Bonnie Henna Covers Real Mag
July 25, 2012 by Brown Shuga
Bonnie Henna is on the August 2012 cover of Real Magazine, and she looks so so beautiful, I had to stop and buy the copy. I was not disappointed with the issue, it’s well put together & has short but interesting articles. In true Real style, all the interviews are about some moments of depression or sadness the celebs went through, and how they got over them… so expect one from Sophie Ndaba, Bonang and if Kelly Khumalo hasn’t been on yet, she should have another cover when he reality show comes on air. Shout out to the Real Mag team though, I liked the issue.
What Real got right is their interviews, where you feel like the celebrity is chatting with you, sharing their story with an old friend they haven’t seen in a while. Eish, I feel like I’ve said this before…
Anyway, I loved the pictures of Bonnie in the mag, that is one hell of a hot photo shoot, she looked really happy too, a big contrast from the story.
When I read that interview I felt like it was a continuation of her interview with True Love... not sure if continuation is the right word, but half of it was about the True Love story, with “I “instead of the “we “that was used in TL.
Well, the big news for Bonnie is that she has written a book about her depression. The book is called “Eye Bags and Dimples” and will be released in September. *Side eye Khanyi Mbau* That interview with True Love was really deep and open so I’m not sure just how much of what’s going to be in the book will be new, and I still feel like Khanyi and Kelly, who are also writing books, Bonnie is still too young, and what she is going through now could’ve been another chapter in the book.
Speaking of that chapter in her life, I bought the magazine not only because it was beautiful but because I was looking forward to reading her comment on the rumoured separation from her husband but all she says about this is to acknowledge that there is speculation, they are going through a rough time, she respects him, he’s a great dad and we must pray for them.
If she says we must pray for them, I’m gonna assume there is still hope and pray for them because we need for all these young couples to stay together. Love can’t always end up in break ups hle… it just shouldn’t.
If you’re a Bonnie fan, or if you didn’t read her TL cover story, you’ll enjoy reading this. There’s also an interview with Zama Jobe about her ups and downs, and another one where Nkulee Dube talks about Lebo Mathosa. I didn’t read this interview because you know, whenever I read such articles, my reaction is “Oh puhleez, shut up!” and I don’t wanna say that to Nkulee.

didnt they say bonnie le sisanda are divorcing?
Deemag on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 9:23 am
Her real name is Bonisile Henna nee Mbuli, used to be a snob but now had had to eat humble pie very fast! She has had to compromise big time, that man really pulled her career down. All she wanted was to be a submissive wife to her husband, but Sisanda was not the right man, christianity aside .

Bonnie is gorgeous, I like her and she greeted me once at church, I just froze,I didn’t expect it, it made like her more. The cover is nice but too much airbrushing, having seen her previous photos and in person, I like her natural beauty, with very minimal enhancing (of course for Mag covers)
Smatsatsa on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 9:30 am
Kwaaa, who said Boniswa?!
posh on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 9:36 am
Actually the True Love cover is better at least it maintains her natural complexion, while this mag made her look even lighter in complexion than she is! I think they make a nice couple, hope they pull throug…ps: I liked the bitchy Bonnie too, when she and Thandiswa Mazwai used to show the media the middle finger! Feisty girls!
Photogenic on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 9:48 am
Huu, but Bonnie looks beautiful on the cover, doesn’t look like someone who went through depression, is it even ‘curable’?
BlindFold on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 10:02 am
@Miss T, did u come back with your hubby?
muntuza on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 10:12 am
@Deemag I FULLY agree with you on the part of Sisanda having hindered her progress in this acting thing.. Bonnie is a BRILLIANT actress, and whenever I catch Backstage repeats, my heart sinks thinking how good she was and how far she could’ve gone had she not married this BORING, oppressive, backward thinking man!!!!!!!! SO ANNOYING!!!!!!! The whole issue of them not taking any roles that involve kissing/intimacy scenes is plain stupid and has taken her career !) steps back! I shudder to think how many amazing roles she had to turn down to please him… (I am sure he came up with this ‘rule’ cos before him, Bonnie had no issues kissing guys, and being brilliant at it, on our screens) *sigh* I am sorry but she needs to leave him hey. Aowa!
Monei on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 10:25 am
hawu muntuza, wa tla wa blame-a sisanda wa batho for the no-kissing. they both agreed to it. he also used to kiss ppl. they were both non-christians before. yada yada. ditaba tsa batho ba babedi…. i wish them the best, i wish them restoration, i wish them happiness and peace.

