Zonke Shocked By Her Drum Cover Headline

Drum Magazine at it again?

It appears so! The songstress, who is featured on the weekly mag’s cover reacted with shock to the headline that says that she was hurt by her baby daddy and ex Tumi Mokwena and that her sisters helped her to cope again. Apparently Zonke left Tumi because she was tired of his roving eye/wayward behaviour.

Zonke’s sister, Lulu Dikana, who is also a musician, tweeted:

“Hey. Saw da drum mag “QUOTE”what are they talking about? How come I didn’t kow this? Don’t know you’re a victim. “

to which Zonke replied:

“i’m just as shocked.”

This reminds me of the Bonang DRUMa incident…

According to Sunday Sun, Tumi is now dating Zamajobe… and Zonke says she has a bodyguard because all her friends have bodyguards. heheh.

Hai guys nna the way I’m so pissed ka this mag though, and I have to be subjected to this whole load of BS until March, I mean like seriously Khosi…this crap is not what I signed up for! I haven’t even downloaded the mag since July n I don’t feel any remorse, not even a little. Drum has just been reduced to a worthless tabloid with an editor who would do anything for sales! The word “exclusive” has lost it’s meaning because of Khosi and her Drum SMH!!!

I highly doubt that Drum would “make up” such stories and run it for print. So we’re so certain the story is “false” because of two lousy tweets? Zonke must have said something, maybe she wasn’t expecting it to be ran. Unless Khosi and her team sit around and suck stories out of their thumbs. Sunday world and Drum are always bashed here, really starting to wonder why that is…

I agree with the first paragraph ya Trey- I doubt Drum just starts their own stories, this celebrities are just playing the ‘blaming’ game when they realize how much they have given on the final product.

It was discussed here first about Tumi and his ways and even girls came forward. I believe she said all those stuff and her ex being a lawyer and all, she will deny all she said in fear of getting sued.

On the Zamajobe issue- is that the reason she now can afford? As she was rumored to be broke and couldn’t pay her house and car anymore? Aaai- wishing them both the best. Zonke should stop go nagana gore we are fools.

As a journalist I have interviewed a lot of people who would say many things during the interview only to be furious when they see them in black and white the following and claim that they did not say such. All you can do is show them the notes where they said that and they will quikcly get off your back.

As you can see, the ‘he hurt me’ part has been put in quotation marks which means the words must have come out of Zonke’s mouth but she is regretting it now and playing innocent.
If she indeed did not say that, it would be very unethical of Drum to do that because you cannot put words into a person’s mouth.

As a Journalist, i know that Drum Editor made up this quote just like they did with many other ones just to sell the mag. Many of their headlines have nothing to do with the story. Take Kabelo for instance, i saw the headline “im looking for a wife” in quotation marks as well n i knew that Kabelo would never say that. In the actual story Kabelo said he would love to get married one day so Kabelo was also shocked n said it on Twitter, im sure the Journo who wrote the story was just as shocked. Yes Zonke may have mentioned something about the break up but that quote shem i know Zonke didnt say it. If u don’t believe me ask the Journalist who wrote that story.

The Tumi and Zamajobe affair is nothing new really. In fact Zonke o shapile Zamajobe ka stena and she should not be surprised things turned out this way. Everyone in Polokwane knows that Tumi is a philanderer of note and over the years it never ceased to amaze me how many women would fall for him. Zamajobe and Tumi were dating since 2008 if I am not mistaken. And she also went through “the other woman” drama with him. There was Tumi’s baby mama drama etc she had to deal with. Dating this man is not for the faint hearted. Money is indeed the root of all evil because besides the money, Tumi has nothing going for him. And by the way, it is new money so no wonder he behaves this way. Women need to love themselves enough and not fall for such men. Zonke sisi, you can never turn no playa into a husband. No matter how many babies you make for him. Look at his history and how many baby mamas he has. You should have been smarter than that.

@ Fire that story of that woman made me fucken angry, because i have never heard or read about a missing child. The story is true sona, but why was it not publicised like the rest of stupid stories. That child was just few blocks away from home can you imagine the trauma of that woman. Born Xhosa, raised sepedi, changed to SiXhosa again..hai mani people in the townshiops and rural area are not being taken seriuous by the law serious. If it was some white child the whole of SA would have stand still looking for the missing child.

@Mathaz yep! in most instances Journalist submit stories and sub-editors put headlines, usually sensational to sell the publication.

That is after the news desk has changed the story and it no longer looks like the original copy submitted by a journo..

I kinda don’t feel sorry for Zonke, for starters this habit of having children out of wedlock nje! it is acceptable but it still does not make it right for the child and now papgeld drama would follow!
