  9. posh on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 4:19 am

What caught my attention is the fact that it is Mental Illness Awareness Month, more especially the signs of Mental Illness….

Mental health is important and if this list of signs is anythig to go by most of us and those around us siyahlanya nje kancane!!!

the lesson is mental illness is not only when you are at Fort Napier – in a mental institution.

Now I understand why white people encourage and use shrinks a lot, because mental health is important..

Here we go, diagnose yourself and seek help

    - Confused Thinking
    - Long Lasting sadness or irritability
    - Exreme high and lows in moods
    - excessive fear, worry and enxiety
    - Social Withdrawal
    - Dramatic changes in eating and sleeping habits
    - Strong feelings if anger
    - Delusional, false impressions, or hallucination (seeing things thatare not really there)
    - Increasing inability of coping with daily activities and problems
    - Thoughts of suicide
    - Denial of obvious problems
    - Many unexplained physical problems
    - Abuse of drugs and alcohol

This can help prevent lots of adverse events such as suicide, crime. Boyfriend/girlfriend/wive/husband killings originate from these illnesses, dumping of children, abuse, irrational behaviour, etc.

  10. posh on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 4:34 am

The interesting fact about mental illness is that if affects the young, wealthy and highly intelligent people, nerds typa people. In America the mass suicide killings in schools and the recent one in a theatre are committed by clever and educated people who are considered normal think are normal but after the action it realised the person had weird tendencies or strange behavior and habits

I’m originally from CPT and I’ve never experienced so much racism in my life! @work and around where I stay. I overheard my white superiors who are under the impression that I don’t understand afrikaans, talk about how they can’t wait to get rid me and are only giving me 3 months to F-up! Sad thing, I know my job en I do it well, unless they Loya me, they don’t have a thing on me. I’m just praying for the Lords guidance through all of this… Morning everyone!!

Dineo has a baby with a different man and now she is carrying Blacklez baby. i don’t understand how we can make the same mistakes as some of our parents have, different babies with different fathers. i kinda don’t even trust Blacklez i feel like he’s dating her coz she is DR! look i have nothing against people who have babies out of wedlock i just feel that if you had your 1st child rather wait and get married then have your baby with the new hubby.

Hello JC Fam. So this is my first comment ever, after two years of being a silent blogger #CrawlingOutOfTheCorner. What’s one my mind is two things:
    1. Can love come knocking on my door already, 11 months all on my lonesome is a long time. Anywho I’ll wait for my Mr Right, maybe its the colleague down the passage, with whom some flirting has been going on.
    2. Why are call centre agents so unhelpful mara hhe. Nje their logic just baffles me really. Case no#1: I do an online application, it says, if you have a problem call this number, so I call, lady on the phone is unwilling to help and tells me to send an email, I need this sorted out as in yesturday not when you get around to checking your emails. It would of took just 5 minutes to resolve the issue which happened eventually, when I called again and a different person answered. Case no#2, lady from the bank calls me about a new promotion they have, I ask her to send me more information before I sign up, she say no, I have to sign up first before she can send me more infor. Hello, infor first then I sign up, this is my hard earned money we talking about.
Happy Thursday and Happy Blogging #CrawlsBackIntoCorner

I dont think Dineo is really pregnant, its a stunt to get ARs

She will say the pregnancy test was not accurate,

unless if she goes to consult and a Dr confirms this

    Mara

If she is, then she must eat a HUGE humble pie for her “in this times of HIV” tweets to Mr Sushi re: Eda Rose – DUDU’s wedding

Clearly she aint using method “C” which means she is putting her life at risk

Le gona @Blakes wa gafa, o imisa motho o sa mo tlhompheng

and whats with men liking this “lets have a baby talk”

  41. BlindFold on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 8:57 am

@Gomolemo..did you say Boyfriend not even fiance..he must try fixing that first before he dishes instructions.

And then when my brother decides that he wants to marry Dineo with two kids from different fathers, her family should expect R5000.00 for lobola.

