Details: John Legend Live In SA
July 15, 2012 by Brown Shuga
When John Legend’s last scheduled trip to our shores didn’t work out, he promised that he would make it up to his fans and come. It seems he is indeed a man of his word because he is on his way back to come and perform at the 1 Night Only Women’s Month Celebration Concert to be held at Sandton Convention Centre, JHB on 10 August.
John Legend will be supported by local acts Mi Casa and Unathi, and Minnie Dlamini will be hosting.
The tickets for the event are already available at Computicket but this intimate concert is only open for 4000 people.
The tickets prices:
- General Access – R900
- VIP - R1400
- VVIP R 1750.
VVIP includes fully catered drinks and meals plus you will be seated in front row as indicated on the above seating plan. Tickets available here, I hear there are only about 2000 left.
John Legend will be performing with a 23 piece band so this should be interesting.
So, will you be buying your ticket?

Alikho on Sun, 15th Jul 2012 10:16 am
Much as I enjoy his music, I’d pay that much for general access only for Beyonce…considering it’s not John’s 1st concert in SA
Deemag on Sun, 15th Jul 2012 11:02 am

I am John Legend’s biggest fan but I am not gonna give this one a miss. Those ticket prices are ridiculous. He will probably perform for an hour and your bank balance would be thin

inURdreams on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 12:28 am
R1750!!! Basically John Legend’s here to separate the men from the boys and the women from the girls!:-(
Anyway Shame on the organizers for not effectively communicating to Nonthende that she’s not gonna be performing on the night. Poor girl had to find out via twitter that she’s axed. That was just wrong guys.

@JohneighGALAXY™ on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 8:25 am
@InURDreams: The decision to procure Unathi over Nothende was purely a business matter. Even though Unathi huffs and puffs away on stage, She’s a bigger crowd puller than Nothende. When big budgets are thrown in, who sings better is irrelevant. The organisers need artists that can augment the sales figures in great numbers in a positive way. You want to have fellow artists who’d be complimentary to John’s light, and Unathi has that kinda clout albeit what some say might be a questionable voice. Sadly talent isn’t popular at times.
Fezzy on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 8:42 am
@JG…got some questions for u.
1. Who do u prefer most? Men/Women?
2. Does ur gf know that u are bi? If yes, is she cool with it? And if no, how do u think she wud react if she were to find out?
Fezzy on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 8:43 am
Sorry but ur avatar triggered those questions.

R1750? hell no, would rather go buy shoes and than go see john, have seen him perform live twice in Sa, at sun city and the dome.. He is a good perfumer but love my money too much to pay that much to see him perform for 2 hrs.
How did the tea party/lunch go, Joburgers, please stop this silent blogging??
lolo on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 9:09 am
Sherbert!!!! That is a stiff price to pay…But for all the bloggers who always moan about getting a richman maybe this is worth the “investment” I think if one is single and looking maybe paying this much to possibly meet some monied brother is not a bad Idea….I say to the singles, go dressed to thrill and flirt like the happiness of your future children depends on it.

inURdreams on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 9:39 am
thank you @JohneighGALAXY™ I get you its a numbers game that the organizers should have been aware of. But, point is Nothende got a call to open for JL and 2 days later she finds out via twitter that she won’t be doing it. That’s the part that’s just wrong.
nana on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 9:40 am
But Joneigh do you see a future with her..I mean do you girls talk about it or you just in it for fun?? I’m sorry to intrude.
Anywho, I love John Legend with all my heart and I’m suuuch a fan..Have never even seen him live and when I heard he’s coming here, I was over the moon. Only to find out that the entrance cost a million. I’m sooo sad!! Like somebody said on twitter “we just ordinary people, we dont have 2grand to blow”!.
I was so disappointed not to find a blog about B vs Eu>>.Anyway, I hope its on his way. Goood morning evuribadi!

Guys in other unrelated news-
Are you happy with the idols top 18?
I’m sad that both Zintle’s and Sama ddnt make it,bt I’m even more shocked that Thabs*safety pin on her hair* made it!even after her solo performance was the worst ngoba she forgot the lyrics!that is so unfair coz other kids worked so hard but still didn’t make it and yena she did!happy with everyone else though, obviously Khaya and Shekanah,ne crush yaka Randall u-Sihle!lmao

Mathaz on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 11:01 am
I love Zintle’s dress style…so retro and cheek, anyway the girl with the pin, started off so good…her voice is not bad shem, she just forgot her lyrics that’s all. I know Simon does not give a second chance if you forget but this is not American Idol..
Botshelo on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 11:06 am
Miss sam, I was so pissed that sihle is in but not sama, Fantasia lookalike and Winnie’s daughter
But what do I know
Watch as that nerdy guy who re arranges songs win or maybe they want to make history with Shakanah (sp) or Khaya winning
Asazi!

@JohneighGALAXY™ on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 11:14 am
@Nana: It’s kinda serious. I guess I was also drawn to the fact that She’s Bi as well. She relates to me.
@Bum-Bum: You need a long, +-1hour hot bath infused w/ revitalising bath salts and essential oils like lavender and eucalyptus(get them @ Your nearest Clicks or any other pharmacy near You). Drink hot green tea with lemon then go off then dose off to a long sleep session so that Your body recuperates.

Mathaz on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 11:24 am
Let us not forget to congratulate Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma on a well deserved victory for AU chair. Angie Motshega should and must a learn a thing or two from Dlamini coz she follows up on the implemetation of policies. I can never forgive her for what she said about Limpopo, since Zuma is to appoint a new Home Affairs minister, maybe he should also reschuffle and get rid of Angie. And to think that she was a professional teacher?? Tjo!
BlindFold on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 11:40 am

But isn’t Shakana (cant spell her name) also 17!!! How come yena she made it through but Rethabile was told she’s too young. Me thinks Randall is worried that his favourite wont win if Rethabile is there. That girl can SAAAAAANG!!!!!
bongi on Mon, 16th Jul 2012 11:49 am
so with this new post ka Nks Zuma does it mean she needs to give up her HA position..yhoo if so – then yi disadvantage for us South africans ke mos..ngoba shem lomama u good kuzo zonke i posts zakhe..as for Angie..shhe needs to resign. Ngeke half year and no textbooks for our kids – whereas yena abakhe be attender e UK.

Anway I was tryna post a link- some theory about Idols (y’all can google it, its tittled ‘Idols South Africa Sham or Scam, Definitely not Glam’).. Basically it talks about how much Idols is scripted, how much the Producers/Directors are actually the ones with a say other than the judges.. Parts of it can be believable, but hhayi maan these people cant honestly be taking us for such a ride…
@Fezzy yhuu I saw that, it was sooo unneccesary yazi, yes Trevor was angry but he really shouldnt have..

Those tweets Trevor sent to his wife made me go tjo, was even shocked that the man is married, the way he used to go on about Claire on twitter, you’d swear the man was single.
Good riddance to Goldie. My guard the girl can cry. I thought she would collapse on that stage when they were showing her clips of her stay in the house. If tears were money, she would be a millionaire.
Guys le skawara ka Rethabile, i Kalawa izom’ setter. She’ll have a recording deal soon.

Nothende must get over her pity party, If she can’t afford a ticket, clearly that thigh of her didn’t get enough coverage from the SAMAs..

Sxlyn this was my comment “I love John Legend with all my heart and I’m suuuch a fan..Have never even seen him live and when I heard he’s coming here, I was over the moon. Only to find out that the entrance cost a million. I’m sooo sad!! Like somebody said on twitter “we just ordinary people, we dont have 2grand to blow”!.”….so I do need the ticket..if you still have it please ngiphe lona bandla.
