At The #PumaDigsEgoli Party

On Friday, 24 August PUMA opened a new store in Braamfontein and it was launched under the theme “PUMA Digs Egoli.” The Store will have a new design, with additional elements such as a PUMA Social area and DJ mixing station, a peep show to surprise shoppers in the change-rooms, and an unSMARTphone.
PUMA has also acknowledged Johannesburg’s rich mining history into the PUMA Store design by introducing some references to mining, including a dominant Brand Wall made up of mining helmets; footwear housing elements made to look like mining elevators; and finally the iconic PUMA CAT statues that wait on guard at the store entrance have been sprayed gold.
When I arrived at the event, I thought “oh my word, it’s just kids here, am gonna feel so old… ” but it was such a fun, fresh and not like the usual JHB events, I had a good time. Of course, the fact that I could shop on PUMA’s account made the experience even more enjoyable.
The set up was on point, it was some sort of a classy street bash, with burgers, di wors rolls, hot dogs, etc, you just had to choose what you liked and of course, the open bar… lets just just say, thank you PUMA, your guests had fun.
In line with the mining theme…

Jerry Mokgofe… when I first saw his outfit, I asked my friend “What kinda waist coat is this?” but when he turned around and saw it was him, the outfit then made sense… if you know what I mean… heheh.
I thought of Kiki when I saw this Jamaica top… Huu the price though… it’s like you’re buying an Olympic Medal.

PUMA says that their aim with the store is to provide more streetwear-oriented products with limited releases and must-haves.
And yes, there was lotsa beer…
The PUMA Store Braamfontein is located on the corner of De Korte and Melle Streets and will be open on a Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and on a Sunday from 9am to 1pm.