  42. Azande on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 8:58 am

  44. Vesa on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 8:59 am

@Gomolemo…..don’t sell that house tu! Keep it for your son. Open a bank account in your son’s name, rent it out, and pay the bond with the rent money. If there is some excess left between the rent and the bond payments, save it in your son’s account.

Dineo Ranaka’s show ne! I think it’s doing damage to her reputation at the cost of being real! How do you sleep with your man, not using protection or contraceptives and you do not even know where he stands with regards to having a baby with you?

  45. kamzababy on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:00 am

hahaaa Botshelo my first thought after seeing that comment about Dineo being preggy? “kanti ena ga use condom”

  46. Zida on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:03 am

This is all about money. Remember that MJ just came out of debt. Or at least about to. Everything MJ’s estate makes now grows back his profits. They are trying to bump the executioners off so that they have access to that money.

As for Janet getting involved, I think Randy is behind that. Remember when Randy recruited her and others to beat up Joe’s concubine way back? I know Damita is worth about half less than she did when nipplegate hit, but she’s not that desperate for money. She’s got a rich prince for a boyfriend anyway.

Where is Joe, by the way? Is he still trying to develop that girl band he created not long ago? If he was in the picture, none of this wud be happening. But then again, maybe it’s good he’s out of the picture cos we know his shenanigans.

I’m glad though that Rebbie is taking care of Catherine. She’s always been the more sensible one.

Anyway, I hope they get it together. For MJ’s memory.

  47. Azande on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:06 am

@Vesa true i also think its doing damage ngempela, there are some thing nje they were not suppose to show, nje yona le ye preganancy test i really think they were not suppose to, and this show is somehow changing the way we think of D and all, i love her neh but im starting to think ngeyendlela ngaye, its more like akacabangi uDineo at all.

  48. kimmo on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:10 am

    Good Morning Guys

Quick question, So Dineo is/might be pregnant by Les who is not the father of the 1st baby?!

Okay what im asking is, she is about to have a second baby out of wedlock and is broadcasting that ish like its something to be proud of ?

  53. Chandyol on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:21 am

Got 2 things on ma mind: unlike Noance, I’m not gettin responses fo my applications, and I’m rily tired of stayin home, for a minute I thot abwt Snapshot’s offer but….
Then 2ndly, girlfriends coling their boyfrnds hubbies doesn’t rily sink well wit me, I feel as a gal u sellin yoself short to a man that might just never marry you… Or perhaps u jinxing yoself, unless mayb u hav a reason y u colin a mere bf yo hubby?

  54. kamzababy on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:23 am

and if she planned the baby and can afford to have another there is nothing wrong with that..her choice. what if she doesnt get married. it’s the way these celebs always preach ka hiv/aids that get me worried cos they always try to sound smart and go prove gore they are just idiots

  56. Miranda on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:25 am

MissThang and Azande, what do you do when you find out that you are pregnant (second baby), different father???? I mean let’s say you get a cd burst with your BF and morning after pills aren’t effective enough for your immune system….

Abort ? give birth and give them up for adoption? what do you do ?

  57. sweetness on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:26 am

@Noance everything you said on all your your comments, I am with you there, only difference is I am not even getting a single interview, and maybe I got some loving nyana, just not that crazy love I long for!!

So you guys use condoms every time?? like EVERY TIME with your bf’s?? we are too quick to judge, I just think she should have been responsible enough to go on contraceptives.

Did you here about some meds/vaccine to help prevent contracting the HIVirus?? Its already in the States.

  58. Azande on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:27 am

@Kamzababy yah if she plann it and want it its cool, vele not every1 will get married, but her case its was never a plann and still busy with her business things and all, and no idea if the baby daddy want to have a child or…………….

  65. Ms.Zie on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:37 am

Keep in mind, not everyone’s end goal is marriage and even marriage doesn’t guarantee that you will be with that person til your dying days. I’m not pro-’choice assorted’ children, but let’s not be unrealistic. It happens. As long as you are financially independent & can mantain your kids then have them.

