The Roast Of Steve Hofmeyr

September 24, 2012 by

Right this minute, Africa’s comedy lovers are anticipating the highly publicized Roast Of Steve Hofmeyr which took place last week at Gold Reef City. The Roast, which is a first for AFRICA attracted loads of SA Celebrities. The roast will be on air for the first time tonight. 21:00 on Comedy Central, Channel 122 on DSTV

The crew dishing out the insults were Roastmaster Trevor Noah and roasters Casper de Vries, Kuli Roberts, Shaleen Surti-Richards, Anele Mdoda, David Kau, Minki van der Westhuizen and John Vlismas.

In typical SA fashion, Hofmeyr was seated on a BBQ shaped throne.

Some of the lines from the Roast:

Acerbic comic John Vlismas says : “I come to bury Steve, not to praise him”, before going on to mock Hofmeyr’s infamous gesture when he threw 5,000 Rand worth of U2 tickets in Jukskei river.

Model Minki van der Westhuizen to Steve Hofmeyr “If it wasn’t for you, I’d be the dumbest blond in South African showbusiness.”

David Kau to Trevor Noah: “People are always asking me when I am going to appear on Jay Leno, but I tell them, I don’t need to go on it  - my jokes have already appeared on Leno.”
