Things That Make Me Go TJO!

The return of Dali Tambo’s talk show: People Of The South is that tjo moment! Not necessarily in a bad way… it’s just that we all thought he was over and out and now to hear that the show is coming back to SABC 3 took me off guard.
The first episode of this “brand new”season features our president, comrade tat’u Zuma and it kicks off on Sunday, 12th August at 20:30. 26 Episodes have been commissioned and promises to feature politicians, sports stars, celebrities and business icons. There is a need for such a show, I welcome it, just didn’t see Dali doing it…and the question on everyone’s lips is whether he’ll still be giving away the famous cushions.
I haven’t seen the promos for the show but I’ve been seeing a lot of tweets/reactions to it. Mixed messages but I think this could actually be the one show that drives audiences to SABC 3.
The tagline: People Of The South: Inspiring us, uniting us, defining us.

I think the problem with people in this industry is that most of them seem to have a problem with letting go of certain things and phases in their lives. Always clutching onto gel covered straws (re Noance’s comment) and fading careers.
Programmes like this and All you Need is Love have long reached their sell by date. Next thing we know they’ll be bringing back Take 5 for our kids to watch. It’s like bringing back SABC 1 continuity presenters

Akere Dali is connected so maybe we will see differntly “people from the south” bo ma Jeff Radebe jwalo jwalo and it might be refreshing.
Another refreshing thing would be to have “people of the south” with a freshe presenter, maybe a great-great-grandchild of the Tambo’s not the him
Make “people of the south”a family business of some sort.
PS: Dear Dali, you better get a stylist for your sohw, No more double breasted suits and Nigeria inspired wear. And Please no Gold tussled cushion and definately no Kepisi!

Truth be told, i used to love watching Ricki Lake after school…it’s like the polite version of Jerry Springer meets Oprah. I doubt i’ll connect with it again, but never say never with all the crap on tv, some sheeeait is better stinking than some.
Just like Tracy Chapman, i always thought Tselane was a man…ei the joys of being young and naive.

@slindoe thanks…@shybear my eldest is turning 4 in December and the youngest was 17 months. The older they are, the greater the pain so please schedule that appointment, it’s worth it.