  66. Noance on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:37 am

@sweetness and chandyol I was also not getting responses but I have been at it and I refuse to give. I pray about it alot too. We need a higher power to help us when it come sto things like this. Its tough out there. I’ll keep you both in my prayers and lets keep pushing!!!

I just think we all have our opnions but lets face it, we all make mistakes. Its easy to bash Dineo because we are not in that situation but what I have learnt in life is that, as long as ur still alive, anything can happen to u. So in regards to her pregnancy and sleeping patterns, I choose not to judge. Two years from now, i might be in the same situation and have people throwing daggers at me. Her life, her choices.

  67. Ms.Zie on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:37 am

‘it’s the way these celebs always preach ka hiv/aids that get me worried cos they always try to sound smart and go prove gore they are just idiots’

    Here I agree.

  72. @JohneighGALAXY™ on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 9:46 am

@Noance: I wanna share this w/ You: The Creator answers prayers in 3 ways: (1) He says Yes & gives You what You Desire (2) He says No & gives You Better. (3) He says Wait & gives You the Best Ever. So that great job You are after is on its way.

@Gomolemo: You BF wants to control things out of his jurisdiction. How old is Your son? Here’s a piece of unsolicited advise: It’s better to sell the house and invest the proceeds in a stable investment vehicle like a smooth fund. If the house is worth R600k – R800K, that money can yield somewhere around +-R17M over a period of 15 years, provided market conditions remain favourable. If your son is below 5 years of age, He should have millions by the time He’s 20 years old. Planting Your money in a vehicle like a smooth fund makes better sense than leaving it in the form of a physical asset like a house. The returns will out-perform the house value over a period of 15 years. If only black folks, especially the younger generations, were aware of the power of investing and it’s benefits in the long run, we would all be wealthy. My dear sell the house and invest the proceeds. You son will be very proud of You later on.

Morning all. HBD Puddin! Guys when job hunting you must just think out of the box, you must not over look those sites on the net. that is how i found my present job, and befriend someone at the agency & whenever you pass by their offices you just go in & ask how they are doing, whats new just be friendly & volunteer whenever you can, you get to meet ppl that way. i always recommend that if there is an ideal company that you would like to work for you much be willing to even enter at admin level (even with you degree) that way you gain experience & its easier for them to employ you if you have been on their payroll aswell. I learnt that from my friend who had Honours in Bcom something, she started in the firm as a receptionist come tea-lady & when posts opened a couple of months later she applied & all those ppl who treated her bad were so shocked to find that she was so educated & she got the job.

People always get amazed when I tell them how much I love my job, but they don’t understand that I had to come from such a crap place to really appreciate what I have now, and I really do… but I know that this will be the last company I work for and I won’t stay for more than 3 years..

whats annoying the most is that these companies will call you for interviews at odd hours, then take you to psycometric(sp) tests etc…then they keep quiet….I find that very annoying coz one has to take a day off for these silly tests nxa only for them to keep quiet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  104. Noance on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 10:31 am

@chilledsweetlemonade, my sentiments exactly. I am waiting for some other company to get back to me regarding psychometrics which will be the second time I’m taking them. And I am running out of leave days and excuses to give here at work.

  105. chilled sweet lemonade on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 10:33 am

The prospective companies are so enthusiastic in the beginning but not at the end!!!!!!!!!!
another thing guys…not sure if you have been faced with this but dont u find some recruitment agents dodgy…I was called for an interview once at a company so the recruitment agent wanted to force me to ask for a lower salary than i had stated!!!!!!!! its not like it was an exorbitant amount, it was relatively market related….I started wondering what her agenda was!!!!!cow!!!!!!!

  106. @JohneighGALAXY™ on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 10:44 am

@Miranda: The aim of a smooth fund is to provide market-related and inflation beating returns over the long term, without the high volatility that the equity market often displays. The way this is done is to declare a bonus annually that represents the investment return investors will earn every year. Some of the benefits of having a smooth fund portfolio include: (1) steady growth. Investors with non-smoothed market-linked funds have seen their returns fall into negative territory as a result of the global economic downturn, while smooth fund investors have seen their fund values largely preserved. It beats inflation. (2) The returns earned by the investor in the form of bonuses would seem to be less volatile than non-smoothed market-linked funds. It offerts excellent long-term returns. (3) The profit-sharing (smoothing of investment returns) and the vesting component provide an essential element of security.