muntuza on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 11:00 am
@Monei ke a mo blame-a vele!! Mxim! Wa ntena monna o.. And yes she agreed to it, but I don’t think she came up with it. In one of their interviews I read (dunno if twas TL or what) he gave reasons why he doesn’t agree with the whole kissing thing.. A re “I don’t think it’s right for me to kiss another woman, and possibly get a hard-on while my wife is at home”.. Something along those lines, but wa utlwa gore ke bo-DOM fela! Christianity never said give up your God-given talent to please a man. I will pray that she finds strength to walk away and reclaim her life back.

Happy birthday MissT, i hope Bonnie leaves Sisanda athawise she might as well forget abt her acting career
Deemag on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 11:30 am
@monei I typed a long answer for u, disappeared but I was saying I know the couple, both sides of the family and Sisanda loves his wife so his idea to make this work they both had to cut the past, which is Bonisile’s wild past,
Men like Sisanda, do not cheat however are very insecure, and controlling some even violent! I remember the sex scene from Drum the movie caused drama within the family. Sisanda initiated the no kissing rule and Bonisile did not have the foresight of the consequences to agreeing to such an arrangement,
They bought a penthouse in Newtown before they left for New York which later on they could not afford , since marrying Sisanda her life has been very unstable, moving from one place to another the poor girl can only take so much, I wish they come to a compromise because this facade they sell to the public won’t help. Sisanda’s idea for a successful marriage is unfortunately not a reality in this life; does not bring in the bread and butter
bumbum on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 11:34 am
If you let your man controll you at the beginning there are slimmer chances that you can change him at a later stage. My mom used to say if your man abuse you, stand up for your self and make sure the message is clear that you will never tolarate it. I think we can blame it on Sisa but Bonnie also played her role in this mess. I hope they find the way to make it work.

And waitsi I don’t even like Bonnie as a person, eintlik she got bitchy vibes, but I am just worried about the talent that she is, going to waste. I am yearning for her acting. She is supposed to be there le bo-Nthati Moshesh and the likes. Brilliant SA actresses!
@Kimmo aowa why must he even be given power to ‘let’ her act?! She is amazing at it,she should be able to do it whichever ways she pleases.
Yes, marriage is about compromise, but do yall know how many people go through life doin shit they hate/are not good at because they have no choice?! She has talent, and opportunity to do what she loves, and she gave it up to please a man? Haai le ena though :/ Who does that?

i haven’t read the mag hlena but i just wanna ask if maybe Bonnie complained about Henna oppressing her somehow?
I mean we do things coz we wanna, our men rule us coz we want them to rule us.
My man said if i were to fall pregnant i’ll have to stop working at 6 months to take care of myself.
Guess what, I think it’s a very brilliant idea. so just bcoz u dont agree with how some people do their things doesn’t mean they have a problem with it.

muntuza on Wed, 25th Jul 2012 2:13 pm
@Blindfold le nna I was surprised when i read Sisanda’s reasons or being against him and his wife kissing people on the job, means yena he does get a boner from it O_o Moruti wa tsotsi :”D
Aowa @Pana so you’re saying as long as oppressed people don’t complain, then means there’s nothing wrong? Its same as a woman who stays with a man who beats her up, yes it’s her choice, but its NOT RIGHT! OK maybe that is a bad example but you get the principle mos, she agreed, probably as a compromise, but twas honestly a bad move for her career especially.
@Azande I agree with you, if you gonna make your wife stp doing something that brings in money, then wena you must work twice as hard to bring in what she would have. SIMPLE! But bona they were struggling financially, like really?! You’re gonna turn down roles when you cant afford rent and stuff? SMH

Be careful of guys telling you to stay at home and they will support you. My cousin is such a smooth talker. He convienced his baby mamma to quit her job and lied to her about how his elders were coming to pay lobola. Meanwhile, the leders know nothing about this lobola deal. Now my cousin has moved on and impregnated yet another foolish young lady. #beware of men with forked tongues.
