June 14, 2012 by

Manchester United will be in South Africa this July to play against Ajax Cape Town and Amazulu in the The MTN Football Invitational that will take place in Durban and Cape Town.

On the 18th of July, which is also Madiba’s birthday, the English club will play against AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Before the match there will be a soccer clinic, giving Durban’s township youth a chance to rub shoulders with some of the legends of the game and part some of their experience to the youngsters.

In collaboration with LeadSA & Shout initiative a special Happy Birthday Song will be sung for Madiba at the stadium

From Durban, ManU moves to Zillevile where they get to battle it out with Ajax Cape Town on July the 21st at the Cape Town Stadium in Green Point.

That match will also be preceded by a soccer conducted by some of Manchester United’s star players and coaching staff.

Tickets for the Durban and Cape Town matches range between R150-R350 will be available at Computicket.

Kick-off will be at 8pm for Durban and 3pm for Cape Town.

ManU fans, enjoy…

It took MTN long enough to do an invitational tournament like Vodacoms “Vodacom Challenge”. Unfortunately the only exciting team mtn has a relationship with is Man Utd. Good for S.A football but I’m not too excited. What with the R150-R350 tickets. Do mtn think this is a rugby tournament? Correct me if I’m wrong but Vodacom doesn’t charge that much for tickets even when big teams come for the games.