I read this article some time back.

We also need to check our CV’s, if its structured well, correct grammar used, correct font, etc. Sometimes we dont get interviews because of that. I recently fixed mne, found alot of spelling mistakes and incorrect gammar used, places where i had repeated myself…

  110. Monei on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 10:53 am

@chilledsweetlemonade, i’ve heard of agents that do that. send jobs less than what u’r currently earning, tell u to reduce ur ask price. wtf? know ur worth ppl.

to all the jobseekers, as someone said, the market has been and is still very dry. even for internal movers. retrenchments and restructuring aren’t over for all on top of that- boMTN le SABmiller and who knows who else. don’t give up. and i hope y’all are conisdering internally as well, if u’r currently in big organisations.

    My anything goes:

So its been a month since I last visited Boyfriend(we live far from each other)- he had a picture of us on his TV stand when I was last there. Two weeks back his brother came to visit him since the schools were closed. So yesterday I visit boyfriend and find the pic not there, I ask where it is he tells me its on his desk at work. So I do my own snooping around the house and find our pic stashed in some unused travelling back together with my shoes. Part of my mind says the dude had some chikita over and had to hide those stuff, while another part things maybe he “hit” them from his brothers since they are younger(guess its what I wanna believe). Anyway I took all of them and will be leaving with them without his knowledge.

Could this dog be cheating or am I overreacting?

  125. Gomolemo on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 11:40 am

@Babyluv..Gomolicious? I like. He is staying with me at the moment. We are getting married ka November, so i just think he should buy me a new house if he does not feel comfortable in my house. And he is not really a dictator, i just think he takes advice from the wrong people, you know telling him gore u are staying in HER house…blah..blah…and he is just stupid to listen to them. I have also made it clear that we will be signing a pre-nup. I dont know much about it, anyone??

@JG, my son is five, and im taking your advice to heart, so ill be doing some research.

  126. @JohneighGALAXY™ on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 11:41 am

@Beautiful Butterfly: long distance relationships are very taxing emotionally and physically. Don’t make excuses for him. Why did he lie about the whereabouts of the pic. He’s is lying for sure. You can’t expect a Man to remain celibate while you are miles away. Cheating is inevitable if you are in a long distance setup. He’s cheating, make peace w/ it and get over it. I don’t know any Man who would remain for weeks without sex.

    Good day beloved bloggers!!! :-)

My Anything Goes, I’m with my mother for her second chemotherapy session. When we arrived the receptionist was just rude and inconsiderate for something she did wrong. You know those people who won’t admit when they have done something wrong, AGGH I just wanted to slap her pathetic self. Anyhow that’s behind us. I really do admire my mother she’s such a strong woman. When she first got diagnosed with breast cancer she wasn’t horrified and handled the news with such calmness. All she said was “I’m one of the lucky ones to have detected it early and I have the means to treat it, so I have nothing to complain about, why should someone else suffer”.
God has truly been wonderful to her and I’m so grateful to still have my mother. I dedicate Erykah Badu’s “Bag Lady” to her because even though she’s sick, she still worries about others and wants to carry the worlds’ problems. I’ve told her a million times to “pack light” and prioritise her needs first. I guess somethings will never change…

Be careful of guys telling you to stay at home and they will support you. My cousin is such a smooth talker. He convienced his baby mamma to quit her job and lied to her about how his elders were coming to pay lobola. Meanwhile, the leders know nothing about this lobola deal. Now my cousin has moved on and impregnated yet another foolish young lady. #beware of men with forked tongues.

PowerPuff Gal your mom will come out even stronger

my mom’s journey startedv in Sept 2011, she was operated
was put on chemo and radiation ended 8 June

she was working during her chemo session, she scheduled only for fridays, worked througout the period.

she stayed with me for radiation period and has since returned to work

last wed was my worst as i had to come from EC then go home NW fetch and take her to a DR in GP, I was so scared cause she could not even get up from her bed.

