Now That Breezy Is Coming…

The world can end.Last week was just one of those amazing weeks… An announcement that Chris Brown, whom I love so dearly as an artist is coming to our shores to perform in a 3 city tour. 3 cities, wow!

My first thought when I saw those dates was “I’m going to all 3 concerts, 15 December in JHB, 17 December in Durban and one of the Cape Town dates… 19-20th… or maybe I’ll even do both those dates, why not. “

I don’t even know why I’m bloggin this… just wanted to express how happy I am… how I can’t wait… how grateful I am to those who made it possible. I’ve been waiting for this to happen.

I had an opportunity to meet Chris when he first came to SA in 2007 but I did not take it up. I think I mentioned it but I will say it again. He was here coz SABC 1 brought him for his Generations cameo and it was around the same time as Real Goboza’s launch party, I was supposed to go because I was one of the show’s presenters but I decided I wasn’t gonna go to the launch. I remember Khwezi Magwaza, who was the show’s producer pleading with me to come and saying “But babe, Chris Brown is going to be there..” I said .. “I know but I can’t come..”

I can’t remember what reason I gave her for not going but I did not go to the launch because I didn’t know what to wear… and I was gonna have to be introduced so I chose to stay home.
I loved Chris Brown then but not as much as I do today.. .and I have been trying to figure out why I love him so much and I think it’s because … he reminds me so much of a certain man in my life.

Like everyone, I first noticed him on Run It, then Yo, Excuse Me Miss in 2005, but the first CB album I owned was Exclusive, which was a gift. And I had wanted it because I loved “Take You Down” ! This was even before I saw the video *fans self*

From Exclusive, I just bought everything he brought out, Graffiti, FAME and FORTUNE but I love him more on his featured tracks, Another Round, Take It To The Head, My Last, Champion, Pot Of Gold, Body to Body, Right By My Side etc.. he just kills these collabos.

And now that I have had 2 months to listen to FORTUNE, I would like to DISAGREE with Zamani for calling it Chris Brown’s weakest offering.  Don’t smoke and blog Zamani.

If you’re about to buy Fortune, make sure you buy the Deluxe edition because the Deluxe Edition Tracks just stand out for me… and he SINGS in them. The girl he features on his album, Sevyn, is AMAZING! She’s signed to his label, is currently working on her debut album and I’m looking forward to hearing more of her stuff.

    Anyways, one of my senior colleague who’s here for few weeks (American) found me buying tickets online & she went on & on about “the abuser.” I told her I had no idea what she wast talking about & bought my tickets :-P See you there!
