SA Reality Show War: Mzansi Housewives VS Jozi Wives

Yes, the two shows are not even on air yet (if they ever will be) but there are already rumours and emails flying around about people (read Sonia Sedibe) being accused of Intellectual Property.

In November 2011, there was noise about a new reality show called Mzansi Housewives of Soweto, which was meant to be on TV early this year. Read about the show HERE

They said :

The The series will zoom in on the lives of five Soweto women with contrasting lives and personalities. The 12-episode series will challenge stereotypes by profiling how these women lead their lives. It will highlight the pleasures and pressures they go through as post- democracy black women; how they have fun, how they relate to each other, to family issues, to cultural issues, to their careers and their relationships.

So while we are still waiting for Mzansi Housewives, Drum, this week reported that Sonia Sedibe is busy shooting a reality show of her own called Jozi Wives. A reality show that will follow the lives of a group of women married to prominent Jozi men.

Mmmh… are they sure?

Knowing how these prominent Jozi men cheat, I’m really curious to see if this will happen, and whether the men will agree to be on TV and risk their mistresses getting jealous and running to the papers. Can you imagine how many stories will crop up when these couples are all happily married on TV? People are jealous out there.. flaunt your love in public and invite drama.

Also, this is SA, not Atlanta, what are the chances that these reality shows would actually have drama when people are too busy tryna be bo Miss Goody-Two-Shoes? The only person who has the guts to show us real drama (whether we like it or not) is Dineo, because well… she’s Dineo.

You know, at one point I was hopeful about local reality shows, then Blame It On Fame season 2 came along… and Kelly Khumalo’s Rolling With (what a slow mess) arrived and then I totally gave up.

Do these Mzansi Houwives/ Jozi Wives have what it takes to keep us on the edge of our seats?

I hear Mzansi Housewives is courting Primrose Crous to be on the cast… will it happen? We wait and see.

    I read Sonia’s drum story, I couldn’t believe that was a cover story. There’s nothing new,she is basically saying I am looking for a job.
    I watched Rolling with Kelly “SMH”, Kelly acts better on RC as Sunay than that thing. I love Kelly but that thing is boring and boring shame. I think Dineo did a good job on hers and people must take notes

    Trey it is possible for Sonia to be happy despite Lesley’s activities outside home. If he does not bring the other woken or their issues into his home chances are slim that Sonia knows about them. At home Les is busy with her and their kids only and that makes Sonia happily married.

    2 guys in vaal, father & son ( dollar gp & dollarz gp respectively) are rumoured to have bought houses in vereeniging since they eat each other’s women.

    Anytime nawe u need to put an extra effort on that sexlife of yours, its like you just sit there and wait for him to make a move. One day he must just come home and find u wearing nothing but a pair of stilletos or just lying on the kitchen couter or on the cvouch. It doesnt have to ed anymore