But her stength…..tjeer! amazeballs! mosadi o le!
she was up on her feet again, she consulted wed, thurs and fri, today she is much better

So yeah every person who serves man must know this “to serve man is to serve God”

    And He rewards that

so dont worry dear, your moms health will be restored in Jesus’ name

@Chilled those agents are very dodgy. i once went to an interveiw through them and they practically begged me not to give the firm my contact details. then they called after the interview and asked how low i’m willing to go from the initial salary. you see, some of them get paid commission, say 10% of your annual salary. so to them even if it’s R10k it’s fine, as long as they make money out of you.
@Wildy true that – at my first job i used to email and call the CEO/Top Director guy until he heard me. my friend walked into the firm she currentlt works for and demanded to see the director and handed him her cv. those receptioninst throw away CVs.

@kamza, ka nnete i hope y’all are serious and gona get married. it myt seem light to you now, but if u break up- therz a lil more breaking up u’ll have to do than normal. nna, i discourage jolaring wiht ppl’s family as well, i.e. being close with ur partner’s family.

Don’t fight with him over that.Be calm and let him explain why he thinks there is a need for both of you to get a new house. It might be a good way of starting afresh le Future Hubby. Its not a watse of time and money if he is gonna buy you a new house.
For those of you who watch Muvhango: Thandaza’s husband, Ranthumeng, had an issue like this too and things worked out well.lol

I once did that and nyiggar took off in the middle of the night (he was staying about 500Km away) probably thinking that i’d do something bad to him in his sleep.
@Monei i once jollard with the family and many months later after the brea-up his mom begged me to wait for him to sort out his life (mind you, side dish was preggos). then she would for money and i just couldn’t say no.

@Eyh2jee, i dont mind him staying in my house, we can actually use the deposit for the new house for other things or maybe do some renovations. Thanks dear.

@Botshelo, he might not have a house, but he makes me very happy and im fine with him staying in my house. I would rather be with someone who makes me happy than who owns a house and disrespects me. My ex had everything, i would just snap my fingers and got what i wished for, but it was short-lived cause the respect was never there.

  256. Dinie on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 3:54 pm

hello JC Family…gals how much do you spend for your hair. the reason for my qeustion is that there’s this Indian hair i’ve been longing to buy, it costs R700. i want it but again i feel like i’m wasting money and would rather buy stuff for the house..i usually spend R350- R450 never went over R500. Gosh, so stressed right now..Hair stress!lol

  257. LadyMillion on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 3:58 pm

just buy the hair…but is it real indian hair

@dini is that real indian hair? R700 thats too cheap.. how many inches is it?

  262. Vesa on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 4:06 pm

@Dinie…..just make sure you are buying good hair before spending that money!
I normally don’t get the hair debate, cause if you buy hair from Kinky, it’s normally between R150 – R350 and maybe more, and lasts only six weeks!

If you buy Brazilian/ Indian / Peruvian or whatever else, you spend R1 500 & more per packet depending on the length but lasts you longer than a year

  263. MinaNawe on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 4:09 pm

@bumbum: ya dat chick should really do that…but I’m sure she has found someone else “who is in her league”… i feel really sorry for the guy

  264. kamzababy on Thu, 26th Jul 2012 4:11 pm

Dinie nna i’d say invest on good quality indian or brazillian hair because you end up waaay more than that in just one whereas u can use indian/brazillian hair more than 10 times forever. theres a blog/interview BS once did with Babalwa “100″ ways to rock a weave or something

@mina nawe, the durban wedding is didnt impress me that much. it defines money can’t buy u class. from the ungraceful manner the birfe must sit/be carried by the digantsontso, to the cheap shininess of the groom’s second attire and the old schoolness of that cake. its like they spent on the venue and decor but skimped on some stuff. those 1993 style studio photos zabo *claps once* u shud see the level of engagement shoots available these days.

shem, and i have issues with the grooms liking of things.he’s got pimp-like style (bling bowtie+ribbon on blazer collar+engraved walking stick+hat). he changes outfits and his poor bride duznt get to get out of that heavy dress? those flowerboys confuse me- in decorated white mini-walking sticks, smartly dressed but shirtless and barefoot.i get where they were supposed to be going but it duznt work-shudve just put them in traditional gear or sumthing else.

