth and talk.
But ya, he will walk free, he won’t go to jail, its sad for the family but that’s how much SA law sucks sometimes…
lolo on Tue, 24th Apr 2012 9:13 am
@Maratahelele yes I agree that drag racing is a human act…the fact that JubJub participated in the negligent act does not make him inhuman or alien. But according to testimony JubJub had been taking drugs, and plus he opted to drag race on a busy road in the middle of the day…both actions combined amount to criminal negligence in my eyes, and since he was criminally negligent he really ought to be punished. Yes I will not lie, none of us are perfect, I have taken my then , infant daughter out of her carseat and put her in my lap while driving. I did it, cause she was crying hysterically and was distracting me from the road. If on that day I had been unfortunate enough to be involved in a car crash, my daughter would not have survived. But if it had happened I would not act like I was getting picked on. JubJub is acting like we should shrug our shoulders, pat him on the back and let this slide. Very unrealistic.

Jubjub is acting like the media is picking on him and his mother. He is part of an accident that brutally killed 5 kids….5 and one is brain dead because of what he terms God’s plan!
He did something wrong, he should show remorse, apologise and get punished for it. For him to go as far as saying “I apologise for being part of an accident I didn’t plan” shows that he doesn’t blame himself or even take responsibility for his actions. Sies man!

I love what Malcom X, warns about our people:
You have to be very careful introducing the truth to the black man, who has never previously heard the truth about himself. The black brother is so brainwashed that he may reject the truth when he first hears it. You have to drop a little bit on him at a time, and wait a while to let that sink in before advancing to the next step”

Well firstly the Bible warns us about idolatry, then it moves on to tell us how Jesus, the Lamb shed His blood so that we no longer have bring any offering to the alter, that we pray only to God through Jesus Christ.
What I’m saying is the Bible speaks against believing in anybody or anything but God. So by believing in ancestors and Jesus at the same time is really a mockery to Him. Ancestory and Jesus don’t go together. The Bible warns about being luke warm. You cannot bat for both teams. Even God say He’d rather you be against Him than being unequally yolked
Lela on Tue, 24th Apr 2012 10:43 am
Well said Dexter. Mina I respect and accept that there are people of different religious beliefs and I’m cool with that but I refuse to believe that you can bat for both teams and I think that is just about what Lusta said which is fear of a black man to stand for what they believe in so they’d rather choose both just to be on the safe side.
lolo on Tue, 24th Apr 2012 10:47 am
@Lela I really dislike discussing religion. It is a futile exercise, ultimately religion is faith-based. None of us can put our beliefs in test tubes and have them authenticated. I do pay homage to my ancestors, I’m not sure that I can ever cite convincing reasons as to why are do this. Any attempt at justifying the metaphysical always falls flat. I believe that humans are more than just flesh. I believe that love transcends the mortal body that can obviously die. Now I know for a fact that my mother loves me. She has proven it time and time again by mothering and providing for me. Now I do not believe that my moms love for me is limited by her heart beating, by her soul occupying her body…if my mom were to pass on. I know that the love she has for me would remain. I know that I could still appeal to my mothers love for me for earthly favours and my safety. Again this is a belief I have. I can’t prove it. Just because Christians have a belif system that is put in text it does not mean that that particular belief is superior or more worthwhile. Text is not authentication.

It’s funny how y’all still avoid talking about the fact ya kuthi Themba Tshabalala’s car is actually the one that killed those boys, how different are you from MEDIA??
This theory just makes me laugh. Cause Jubjub was the one driving on the wrong side of the road, and when he realised that there was an oncoming microbus, decided to move to the left hand side of the road where Themba was drivin, and he (Themba) was forced to get off the road and hit those poor kids. So Jubjub is the one that caused the whole accident by pushing Themba to the left, thus hitting those kids walking on the side of the road.

I believe anyone who disregards their history, their past, their ancestory their cultural norms and beliefs.Anyone who takes our story as a people and then looks at it through the western lens. And says everything we were and everything we did before 1652 was un-enlightened , uncivilised and barbaric…Anyone who takes the text that was written by mortals like myself more that 2000 years ago and then takes this text ( which has some valid point and universal truths) But if you are going to take this text and use it to put down your own culture, then I believe you are making a mistake.
Maratahelele on Tue, 24th Apr 2012 12:07 pm
Why can’t @Lungsta believe in hs Madlozi?? Why can’t @Dexter believe in his bible and Jesus?? Why can’t @Lolo believe in both the bible and Madlozi at the same time??
Can we all live in harmony with our believes nd stop mocking other peeps believes?? Do what works for you as others respect your believes.
To my fellow believers, stop fighting GOD’s battles. Akere rona we believe that we will be judged individually at the end, let’s stop throwing the bible at unbelievers, they will be judged for their believes at the end…

You’d swear Jubjub doesn’t have any pubic hair the way he was carrying-on on Lerato’s show. I’m just waiting for Justice to prevail nje.
Off topic…Sad News: 3000 chickens had to be euthanized in Mpumalanga after a government initiative went horrbly wrong. The department of agriculture in the province gave the chickens & feed to some community members, to encourage business & enterpreneurship. Sadly, chicken feed got finished, and the local community could not feed the starving chickens any longer. The desperate chickens then started cannibalising each other out of hunger. The police also had to be called in, because the project beneficiaries became violent when the SPCA started putting down the animals. Sad, very sad.

All I can say further about JubJub is that good looks are dangerous. Despite being a total remorseless idiot people are still taken with the fact that he is hot! What complete fuckery! I am also very weak when it comes to good looking people shem. I will stay talking to a hottie three times as long as I would talk to umubi…even if the hottie can hardly string a coherent sentence together! The very good-looking are a nuisance I tell you!

This case ya jubjub e tseya sebaka, mean time the family of those kids they killed are still grieving and hurting, they won’t find peace till justice is done, So the nigga drags God in his messy predicament situation, how can he say he didn’t plan for this to happen, it was God’s plan, did God send him to use drugs and go for a drag race! Honestly speaking I don’t know why is this case taking long, he should be in Jail serving his time, May The Souls of Those Kids Rest In Peace.
