TJO At Shekhinah’s Idols Exit!

*pretends reality shows aren’t rigged* 

OMG Guys, how shocking was that exit? Actually that whole elimination show phucked with my mind nje from the start… They split the Top 6 into 3, Khaya stood with Simphiwe, Melissa with Tshidi and Shekhinah with Monde.

I was sure they were gonna choose 1 from each pair to be in the bottom 3, but it was not to be.

Rewind to Sunday…

We watched the Top 6 perform showstoppers, Monde did Usher’s Scream… I know Usher’s songs people, I buy all his albums but I don’t know this song shem and even though Monde’s performance was solid given the dancing, I’m still trying to figure out which part of the song was the show stopper…

Melissa performed Rihanna’s Where Have You Been… I loved how she was dressed and the choreography, it is actually what fooled everyone into thinking she did a great job. Melissa has a beautiful voice but it needs a lot of work, she would benefit a lot from voice training, learning how to control it and there’s just so much that she can do with it that she isn’t doing now. I don’t see her winning.

Not that you should trust what I “see”because I totally saw Simphiwe leaving the show this week, thanks to his slaughter of Chris Brown’s Turn Up The Music. The shock and surprise, when I heard he would be doing that song… my word! Like I wondered how he could be so bold to do that song when even Chris Brown struggled to do it live and oh boy, was his performance messy! After Simphiwe’s performance I decided I was going to attend the elimination show so I could say goodbye to him personally, seeing I had been TeamSimphiwe in recent weeks. Then he was announced to be safe. TJO.

And TJO was all I could say when Shekhinah was booted out of the TOP 6. I was not shocked because I thought she deserved to win, I actually thought she was a little too one dimensional and sounded the same week after week, but I was shocked that she got booted out when the likes of Melissa are still there. She also sang her heart out for the judges to save her and what a shock it was to hear that they had decided not to use their one and only vote of the season. The judges can’t use this vote from Top 4 onwards so I’d say it’s pretty obvious that no one’s going home next week. It will be their only chance to save someone.

Back to Shekhinah, shem, she’s only 17 so there’ll be lots of opportunities for her to make something of her career. She can’t come back to IDOLS though because the rules don’t allow anyone in the Top 10 to come back. She mentioned that her focus now was to go back to school so she can catch up with her studies and complete her matric.

The two top favourites Tshidi and Khaya are having it easy and I suspect they will fight it out in the final. Honestly, no one deserves to be in the final 2 more than them but then again, this is IDOLS, nothing is about what you deserve.

Tshidi did justice to Beyonce’s Crazy In Love and Khaya was more than impressive when he performed Keri Hilson’s Knock You Down.

This week, the Top 5 will perform 2 songs each from Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time list and their mentor will be Zolani from Freshlyground.

    So Shekinah is 17 so why did they let Winnie Khumalo’s daughter to go cos she was also 17 they said she was too young. and she can sing!Shekinah should finish school,its a tough industry nothing is guaranteed

    Rethabile had to go, after reading so much about her ‘amazing voice’I finally listened to her and I was disappointed, she sounded nervous, I was not convinced. Age was used to eliminate her! She can stiLl come back next year much more confident

    Rethabile and Shek are same age,but Rethabile was forever looking and sounding nervous.She wouldnt have handled top 10 pressure,she would have cried daily. In 2 or 3 years time she will be ready to kick ass. Shek’s got a mature and nice big voice for her age.

    Why didnt the judges save Shek vhele?

    Melissa worries me,okare she might give Tshidi problems.Monde must go next,nkhathele ngaye being on bottom 3/2 and not leaving,hai.Simphiwe too.

    Although Shekhinah and Rethabile are the same age, Shekhinah looked and sounded way more mature than Rethabile did. Rethabile had an amazing voice but ziltch personality. (I’ll blame the nerves)
    But Shekhinah’s exit was a shocker. Its not like Khaya or Tshidi will ever need the save so who the heck are the judges saving it for?!
    Am I the only person who wasn’t moved by Tshidi in her pencil skirt singing crazy in love? No?

    I think it was a good time for her to leave, now she can finish her Grade12 and I’m sure something better will come up for her, she’s been trained and gained a taste of the real world of the entertainment industry.

    PS: I love Tshidi too, but I like Khaya more so I guess I wouldnt really mind if Tshidi won, but I want Khaya to win!lol *conflicted*

    BS Shekinah’s perfomamnce this past sunday ws nt as good , so ws Simphiwes ,bt i didnt expect her to leave, I thot Melissa will b booted since her voice is not as powerful as the others , Khaya killed that performance , oh well it appears Simphiwe has mo fans hence the reason he ws safe ….m rooting for Khaya , Tshidi and Simphiwe.

    Golden Diva I wasn’t moved either shem. She was dressed like she was going to a meeting, she couldn’t even do the booty hop properly! I was not moved.

    I was also convinced that Simphiwe was leaving this week, I didn’t even expect Shekhinah to be in the bottom 2! The way I voted for that girl, I really wanted to see her perform a Lauryn Hill song :( Bonang tweeted that she’s in matric and that’s probably why the let her go. That’s not for the judges to decide though, Shekhinah entered the competition knowing that she was in matric. She sang her heart out for that save and she deserved it.

    I’ve got a strong suspicion that Melissa could be in the final with Khaya, phela she’s got the whole package that girl.

    I missed Sundays show so I can’t comment much, I never got the hype ka Khaya, every chance I got to watch Idols, Tshidi’s always blown me away! I love her! #TeamTshidi all the way
    As for Shek, her voice is predictable, I see her singing like o Macy Gray and the likes so I wouldn’t buy her album..
    Khaya can go collaborate no Rebecca Malope for all I care, he doesn’t move me at all..

    I love Khaya Mthethwa, he will win this competition, the rest shall fall out each week, so lets accept it now. And i just have this gut feeling that the judges will not use their save this season. I mean obvious Monde will be up to be axed next tuesday and ke sure he shall not be saved. I mean this is the guy who has this bewildered look on his face everytime someone else is eliminated and not him. He has long psyched himself to go home.

    @BlindFold Thanx for asking my love. It went well on my part, I just felt the favour of God with me, I did not struggle with answers. They’ll be shortlisting for the second interview were it will be between two candidates n the best will be chosen. So I’m waiting to hear from them…..Its a UK based company so everything they do has to go to the UK for approval and back here again….

    Like this girl from homecell had her birthday and now for gifts, she’s talking about me getting her a dryer and straightner, the other girl a food processor and the other guy a dress….. She got me a toiletry bag for my bday…..And the most SHOCKING part, she’s not joking! Hoodrat tendencies I tell you.

    Hahahahahahahahahahaha.LOL.Kwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I can’t hey, I can’t deal…got to laugh at her. People still demand birthday presents in this 2012 hour? Petrol went up by 93 cents a litre- tell her I said that.

    On the other hand, I actually have no problem with a cash bar at the wedding, as long as food and non alcoholic drinks are provided, I won’t fuss.. I understand how expensive weddings are and booze is one area to cut off..
    And people are often well behaved at such weddings instead of those that get annoyingly drunk drinking expensive bottles they’ll never be able to afford!
    People can be so greedy when they’re not coughing up their own cash, let them pay and suddenly people know how much they can have…