@Eyh2Jee @Richmond: Smooth funds are part of the broad family of investment funds available to South Africans. It’s something that’s suitable/appropriate for people w/ a long term investment horizon(financial goals to be achieved in 10 to 15 years). But Your risk profile would be taken into account to. They are designed to see you through the ups and downs of the markets. Old Mutual and Metropolitan have some of SAs best smooth funds. Just go to any of their branch for full term results for comparison. They declared some of the best returns in SA. The trick is to do thorough research before you make a choice.

@Smang-mang Warona: Keng wena??? O nagana gore ke Rupert Murdoch wa mo Mzansi??? I was only sharing to make another sister aware of one of the many possible ways of growing their cents. I don’t need to prove my qualifications/accreditations on JC. But You are not wrong to point out the importance of accreditation and advice. You are on the ball skaat!

  308. BlindFold on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 10:15 am

@dejane it is used for obese people if they have to go under surgery, it is very effective, you loose the weight within a few weeks, no eating only water. It totally supresses the apertite.

the lady that does my hair was a size 42, took the pills within three weeks she was a 32 (looks scary though)

@ samlicious i heard yesterday on the news that there is somebody manufacturing grandpa i think in the northen cae or something

  317. BlindFold on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 10:55 am

@vesa she is fine, the only challenge is that she gained weight after she stopped so now she has to take it regularly to supress her appertite.

she looks ok health-wise, on the outside. Most doctors will not give out a prescription for it, she had to find those dodgy doctors.

  318. asanwababe on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 10:56 am

Ladies, eating right and exercise is the way to lose that weight. These teas and pills, boHerbex and all maybe effective in the shrot term but in the long run, they mess with your body especially your liver. Also, they are not sustainable. Once you stop taking these pills, teas and etc, your potential to gain the weight back is really high.
When you change your lifestyle, your weight loss becomes more sustainable and with time your body gets so used to that healthy lifestyle that you will rarely crave junk food.

A healthy lifestyle and not a diet is the way to go. #speaking (writing?) from experience.

  319. dejane on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 11:01 am

  320. BlindFold on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 11:09 am

@Dejane..yes instead of taking the pill every day, she skips two days and take it on the third day. Consult with your doctor first neh!

  321. Fezzy on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 11:10 am

So I applied at 2 schools for my daughter to be enrolled for Grade 2 next and her name has been put on Waiting List B on both schools cos we are not in the “feeding area”.
Who has experienced that and what are the chances of her being taken for next year?
This is kinda stressing me cos she is currently in a private school and most of the teachers there are Zimbabweans and the way Thando pronounces some English words.
Yesterday she didnt want to go to school cos her Zimbabwean class teacher slapped her on the head and she fell down. Apparently her friend cannot even sleep at night because of that teacher.

  322. BlindFold on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 11:23 am

@Fezzy have you reported the teacher to the principal or whoever in charge?

  323. sxylin on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 11:30 am

hi all ; Fezzy do you know that Zimbabweans and Ghanaians are the most English well spoken people in Africa! Like do you really understand what you just wrote?
    apart from the supposed abuse; which you can easily take up with the teacher seeing as she is in a private school; i think your best bet for the best english for your daughter is that Zimbabwean teacher;

My fellow peers SAns’ english is scary sometimes just listening to a conversation is too painful…. you murder the Queen’s language

    @Dejane Duromaine will drive you crazy; the side effects are sick! you will be deriliously happy in one minute and depressed the next ! drink lots of water too; and do EAT but in small proportions;

@dejane it took me 2 months/2 packs of 30mg ze Duromines to go from 42 to 32. I ate breakfast (cereal) & supper, I used to get full with a few spoons & forced a couple more. Did a lot of walking, you become energized & sweat quickly. I tried not to lose a lot at once & I gained about 2 yrs after, but ke ndandihlala ndodwa & was lazy to cook & ate cereals & fruit.

