Love Fashion? Then You’re Invited To Skip Fashion Exchanges !

August 12, 2012 by

Skip is proud to bring “Swap to shop” to South Africa!

Swap to shop is an ethical, eco-fabulous clothing exchange that is sweeping the fashionista world and you’re invited to the first one.

900 ladies will be able to give their wardrobes an instant makeover at the fabulous Skip Fashion Exchanges to be hosted by Destiny Magazine in Johannesburg on 8 September and 6 October and in Pretoria on 29 September and 20 October 2012.

Discerning fashionistas who appreciate quality clothing will be able to swap gorgeous but unwanted outfits for just the ones they like – while being wallet-and environmentally-friendly.

Skip has identified a growing body of upmarket women in South Africa who love to indulge in the latest fashion trends and are constantly expanding their wardrobes – yet who hate to simply discard valuable outfits they no longer wear. Participants in the Skip Fashion Exchanges are thus discerningly invited, and they get to enjoy some girl-time not only oohing and aahing over the best in fashion, but learning up-to-date styling tips at the same time.

Skip uses ‘swing tags’ as the currency for ‘purchasing’ at the exchange.  You receive one ‘swing tag’ per graded clothing and accessory item checked in as you arrive, and these are in due course redeemed for an equivalent item.

The event kicks off in style with champagne and canapés, followed by an entertaining talk by fashion gurus Noni Gasa and Nkensani Nkosi.  While this is taking place, a pop-up Fashion Exchange is set up for guests to enjoy, then the real fun of swapping begins. And with stylists and clothes alteration booths on hand for advice or a quick nip ’n tuck, there’s nothing to stop you making a fabulous impression in your new rags.

Entry to the Skip Fashion Exchange costs just R120 plus 3 items or more of nearly-new high fashion clothing to swap.  Each participant will be treated to a champagne and canapés plus a goody bag to the value of R300.  Tickets are limited so book early by calling Tshia Aphiri on 011-3006700 or emailing tshia.aphiri@ndalomedia.com.

All thats left to do is go through your closet, wash your nearly-new outfit with Skip and dream about the glamour that could be yours in return.

See you ladies there!!

I can just see people bringing weird old clothes in the hope of getting something nice back. I’d love to know how this will go. I would take size 40 clothes there! LOL
