Usain & Oscar : So Inspiring

August 6, 2012 by

Thanks to Twitter I found myself watching the Olympics and sjoe, am I glad I did! It’s interesting to watch something other than soccer that always leaves me disappointed.

Well done to Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt who won gold and set a new world record of 9.63 seconds in the 100m race. He was followed closely by his fellow country man Yohan Blake.

One of the most talked about athletes at the London 2012 Olympics is our very own Oscar Pistorius who continues to inspire so many people out there with his courage and determination.

Oscar finished last in the men’s 400m semi – final and doesn’t proceed to the final but he’s really still our hero and we’re so proud of him!

Have you been watching the games?

Shout out to all the other South Africans who are bringing medals from the London games…

Nxa!!! I thought the 100m sprint final would be on Tuesday. That’s the only event I was planning to watch.

Staying with sports… The unfathomable unmentionable occurred today at loftus… And in other news, rain stopped play before tea on day four of the second match between England & SA with SA on 39 for no wicket leading by 33 runs.

In more important news, I still remain khosi till the grave and beyond.

    100m per 9.63 sec =37.4km/hr

    This can’t be normal!

    When is Caster running?

  8. samoooosa on Mon, 6th Aug 2012 7:55 am

Correction BS, Bolt broke the Olympic record, not the world record. He did 9.63 and the WR stands at 9.58s which he is also holding

  9. Babyluv on Mon, 6th Aug 2012 8:08 am

@fezzy caster runs wednesday. Bolt needs to be tested, i think he has turbo booster in him like F1 cars (Remember caster was also tested). How hot are the Americans? Hmmm Ryan Bailey and Tyson Gay. The way i laughed when that kenyan won the 3000m steeple chase, his celebration lol

so proud of Oscar, qualifying for the semi finals was enough for him, as for Bolt, i don’t see how this man can be Gay, there were rumours that he’s gay.

Shem, from the qualifying rounds before the Semis, I knew gore ba ilo mo sia Oscar!

But it’s the determination in him that is inspiring the world. He could’ve chosen to be wrapped in blankets on a wheel chair ko dirobotong to ask for money like all these people do in Jozi….but he chose not to let his “no legs” situation to dictate how he was gonna live his life!