Fezzy it can be easy having your daughter being bullied/ beaten like that ke her own teacher who is supposed to protect her during school hours. i say send an email (just to have proof that you have reported the matter) to the principal and go see them maybe after 2 days. if you not happy with the way Thando pronounce english word-so you can suggest that they maybe change her teacher or pray and hope that she gets admitted to another school. after all u pay school fees out of your own pocket so if u are not happy then whats the use.

  338. Fezzy on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 12:48 pm

hi all ; Fezzy do you know that Zimbabweans and Ghanaians are the most English well spoken people in Africa! Like do you really understand what you just wrote?

YES! I do understand what I just wrote @syxlin. UThando doesnt pronounce file as file, uthi FAYEL. Is that ok cos her teacher is Zimbabwean and they speak the best English?
Yes they do speak the best English but the way they pronounce most English words is wack! Please tell me that other kids wont laugh at her and wonder ukuthi what is a FAYEL.

Hhayi Syxlin awazi ingikwatisa kanjani lendaba. I wanted to go and speak to the teacher but I fear for my child. I called the principals office and apparently I wasnt the first parent to complain and they will deal with her.

Yazi @Gomolemo I so much wanted to go and moer that teacher but kumele ngicabangele uThando. She might be difficult on her and even fail her at the end of the year. She has been telling me since the begginning of the year but I would just think that she is just being a baby. The convo we had on Sunday drove me mad.

Thando : Mama, I get scared when the teacher comes to my desk.
    Me : Why Nana?
Thando : Cos she slaps us on the head and we fall down.

Tjo..tjoo Fezzy wee *hands on head* If you do go to the school dear, you are failing your daughter. Its a private school and it cost a lot(guessing). Your daughter must LOVE going to school, so if she hate it there, she will end up not doing well because she is afraid of her teacher. It there is a possibility that it might affect her psychologically as well. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER STEPS TOWARDS THIS MATTER. ITS SOUNDS SERIOUS TO ME.

Fezzy no educator is supposed to beat your child; i say call the teacher and arrange a meeting; after that tell her all ur grienvances, and tell her no one beats up your daughter because wena you do not beat her up(mara u do lol) and be clear and tell her should you encounter any issues there will be consequences to her actions and she doesnt want to get you there!

Again also let her know that you will not approach the principal as yet because you are giving her a chance to correct her wrong! If that teacher is telling your daughter to pronounce file as FAYEL hhayi ke angisazi because she will encounter a venda teacher who will pronounce sixty as sikisty then you might have to move her again! My advice teach your daughter the pronunciation you would like her to adopt! its easy because pronounciation is personal, im sure (shuwa) nawe you have English words that will have people hiding under the table when you pronounce them ; same goes for me too!

Fezzy mara why do you guys take your kids to these schools? Are they registered with Dept of Education in the first place? #NotZeno
A friend of mine took her twins to some private school in the North, also owned by Zimbabweans. And I asked her to check if the school is registered after she told me about some things that the kids were doing at the school which I found to be odd, to her horror she discovered in May that the school is not registered with the Dept. She went to the school and told them her discovery, and the Principal was like “Yes, it’s true and we are working on it”. She took her kids out of there and took them to a previously model c school. Luckily the principal was nice enough to understand her drama and sympathized.

@Vesa, the school is legit, owned by a big development company in Johannesburg. The principal is an old white man from KZN but like most the private schools in JHB, they hire a lot of desperate foreign teachers.

I was desperate when I took her to that school cos it was already Jan and I hadnt found a school for my daughter. Her Grade R teacher was a nice Indian lady and she was very good with them. I couldnt take her out this year due to financial constraints and because she didnt have problems in Grade R I thought she was going to be fine again this year. When I heard that she was going to be in that lady’s class I just felt like commiting suicide cos I was crossing my fingers that they put her in that nice Indians class.

