Loocha Magazine Turns 1, Do You Care?
June 13, 2012 by Brown Shuga
Loocha Magazine turns 1 this month… they’ve been around for a whole year but I’d be lying if I said I’ve ever been tempted to read it. I was tempted to buy once, I think they had Carol Bouwer on the cover but I did not manage to read the whole issue. And I’m not saying it’s them…
So, as the mag turns one, we salute them, of course and I’d love to know from those who’ve sat down to read the mag, what do you like about it and what’s your birthday message to Loocha?
Mine is :
Happy Birthday Loocha, make me want to buy you!

Is this mag produced in SA? Never heard of it nor seen it anywhere. Here I thought I’m a magazine collector *sigh*
Lela on Wed, 13th Jun 2012 12:47 am
I don’t, it’s such a badly done mag, poor content, poor art work, poor pictures n they have money. But if they employ me i won’t say no shem cz they are rich or maybe not.

Tjotjotjo! Yini le?I bonakala ngathi maphepha wakhona is those jotter looking type of pages,bo move, nabo newspaper. I hope that the english in the Loocha is not the same as the move one…
After subscribing to Destiny Mag I hardly go to the mag section, plus I am always in a rush whenever I enter a groceries store.Futhi ,I am battling to be up to speed with mags nje,I received the July one on monday and I haven’t even touched the June one.
Babyluv on Wed, 13th Jun 2012 6:26 am

Never seen, heard or read it. *shrugs* I’m thoroughly enjoying Destiny mag but I will always be a die-hard Cosmopolitan reader. It never gets old for me. Kahle kahle I just love reading!

I once saw at the “spaza shop” in braam. I even thought gore ke one of those FREE magazines that are everywhere. It really doesn’t say buy me

I’ve never come across a Loocha at any shopping centre, e stokiwa kae vele? I just hope it’s not those initiatives that waste our tax-pay, i hope whoever that’s funding it is doing so from their legit pockets**BBM Straight Face**
@JohneighGALAXY™ on Wed, 13th Jun 2012 8:28 am
The name ain’t catchy at all. I always see it at supermarkets and like @KamzaBabes I feel that it doesn’t call out to me. The grafix really give the impression that it’s one of those free4all publications.
The publishing sector is a tough market to break into. If You going to put something into the market it must really stand and represent what the Youth aspire to be today and tomorrow. The Loocha Mag doesn’t do that. A publication aiming to be competitive in this Info Age must have robust content and strong thought leadership qualities ro capture the essemce of its audience/market.
To answer Your question: No, I don’t care whether it’s their anniversary or not.

Mathaz on Wed, 13th Jun 2012 3:37 pm
Floyd Shivambu has got a lot in his plate hence he did not give this magazine the attention it deserved. I have never seen it on the shelves either. Bad marketing.
Phelindaba on Fri, 15th Jun 2012 12:59 am
Happy Birthday Loocha.
I’m still an employee of the mag even though I’ve never done anything.
