Minnie’s BAD Experience On LIVE Fuels Her

Minnie was clearly traumatized by her time on LIVE , that’s me interpreting the Blog entry on her tumblr where she says goodbye to her Mzansi Insider fans:

She writes:

“Its almost a year to the day, that I joined Mzansi Insider – as co-presenter. In joining the show, I had a personal point to prove – to no one else but me! I skimmed – moving to MI would show that I was more than just the LIVE ‘tweetceptionist’ (the girl who just reads tweets)”

Shame on you LIVE Producers

“The show also gave Mzansi the chance to view me as the star I’ve have always dreamed I would be one day. Being in someone’s shadow is never fun but in this industry its very important to pay your dues.”

She is 100% correct. How she dwells on this point screams “I am ready to talk about this now.” so I hope someone will ask in her next interview so she can let it all out.

She concludes:

“I am now flying away to my next chapter and please do join me…”

Is she joining 3 Talk? Coz that’s mama Noeleen’s line.

The only reason given for Minnie’s departure on Mzansi Insider was that she’s going to pursue her acting career, this left people with a lot of questions considering that The Wild is now cancelled but ke… there’s iNkaba, they say.

There is also a rumour that she is going back to LIVE. I was taken aback when I heard this and honestly don’t believe it… because at first I was like “no way she would go back there unless Bonang is leaving”… and then someone whispered that Bonang is leaving LIVE, she will be doing her own show. The fashion police show is now getting a weekly slot. These are just rumours, I don’t know if they are true or not.
Guess time will tell….tick tock

Minnie is gorgeous hey!

I admire Bonang for her hard work (in my view). She leaves her mark on everything she works on. And I also love Minnie, I was excited for her when she left Live coz she had finally realized her worth. With that said, this thing of always refering to her bad experience at Live or comparing her career progression with that of Bonang is tiring now. Can’t she just shine on her OWN!?!

I also hope she is not going back to Live ngoba she will be always compared to Bonang like every guy is compared to Andile. I honestly do understand where Minnie is coming from and from the sounds of things, this thing really hurt her (we dont know how she was treated behind the scenes). BUT with that said she really needs to get on with life. She is always addressing “haters” and acting like she’s always under attack, that screams insecurity to me. The only thing I hate about our entertainment industry is its backwardness! In america, you are introduced to the talent first and then the person most of the times (we have the occasional talentless pretty faces). In Mzansi its the person and who they know and then if we are lucky their talent. We care too much about loooks than quality entertainment.

Minnie on Metrofm for me was just a PR stunt and nothing more. She wasnt ready for radio and needs a lot of growing. Even her acting, she does not convince as an actress, she is not credible. I hope that in time she will improve and grow to become the star that she was born to be!

Eish skepsel sa batho. Think its a good thing that she’s finally admitted to being B’s shadow. B is like Beyonce and every other lead singer of a popular band, and her co presenters will always live in her shadow. Think Kelly Rowland, Michelle, Thembi Seete, Tebogo from Mafikizolo. None of them have spoken up and said what its like living in someone’s shadow.

I applaud her for being real and stating how she felt during her time on Live. Not only were the producers hard on her but so was the public. Minnie was butchered every Friday night. Even Sizwe and B would make fun of her in a subtle manner.

The industry is unfortunately small and right now your girl B wants to dominate every aspect of it. She’s earned her accolades kodwa these people that want Bonang on magazine covers, presenting their shows, and giving her acting gigs are not giving other kids spotlight to shine. Honestly I’m tired of seeing Bonang everywhere!

Minnie must just find one craft she’s good at. She doesn’t wanna be a jack of all trades and master of none.

Why can’t Just Curious get an interview with her? Akere she’s Mabler’s cousin/mzala?!

i watched MI and Minnie did a great job- also the fact that she and Phila worked together made it even better – the two of them clicked really well.

At that time there are people who studied drama or can act, but sitting at home jobless.

She must just be the face of Kaizer Chiefs. I have a feeling she might join their Kazier Chiefs tv as a presenter (a job Bonang once had, *sigh*). A maybe a reality tv show will do her good.

The radio gig was a not a good move on Metro fm’s part. She should’ve started on graveyard shift like everyone, but then again she’s not a plain Jane like some of us. She makes Adil sound bad, and Adil is good, but her presence has killed his shine. He may lost a few listeners because of that too.

But she’s got that Motions gig, Jeep endorsement so she should be fine. Maybe she should just endorse products that doesn’t require acting or presenting. But on the real though Minnie is still young, she must take her time to find and nurture her talent.

zenzy people who lie always change their story about the same thing nje… i have a friend who is like that.. well she was my friend at school but a mutual friend brought us back together again. for eg.. few weeks backs i was sick and went to the doctor and we were busy chatting in our whatsapp group and someone said nna i always go to the doctor when im sick (i dont have a choice cos at work they want sick note) anyway ena she said she rather not to go to the DR and ask for annual leave.. cos she doesnt want to waste her “medical funds” neng neng boom she spent R1000 on medical bills cos gaana medical aid.. i just walked past that comment waitse…. i dont why people lie to fit in shem

Besides she’s only 22 years old, only 2/3 years in the entertainment industry. She is still trying to find her feet, figure out how to handle certain situations. What works for her and what does n’t.

She has done so much for herself and should be proud of her achievements. She might not excel in presenting/acting or whatever but she is learning.

Not everyone will be dumb enough to turn down an opportunity given to them just because they don’t have experience in it. Sometimes we learn on the job.

Yes there are students who spent their parents hard earned cash studying to become actors/presenters the works. Unfortunately life ain’t fair. There are no guarantees in life. We must not crucify people who jump on opportunities given to them.

The only thing she can do is to make the best of every opportunity she is given. #thatsall