He even wanted to go back home as it was his first year in studying in Pretoria so he had to deal with language constraints & this biatch. When he told me i also kept quiet coz i was scared she’s victimise him further but he also told his dad who went to school the next day & told the principal if the teacher doesn’t stop that he will not go to the police but will personally deal with her & i must say, my son has never complained about the teacher hitting him but he still want to leave that school.

well my sister applied to whole lot of public good schools but he still didnt get in, was told about the waiting list story, she kept on pestering the schools in Jan and they all said they were full, and we are from a relatively small town so there arent that many schools in town in our area so she had no choice but to send him there in Feb coz time was running out and he was sitting at home and yes it is registered with the Department we checked, the Department has a list of registered schools on their website its there

Yazi Fezzy u must go to your daughter’s school on Monday, worse now that she’s been reported to the police, the school must see that today’s situation is not an isolated case and tha more parents are speaking up,, talk to her, woman to woman, even though ukhuluma ngezandla wena..

  410. sxylin on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 3:11 pm

@asanwababe eish thank you! There is one girl i never talk about; i think she has a backbone for days; LKG (lerato) you will never see her tweet any red bottoms; she would RATHER PEOPLE RECOGNISE THE RED BOTTOMS SHE WEARS! she will keep everyone wondering if its real or not!

The IT girls all copied Melody’s pose! UTumi nkosiyam’ thats another step child! well fcuk me over im about to make someone also famous; there is a girl as well that ive seen on Melody’s timeline, her insta name is Miss Manche or something like that! Now that kid has great dress sense; surpasses Melody even, she also needs to tone it down on the, ” designer name dropping” But yeah they all copy each other…..

@Angenoir, wena o mang? Please give me a hint… I know a few people that work on gwen lane that I’ve seen on this site. Which one are you?

  413. Smatsatsa on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 3:14 pm

True Kamza, a real business woman puts power in her brand, why would I brag about my competitor’s clothes and not my own? Giving them more coverage? If she was wearing her own clothes then it would make sense.. she’s doesn’t even think far to draw inspiration from these labels and strengthen her own brand by diversifying into what she lacks currently!

My man told me tht if he sees me posting pictures of the house or any branded clothes i buy he wud leave me, lol! How dramatic.. But honestly, exposing your life like that on social sites can draw too much attention, and attention brings about a lot of other sh*t too..
Next you’ll be complaining how people know your biz but forgetting that u put it there for all to see..

  414. Angenoir on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 3:15 pm

I like that about her ; she stands alone, cant be compared to her friends (not saying she is better! Her friends dress well too bordering skanky sometimes *cues leather shorts and stockings!

  427. Vesa on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 3:49 pm

@Fezzy…..Gold Reef city is the only theme park in Jozi. But the are other interesting places. Like the Lion park in Fourways, there’s an inflatable place on Sloane street in Bryanston that kids like, especially if they are older than bo 6. You can take your child on the Gautrain to the airport and back just for the experience or visit Maropeng in the Westrand

  428. Babyluv on Fri, 27th Jul 2012 3:49 pm

Ja neh from 42-32 its a bit much. Mna i would be happy with being a 36 toned, with a flat tummy, im not meant to be skinny. @fezzy that teacher deserves a beat down. I think next time you there go with @gomolicious.

@Smatsatsa I like ur man, so true!

@sxylin you so right hey.. I actually think bo-melody are not that stylish, simply because if u follow what was on the D&G, gucci etc etc ramps for fall2012, that’s what they wearing! It’s not like it’s original style. I see nothing special there, with all of them incl and esp bonang and uyanda. Lol i know that site tumi foster dresses from!
Real style is not having to tweet labels to validate urself.
Real style is having your own take on fashion and incorp what reflects u, not wearing exactly what u saw on LouisV etc ramp

*sidenote* *bitchyside* y do dark black ppl like melody insist on wearing that lumo-ish Mac lipstick?! Look like golliwogs!
